This is the worst bank branch EVER I have dealt with. I opened my Wells Fargo bank account years ago with another branch in South Bay and they provided AWESOME services. However we had to deal with this bank branch in SF since it’s the closest to our house in San Francisco now. The experience was horrible. What happened: One of our contractors who is Latino needs to cash his weekly pay check we wrote to him, but he only has one ID (not two IDs as they “required”). In other Wells Fargo branches (and other banks) we were told if we go to the bank with him as the signer, it will be an acceptable alternative way. Even in this branch, all the tellers still use this as an acceptable alternative way for the contractor to cash the check, except for the teller Christina. She constantly gave hard time to the contractor and my partner who is the co-signer of the bank account, many times in the past 6-9 months. She spent extra long time to verify the everything repeatedly every week, asked the contractor, “are you a resident?”, “do you have passport” “You Latino guys cashed a lot of money”, “you made a lot of money this week” “I have been doing you a favor”, “This is the last time”. One day she greeted my partner and the contractor with the word “NO” while smiling, and after that she said she was joking and cashed the check. ALL other tellers are fine with the exactly same transaction by using the alternative way. Our contractor complaint to us that CHRISTINA is a racist since he is Latino. I did not feel good about it. This is a RACIST behavior towards Latinos!!! And this has been lasting for 6-9 months! She always gives troubles to our Latino contractors! What we did: We talked to her manager Samson Wei what happened. Surprisingly he did not apologize or call her over to very anything. Instead, Samson Wei told us that providing two IDs is the only way to cash a check. We explained to him that we go to the bank as the signer with the contractor and we have our bank accounts with Wells Fargo. It works for many Wells Fargo branches and all other tellers in this branch other than Christina. Samson Wei said he will give a warning to the tellers who provided good services to us instead of stopping Christina’s improper behavior towards Latino people. He said from now on, the contractor has to show two forms of IDs even though the account owner is with the contractor together and endorses the check which is issued by Wells Fargo bank.As a customer I feel that; The branch manager, Samson Wei really did not care about customers and support racist behavior. I asked him to print out the rules for me that two IDs are required and there is no alternative way in Wells Fargo to handle this. He did not, and he refused us to record the conversation. We closed one Wells Fargo bank account immediately in this branch right after this event. We are going to close other Wells Fargo bank accounts later gradually when all the checks are cleared. What I am expecting: Consistent service quality. Tellers in other Wells Fargo branches and in this branch ( everyone else this branch other than Christina) provided us an alternative way as a common practice. They treated us similar to other customers. This is NOT a favor which they can decide which day to give it to you, and which day to threat you or tease you that “this is the last time”, “You earned a lot”, “Are you a resident”, or spend half an hour to check god knows what. A branch manager tell you this is their rule but cannot provide any documents for that! I googled on the Internet and told the branch manager that “ this is what I found, Wells Fargo uses this as an alternative way”. He refused to even take a look at what I found!

No. No. No. We needed to open a business account so I visited the bank in person and was told the only way to open a biz account was to make an appt online. So I went home and made an appt -- the earliest appt was three days out. I received TWO email confirmations from Wells Fargo that detailed THE TIME AND LOCATION OF MY APPT TO OPEN MY BIZ ACCOUNT. I arrived at the location (1160 Grant) at the specific time and low and behold the idiots there had no record and seemed quite confused... a business account? What is that and how does that kind of thing happen? HELLO!? Nonetheless, the security guard indicated that I needed to go online and set an appt even though I had the confirmations to show (Yes, it confirmed I was at the right location and arrived on time). So. No. NO NO NO. Good thing I didn't open the account there.

Very bad customer service at this location. I was waiting in line to get into the bank to deposit but the lady Shan Shan Tan asked me what she can do for me two times. I told her that I need to deposit, but after a while they were talking inside for a while. When it was my turn they did not let me enter the bank. The manager Lisa Leung walks out of the bank and asked me for the third time "What can I do for you?" I asked her if she was discriminating me because I had a hood on. There were two other women wearing masks and a hoodie in front of me too but they were able to go inside when it was their turn and no one was asking them questions and delaying their transaction.

Bad service!!...my daughter went to bank on Saturday. She has correct paper work to add her name to her fathers bank account. Dad in hospital. She got paper work from Wells Fargo to do nortary and signed by her dad to add her name on bank account cause he is in hospital and not coming home. The manager there who works there does not know anything at all. My daughter went to another Wells Fargo upper management got to fix problem for Chinatown. My daughter has to many issues with them. Just with management. They need to know banking and manager is saying things and she saying wrong stuff. . She has correct paper work to add her name on bank account. Chinatown won't. Oh my daughter is a mix race. She is half Chinese and and has a Chinese last name. I feel Chinatown branch is racist no one there is white or African or any other race. It's all Chinese. So if you go there u will feel discrimated cause you are not full Asian.

Convenient location to do some banking while I am in the San Francisco-area. Great that they are open Saturday for banking. Staff speaks Cantonese because most of the customers are from the Chinatown-area. They even have a teal available for customers, which is welcomed in windy San Francisco.

Deposited my paycheck. Asked to withdraw, "funds not available." Went into bank, "that's a totally different system. There's nothing we can do. It should be available tomorrow." Had to take a gift from another customer to pay for gas to get home.
