I'm an independent contractor. My main client banks with Wells Fargo and the current check they've cut for me has a small blemish in the text description of the amount (an "s" looks more like a "3"); the numerical amount is crystal clear. The teller was nice enough about not being able to run it through his scanner but the manager immediately set off to call the business number to verify the check. She would not wait for me to contact my client to let them know she'd be calling. It's not like I could change the phone number of record, I just wanted to alert them to do what it takes to answer a business phone on a Saturday morning.
It's 2024. People aren't in an office 9-5 weekdays anymore, much less on a weekend. People use virtual numbers and route them who knows where. My client was, in fact, on Slack, but she rapid-dialed three times, got no answer, and told me to get lost. Utterly mean-spirited, which squares with all my friends' experience with Wells Fargo and which is why I would never, ever endorse banking with them.

this is the only time I’ve been to a Wells Fargo in SF and was served immediately. And this was on a Saturday!! It might look small, but it has just as many employees and those giant branches on market st.
i thought the Eastern European lady was new, kind, and actually human, as she commented on my book. :)

30 minutes in line. Get a rude Eastern European lady who refused to even help me get a banker to give them money to open an account. I have had my account for 32 years since I’ve been in high school. I’m nkw thinking of closing my Wells Fargo accounts. The customer service across the board is appalling.

People at the branches are probably fine, I dont go into the bank. This is dealing with their dispute department. I made a purchase in Cozumel Mexico and when I returned home the item was not what I told it was. I charged it on my Wells Fargo Signature card figuring that there card is like most of the cards out their and they work with their customer, not the merchant. BOY WAS I WRONG! I Initiated a dispute with their claims department as soon as I found out the merchandise was not what it was supposed to be. Been keeping in close contact with them, each time i speak to someone I get a different story. Finally, on Jan 10 one of their representatives told me to return the merchandise to the vendor, send a copy of the tracking to wells and it will be taken care of. I told him i was hesitant since at that point I wont have the merchandise or the credit. I went ahead and returned the items to the merchant. I have spoken to several supervisors that tell me they will research and get back to me but hear back from nobody. I have been a customer starting with First Atlanta back in 1977 and then when they merged became a wells customer. Everyone says I should have put it on American Express. They have great customer service and would have taken care of it immediately. I would not have even given a 1 star but could not continue without. I dont plan on paying for the merchandise, but it would have been nice for Wells Fargo to do what they said they would do. I have all the supervisors names and times of calls so they can certainly see what is going on. STAY AWAY FROM WELLS FARGO CREDIT CARDS. MANY OTHER BANKS OUT THERE THAT WOULD BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU.

I love this bank!! Great workers. I'm gonna try today to do important banking but we will seen if the crazy new person named San and shown in these embarrassing videos after he said I just came in with my white and privileged friends whom don't deserve free things. He kept saying you and ur friends are not allowed here . I'm like I bank here like 1-2 times a month and rarely get food or overpriced toilet paper here. Thank you very much :) I love Safeway I love The employees at both Safeway and Wells Fargo! Outstanding in every other dept but the security company is not okay and I'm coming by right now because I'm not gonna try and go all the way to market and third when im literally about to pass Potrero in a few mins. Anyways I love you Wells and Love you Safeway but after this being my spot and I'm google Elite as my last nice review was a year ago. The only person with their shoe on me saying I couldn't go inside at all not even to bank was Sam the Third Party Security Guard. Glad Bless every angered soul I pray for you Sam and anyone as confused and or rude with me when it's a mistaken identity in the first place. I was heated embarrassed as I was I went home and took a nice hot shower and was grateful that I am not bitter about Sam. I don't steal by the way. Like ever. So I was very confused and upset.

Jordan was super nice and very informative. She seems to make it easy for the rest of us at Public Storage and helps us often. Shes good at making conversation so there's no awkward silence which makes the wait on things comfortable until you're done being helped. Hope to get her again in the future!

I don't understand the negative reviews here. Perhaps the main clientele they serve do not "Yelp". They service a very underserved population (the elderly & their neighbors). I actually think this branch has gone above & beyond in many respects. I called numerous WF branches looking for safe deposit boxes. Not only did they actually answer their phone, but Melina proceeded to assist me to the fullest. I had made an appointment to go in to inspect & possibly rent the box since I wasn't sure if the size would be adequate. Melina gladly held 2 boxes for me. On the day of the appointment, we had to stand in quite a long line outside, but was glad to do it due to safety concerns during the Delta surge. When we got to the door & the very nice security guard let us in, we told her we had an appointment at 11am. We're a little late due to the line. She smiled & told us next time just come to the front for appointments. She then led us to a waiting area & even pulled up chairs for us. This is the security guard... not a banker, so this just signifies this branch's welcoming attitude. Unfortunately for us, I had gotten my days mixed up & our actual appointment was the day before. Instead of just telling us to come back another day, Jose, I think he's the branch manager, made sure we didn't waste a trip & go away empty handed. He brought out the boxes for us to inspect so we could confirm the size prior to committing to the rental. This was much appreciated! We then made an appointment to come back & complete the transaction. On the day of our 2nd appointment, Oswaldo helped us finish the process quickly & without stress. All in all, everyone we dealt with at the 16th street branch were friendly, welcoming, & efficient. We would recommend them to anyone & everyone in a heartbeat.

About a year ago I stumbled into this Bank after arriving from Europe a bit less then 24 ago. It was very nice that I only needed my passport and another European credit card to open an account. In order to build credit I also got one of those secured credit cards as one of my coworkers recommended. Now after a year I can only say it was smooth sailing with them, had to add my SSN after I got it so the credit reporting would work out but that's it. They turned the secured card into a regular one after about 10 month and also increased my limit a month or so later. As I was new to the world of US Finance I really went three a lot and could always got to talk to a banker within like 10 minutes without appointmen. All the Bankers were also very helpful.

Open later (7pm), very professional staff. Bit cramped. **NOTICE** google map shows it on the south east side of the block. This is WRONG! It is inside the Safeway directly east (right) of the entranceway. The whole mall is elevated up a floor from the surrounding sidewalks. There were some stairs on the south east side, as well as the west side (possibly more).

I came here today just to get some one dollar bills. However I didn't have my debit card. I had to give Jennifer (teller) my ID. No big deal. She is friendly and very efficient. Also went above and beyond my expectations due to I couldn't use the old one dollar bills she had given me. She was really friendly and was GENUINELY nice.

OK, now I've not only removed my business account from Wells, but I removed almost all cash from my personal account. Here's why. Wells Fargo data centers went down for over 24 hours on Feb 7. The claim was that a small fire in one of their data centers caused the entire computer system to collapse across the US, and online. Hmph. How stupid do they think we are? Your data is in FAR more than a single center, and the legal redundancy required is legendary for banks. That means they have to be backed up and prepared. So either they're lying about the reason, or something more sinister is at play. Here's the wild thing. Barclays in the UK went down JUST like Wells did, at the SAME time. My guess? There's a financial collapse coming, it's going to be worse than 2008. Research it. We're long overdue. When that happens, the first thing to go down will be big banks and Fargo will be FarGONE. In other words, Wells will be at the head of the line. Their mortgage dept, which they depend on, and where they make most of their money, is failing fast. Lay-offs aplenty have plagued Wells, branches shutting down, and now mortgages are tanking. Combined with enormous derivative exposure (what brought down so many banks in '08), Wells is poised to walk the plank first. How does the scenario play out? The first thing that will happen is at the end of the week the "system" will go down. Then the weekend will ensue. No one will be able to get any cash. Online will be kaput. This is to help stop a 'bank run'. A bank run is when hordes of people go to their bank to withdraw their cash and get it safely back into their own hands. This is what happened in Greece, it wasn't pretty and thousands lost their life savings. It also happened at Lehman in '08. In fact my lawyer had hundreds of thousands invested with Lehman and lost it all. If you think you're covered by the FDIC, think again. The amount of money they have to pay YOU out, currently, in their coffers, is about $0.04 cents on the dollar. And You are small fry compared to the big dogs, with big voices, who will be at the front of the 'pay me back' line. But smart money will all know that a collapse is coming and will be clear of Wells Fargo long before the public. I think Wells going down right before the weekend in Feb was a test. It's suspicious as hell. I immediately removed almost all cash from my Wells account and moved it to a smaller bank, privately owned, that doesn't deal in derivatives and has never been busted time and again for scamming their customers. I advise you to do the same.

Incredibly long line that moved at a snail's pace. This Wells Fargo is clearly understaffed as two tellers were there. If you're only there for a withdrawal above your limit a woman helped me use the ATM and override my limit. That helped me avoid the line but I was waiting for 20 minutes before that happened.
