The staff and store is great, but the amount of theft is not okay. People literally come in and take hella stuff and the staff can’t do anything

Wish I could give 0 or -1 star. Security likes to follow people around the store as if they are going to steal. This is the only Walgreens I’ve been to that has treated me like this on multiple occasions. I asked him if he was following me the first time, & he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about. The second time I came here, same issue. You all need to quit it, seriously. Treat your customers with kindness & respect

I usually go to this Walgreens store whenever I am on this part of Drumm Street walking down to Market Street. Although this Walgreens is quite small compared to the bigger stores, I can still usually find most of what I need, such as snacks and miscellaneous stuff. The staff and security guards are usually courteous and helpful. The store is clean and organized. I guess this Walgreens is very convenient for the hotel guests staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel across the street, they can pick up a few affordable items at this store during their stay here in the City.

Wow, the cashier is horrible, my points did not go through. Thanks for having me waste money when points didn't even add to my account. Too late to go and get it changed. What a f**king joke.

Looking at some of the pictures from 2014, I can't help but wonder if it was even from the same store. Walking in yesterday, I couldn't help but notice much of the shelves were empty or half stocked. And there were a lot of empty pegs and SKU's out of stock. Not sure if this shortage of inventory is due to Walgreen's poor performance as a company, or this location in general. Service however was friendly enough and they processed the line pretty quickly which is always a plus. This location also has a guard inside the entrance which is helpful due to the rampant homeless population that camps outside the store, as well as the high amount of shrinkage this store probably suffers from.

Stacey and Jennifer, pharmacy, are terrific--great attitude, knowledgeable and no lines. I left my last pharmacy of 20 something years because there was a 'Attitude' with a few of the pharmacy 'pic up' employees--and there was always a line--this is definitely not the case with Walgreens Drumm St., no, "don't let the door hit you on the way out" stuff-- 10 gold stars--

This Walgreens.. I have felt the guard following me. Then an employee approached me. I've never felt this way at the other locations, hence I wouldn't go back here. Go to the one around the corner with more selection and better atmosphere.

Hours are ridiculous considering the number of hotels in the area. Having to hike up to the one off Powell after 8pm on a weekend is ridiculous.

I was mistreated at Walgreens store #04492 located at 33 Drumm St, San Francisco, CA 94111 today. Very disappointing and disturbing experience. I take time to write so other customers may be aware of this store and Walgreens unfair policy. The incident was very simple. I went to the store to return an unopened item with store receipt. The staff insisted to refund me an amount less than what I paid for. She said that San Francisco County's sales tax rate is lower than Alameda County's, so I could not get back the full amount I paid. Please note: I purchased the item from Alameda County and returned at San Francisco County (The two counties are next to each other). I said that it was the purpose of the receipt. The receipt proved what I paid and I am entitled to full refund. She was very rude to me and gave me a poker face. Later the manager came. He said that he would give back the difference as a one time courtesy. However, that was not a courtesy. I deserve a full refund. It should be the end of the story. However, the female employee did not give me receipts. I asked her, "May I have my receipts back?" She did not give any receipt to me. Instead, she asked me, "what receipts should I give to you?" I said, "Isn't it the norm that you should give me the original receipt and the return receipt with both of them stapled together?". She held both receipts back to her end of counter and had no intention to give the receipts to me. I didn't have time to beg her again. I took the receipts from her hands and left. The manager shouted after me "I don't appreciate how you treated my employee!". What a total disaster! As a reputable national store, it is Walgreens responsibility to give customers receipt. I think it is required by law. For the first time in the past 20 something years, I had to fight for my receipts? I left store with disappointment and confusion. I believe that Walgreens should have trained their managers and employees before they can interact with customers. It is not just about the shortage in refund. Instead, it is about right or wrong. I understand, if a customer does not have receipt, the store can refund the customer the lowest sales value during a period of time. However, for customers with receipts, they should be refunded at the same amount and format of their original payments. Please think about the opposite situation, how about people purchase items from the county with lower sales tax rate and return at the county with higher sales tax rate? Do they get higher refund than what they paid? If no, then it is unfair. If yes, then Walgreens lost money if certain people take this advantage. I just want to help Walgreens by thinking further. To sum, I am writing to complain the shortage in refund and the receipt issue. Customers should be refunded at the receipt amount. Also, the receipts should be automatically given to customers as all retail stores do. Moreover, the female employee either covered her name or scraped her name from the name tag. She was wearing a Walgreens name tag with blank. I have been a Walgreens customer for more than 20 years. It was my first time returning any items at a Walgreens store and it was so disappointing. So think twice before you purchase anything from Walgreens. P.S.: Fortunately I saved the two receipts as evidence.

Hands-down, the best Walgreens I have ever been to. They carry a sizable stock of Asian snacks.

This was a Walgreen we stopped at when we were visiting SF. Nothing special here. It wasn't crowded. Picked up the weekly pass to the bus & tram system here.
