This is the slowest pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I have been a Walgreens customer since 1985 and this place needs more pharmacy staff to keep up with the filling of the prescriptions. When your doctor changes your prescriptions and it takes 4 full days before they can get around to it to fill it, not because they don't have it or because there's "an insurance issue they are working to resolve" but because they are 4 Days behind in filling prescriptions! It's the same problem when they are set to automatic refill. These abusive delays cause pain and need less suffering to people who are forced to go without
their medications and it takes days for them to fill it. The rest of the store is great, neat and clean and easy to find what you need quickly. The pharmacy needs to be held accountable for the repeated routine delays and suffering their delays cause. If you need a pharmacy PLEASE pick another location not the Walgreens at 1301 Market Street in San Francisco, California you could be dead before they get around to filling the life saving medications your doctors prescribed.
Update: 11/15/24. I upgraded my review from 1 ⭐ to 3 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐. Over the past couple of months this pharmacy seems to have improved a lot. I've noticed a couple of new faces and much better faster service and on time refills. If they continue to do better their rating from me will reflect it. The rest of the store is superb and has been a great place to shop for years.

Complete nightmare, full of people actively tweaking and sometimes violent. Yesterday somebody followed me out when I left while staring me down. Other days I've had people threaten me with weapons inside the store. Unfortunately I go a lot, but I recommend avoiding it.

Unfortunately it's not an option to leave a zero star rating...
Security denies me and my son entry (regular paying customers )saying " management doesn't want you here"
Only for management to tell me that she has no idea why he said that and that she needed to speak to him during my phone call to the store immediately after this happened
Sounds like the security loves to make up shit cause they are bored

I love the pharmacy service here. Made an appointment for flu and COVID vaccine at 6PM. Checked in around 5.55PM and get the injections around 6.10PM. Easy, efficient, quick, on time. Would come back for any required vaccinations in the near future.

Walgreens has always my go to store, as I can find pretty much everything we need for daily lifestyle. Thank you for always being there and serving with the best and affordable rates in the town

Regarding directions, the location is the intersection of NINTH (9th) & MARKET STREET; which is a bit interesting as the address is 1301 Market Street-Walgreen's Store #04609. Fortunately, the automatic doors have been replaced with a nice new set which hopefully will not have the intermittent opening problems. Also, like many in the city currently, the store is sometimes vandalized and stolen from.

Do not get your prescriptions sent here! Called twice after being discharged from ER to see if prescriptions were ready and they had no record of it. Then I called the ER who called them and was on hold for 23 minutes to se what was going on. Order was put in they told the ER it would be ready soon and to pick it up. 24 hours later I go to pick it up and my prescription hasn’t been processed.

I wish I didn't need to leave a 1 star review but unfortunately I do.
I came into this store today and as I approached the store the security gaurd stared me down. After I looked around and saw they didn't sell what I needed, I exited the store. On my way out, the security gaurd said "Didn't find anything?" in an accusatory tone. He was short, had facial hair and was on duty June 29 around 5:00pm.
Don't treat people like thiefs. It's disgusting behavior. Harassing people may make you feel less useless, but please stick to tweedling your thumbs and walking around aimlessly for hours to collect your minimum wage paycheck.

Security immediately stereotypes and oftentimes quickly turn violent because they "think you're going to steal". Spend your money elsewhere.

Pharmacy should be investigated by Walgreens corporate given the nature of these complaints and their pervasiveness.
Days go by , hours go by, line is always 20 people long. Hours not followed.. Each customer takes 20 minutes for what should be a 2-5 minute tops experience.
Fire entire staff. They do not work

One of the rare times I decided to pay cash and the cashier didn’t remember that I gave her a $20. So the manager had go and count the entire till, making a transaction that was supposed to be less than 5 minutes a long ordeal. “Cash” is literally in their title.

Decent selection but not located in a good area. While waiting in line, I witnessed someone getting stopped by security for shoplifting and the person in front of me tried to pay with counterfeit bills.

Security just blocked me at the door and accused me of stealing after I wasn't able to find what I needed. This was after nearly an hour of looking when told the wrong place to look by 2 different staff members. Turns out they don't even carry what I was looking for anymore. Wow!
