Do NOT take your pet here. I have a brand new puppy and I swear they take advantage of new pet owners to scam you out of money. The fees just for exams are $150 and the cost 2x what they do anywhere else. The service is terrible and I was given recommendations by "vets" that were completely insane - one of my dogs baby teeth isn't falling out so she said he would need all of his top teeth removed and then slammed me with a quote or $5k. Insanity! I also asked for the medical history records printed to bring to my new vet, they failed to remove the "communication notes" section and I was appalled at what they wrote about me - much of which was fabricated or exaggerated. Overall a terrible look on top of a HORRIBLE experience.

It seems like there is only one vet here and she is clearly over worked and I feel great sympathy for her so its the corporate leadership that I am going to complain about. I have been here for over 1.5 hrs for my appointment and the cost is astronomical. I have to skip some of my dogs treatment because the estimate is insanely high. Thousands of dollars!I miss the old All Pets Hospital that I have been going to for probably 10 years.

Yikes. Service has gone downhill majorly and cost has gone up. The renowned staff that made this place incredible all left, and patients weren't notified. The exam rooms were water damaged, filthy and stripped for parts on my visit. When presented with the estimated cost, a bunch of items were tacked on which weren't discussed with me.The vet that finally saw my dog after a 1hr 20min wait (beyond our appointment time) then fed my dog a handful of marshmallows without asking me, like what the heck? Absolutely absurd conduct and not okay. A vet of all people should check if it's ok to feed someone's dog something.Bizarre, expensive, slow, and genuinely not the standard of care this place used to uphold. After 5 years of taking my pup here, we won't be back.

I originally posted this review on Yelp - reposting it here to boost visibility for rat owners who might be considering All Pets. At this time, fellow rat keepers tell me that All Pets has, if anything, declined in its quality of care since I last visited them.I have a lot of compassion for vets and hate leaving negative reviews, but I still cry for my lost pets every day and I've decided maybe this review will at least help someone else.In September 2021 a gravely serious illness befell my pet rats. I'm an experienced rat keeper and I knew right away it was something unusual, likely (sadly) brought in by recent accidental contact with other rats. They developed severe pneumonia that wasn't responding to standard care. Their symptoms perfectly matched Sendai Virus (a highly contagious and often fatal illness).I placed an emergency appointment at All Pets, where I had received good care before, and brought in my two sickest rats. After I was already there, I was told I would be charged for 2 emergency appointments. The vet barely looked at either rat & was cold and dismissive of my concerns, claiming this was just a common respiratory illness (mycoplasma, which virtually all pet rats carry). I was chastised for administering emergency standard treatment on my own... then prescribed duplicate medication (with dosage info for only 1 rat) & told to continue with a less aggressive form of treatment than I'd already been doing. Which I had already done, and which already hadn't worked. I requested a test for Sendai. I requested antibiotic injections, oxygen therapy, or anything to boost their chances of survival. I was refused. The vet didn't seem to care at all. The visit took about 20 minutes. To add insult to injury, I was charged almost $500 for this visit. Both rats died a few days later despite my round the clock care. I took one of the remaining rats - also dying - to another emergency vet. Despite offering all the treatments All Pets refused, they were unable to save him, but they were horrified when I told him of the treatment my rats had received at All Pets. The vet said this was the worst rodent illness she'd seen in 20 years of working with rats and couldn't believe anyone could mistake it for mycoplasma. She felt the care I'd been offering before visiting All Pets was BETTER than what they had recommended. My little friend's body was sent out for testing, and - lo and behold - he had Sendai Virus. All Pets may not have been able to save my rats due to their severe illness, but there was no reason to gaslight me & ignore my concerns. There was no reason to price gouge me for nonexistent care. I left All Pets feeling like my family was completely alone, with no added tools to comfort or help my tiny friends.I have since started seeing another vet who takes the time to listen to me, respects my knowledge of my own pets, and actually seems to love working with my rat family.

$550 for a chest X-ray. Simon Med charges $80 for a human chest X-ray with no insurance. Criminal.

This place is totally gone downhill the receptionists are rude, the place is filthy, and it only has interim veterinarians. If you love your animals I recommending not taking them here.

I got a reminder to get my bunny vaccination and when I call the lady tells me they no longer see rabbits. Why send a reminder if you do not see rabbits anymore?

“Hello,I called the hospital last Wednesday to make an appointment for my dog. The receptionist had to tell me that all the doctors were leaving at the end of the week for another hospital in SF and there would be no one to see my dog. That they were trying to find replacement staff but it wasn’t looking good.Having to find out this way that my veterinarian (Dr. Gilbert) has left - no email, no phone call (still) and I have a dental cleaning I have been waiting 6 months for, and have been paying in to a plan for - is unacceptable.”

missing one of the most important vital vaccines (bordetella) during a full wellness visit!! really!? while other vaccinations were done that same day and they were all due at the same time! the dog could have seriously gotten sick because of their negligence! Thankfully we found out about this cuz we needed to share the dogs records with a different doctor for his health certification! unbelievably unprofessional- DO NOT RECOMMEND this place, if you have no other choices triple check your dogs vaccination Schedule to make sure they aren't missing anything AND FIND ANOTHER VET/VET HOSPITAL. staff needs education on how to answer questions including re service dog health certification, and not just make up an answer to send someone away because they happened to call on a very busy day! They won't return urgent voicemails either so don't bother leaving one!

Have been going here since 2013 and have had great experiences with the vets. All took time to discuss options, etc., but noticed service slowed dramatically in past five months (so not just pandemic-related) to needing seven weeks to book an appointment. Not good while I was paying more than $140 per month for the insurance plan. But now the hospital gets a 1-star rating. Why? Because all the vets quit. Yes, they have no vets. And they were about to charge me for the insurance again until I was fortunately alerted to the vet departure. Stay away until they hire and stabilize. Also would like to get a refund for paying for what looks to be an empty shell of a vet hospital.

I have had not one, not two but THEEE unfortunate experiences with VCA all pets... i owned a rabbit and she was LOVED and completely cared for by Dr. Johnston, I had yearly check ups with him and I was so satisfied. I always recommend all my pet parent friends to go there.. after he left we got a female doctor, she didn't pay much attention to her needs, she got so sick and we Took her to VCA multiple times after.... They gave me no solutions and after a while she lost all movement in her back legs and progressively got worse. They gave her two kinds of medications, not for rabbits but the bottle said for dogs.. I regret that moment and will for the rest of my life, two days later my sweet girl passed away... I didn't pay much attention to it but they didn't give me more options, no X-rays nothing. Money was never an issue....but is it because I looked like a minor that they didn't even care to give me options just quickly prescribed the first medications and called it a day?. That caused my baby's death... at least they sent a card. I was later able to get a baby boy bunny and wanted to charge me 3K for a neuter.. are they stitching them with gold?! Of course that's when I found another place all the way in Fremont CA, and they educated me on everything.. food, vitamins, what to do and not do... and he is so healthy and active I'm so thankful but at least I have to thank VCA for messing up so bad that I had to look desperately for other places even if they're outside San Francisco now I rescued a dog, I wanted to take her there to give them one more chance at least to see if they'd be more professional with dogs instead of rabbits but I was wrong, i wanted them to just check her out, she was rescued so I had no idea how her health state was and all they did was tap her around and tell me she's healthy, they never asked for what she eats or supplements or nothing, I didn't put it in the check-in questions because she had a lot and I was ready to show pictures of everything since I was prepared but no I never got asked. And I wanted to show it to the tech and the doctor but they dismissed it so quickly like if they didn't care at all! So now I'm beyond thankful that SOMA pet hospital has opened because now they will have my business for my rabbit and dog. I love them too much to loose them as well.
