248 Clement St, San Francisco“Come here for a quick gift to bring a fancy hipster toy to your next young kids birthday party. Expect to pay high prices, but in return, you get fancy packaging that feels good in your hands, as you marvel at the extra 5 minute effort the clerk spends to wrap your gift and stamp it with custom letters with the name of the recipient. The store is a joy for parents, but honestly like any fancy boutique you get concerned bringing your little ones in tow. This is a high brow gift shop, not Toys R Us.”
“Stopping in here was a highlight of our vacation! Rob is a wizard and really captured the kid’s interest and attention. His patient prodding and encouragement kept everybody entertained for way longer than I thought possible. Oh yeah, the puzzles are fantastic - we bought a few and have yet to get board! Excellent stop!”

63 Wentworth Pl, San Francisco“Ying Hobbies & Toys it's the hidden gem you never knew you needed! My wife stumbled upon this treasure while on a quest for Gunpla goodness, and boy, am I glad she did. Tucked away in a cozy spot, Ying Hobbies & Toys might play hard to get at first, but once you lay eyes on its bounty of plastic wonders, you'll be hooked. The store might be small, but it's bursting at the seams with an array of model kits that'll make any Gundam fan's heart skip a beat. Seriously, choosing just one model feels like trying to pick a favorite child - impossible and bound to hurt someone's feelings. But fear not, the guy running the place is pretty helpful. With his guidance, navigating through the sea of model kits becomes a breeze! Oh and the pricing is super fair specially for all the cool stuff you can find. So, if you're a Gundam enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the art of model kits, do yourself a favor and pay Ying Hobbies & Toys a visit. Trust me, it'll quickly become your go-to spot for all things Gunpla. Happy building, fellow plastic yelp warriors!”
“What a sweet and wonderful group of lady's running this store. You'll find everything you need for toddlers, which is especially hard about 4 years old. In between baby and kids clothes/shoes. Also the shoes I bought my son were not cheaply made Nike's that break through the toe within a month. Great stuff!”
11AM - 7PM
1737 Post St, San Francisco“Awesome store and knowledgeable staff! The dude Sean that works here on weekends is awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable about swords they sell and how to care for them. Made sure I had everything I need and knew how to maintain the blade before I left the store.”
8AM - 7PM
3545 California St, San Francisco“One of the nicest places in the city! They moved ailes in a different direction, and there are a lot more supplies and items to buy. It is also a great store to get greeting cards and toys and cleaners. Great for families!”
12 - 8PM
3253 16th St, San Francisco“Super7 has become one of my absolute FAVORITE purveyors of plastic goodness within recent years. The Supersize and Ultimates lines especially have won my business forever!”
“Mostly blind boxes. Docked 2 stars for that, but maybe people love that? So I added one back.
I bought a few woot bear stickers. Woudlnt mind if they added more of their own art items.”
“Daisi was super helpful with installation of car seat. Informative, knowledgeable and flexible with her schedule, she also gave us her contact info in case we had questions in the future.”
10AM - 8PM
39 The Embarcadero Suite 146, San Francisco“Nice big shop right on the pier. Friendly staff and a large selection. I love that you can get little souvenir tee shirts and clothes for your bear, but my kids aren’t really the souvenir type so we got Pokémon, lame!”
“You can find a bunch of great figurines, board games, etc. They have a variety of brands like Bandai, Good Smile Company, etc. Yup, nendoroids! The best shop in Japantown for figurines and authentic.”
11AM - 6PM
540 Hayes St, San Francisco“I was looking for swimwear and a sweater (both from Tea Collection) which were sold out on the company's website. After a google search for the items, I found Fiddlesticks! They have a nice selection of children's clothing as well as plush toys (I ended up buying a few more adorable plush toys from Jellycat). When I received the package today, all items were individually wrapped and there was a sweet note from the owner. Had a lovely experience shopping online. Highly recommended this store.”
“West Portal is a great place for everything and anything. Definitely stop by Growing Ip Art and Crafts. This store is packed with toys gifts and crafts for all ages. My 6-year old daughter got something, my wife got something and....I got something Lego!!!”
“My niece wanted to visit the store after her birthday brunch. We walked into the store, and it was a little difficult to push our stroller around, so we had the toddler walk around. The bigger kids were interested in the pirate supplies. We bought a few sets of zodiac dice because there is a five-dollar minimum for credit card purchases and I don't like to carry cash in the city. I would love to return to watch a show here,”
11AM - 7PM
1091 Market St, San Francisco“They have a great selection of pieces here! I've checked out some other locations before but I really liked how everything was set up here. Lots of open space and a huge selection! I was actually surprised to see a few things I wanted to buy here. I ended up getting a sweater from Nike! Was a bit disappointed to find out that it was on sale on the Nike website afterwards but it's okay! Happy to support BAIT. The workers there were so nice and thoughtful. I would definitely come back to look around again when they bring in new stuff. Keep in mind that you can refund anything after buying something. Exchanges only!”
“We like many are guilty of not writing enough deserving reviews, but our experience with Aldea & the team has left us inspired. Our whole experience shopping and learning with them has continuously left us in awe. The passion and knowledge the team shares goes above and beyond expectations, and we feel lucky to have had Aldea as a resource.
Not only did we find the majority of what we were looking for, but we were even able to book a car seat installation appointment, where you are shown, and then guided to install/uninstall the seat. In all honesty, without this guidance, us doing this alone would have involved a lot of frustration, likely ending in worry as to whether we did it correctly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Again, thank you for the continued impressionable experiences that we will share with others. You make preparing to be parents feel so much better and we cannot thank you enough. We can't wait for our next visit.”
“A very small store for the serious anime- Japanese manga type figurines/ models and other collectables and some lower cost stuff for kids/ collectors on a budget. It's one of the few I know in the general bayarea that specializes in the trade and one the few that offer some of the original Japanese heroes collectable stuffing around SF”
“Small frys is the best children clothing/shoe store in San Francisco! Whenever I am in the area for lunch or a walk, I always stop by here to get something for my daughter and son. It's also a great place to get a gift for a special little one! There's always a decent sized sales rack at the entrance. What makes this store truly amazing is the owner. My family from Ukraine recently fled the war and arrived in San Francisco. The owner reached out to me and told me she has a care package at her store waiting for my almost 6 year old nephew. I had tears when reading how generous of a person she was. Not only did she give him incredible See Kai Run shoes, but she also have super stylish pants, shirts and PJs. My family and I are forever grateful for her kindness and generosity. Thank you, thank you. Support small businesses like Small Frys!”
“We had a great experience here with Alex. He found the games I was looking for on the phone. He followed through and had the games ready for me when I arrived at the store and was very friendly and professional. Alex went above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed. Great job Alex!?? Top marks.”
“It's definitely a very cutesy type of store that sells Japanese products like Sanrio merch and many kinds of plushies. When I walked in the staff were nice and greeted me although I went on a day where there weren't many people in Japantown. I'm not this store's target demographic honestly, but it's still a fun store to browse around in when I have the time.”
11AM - 7PM
900 North Point St e204, San Francisco“This store is spectacular with so many wonderful, loving and ambience feelings shopping in here. I am an adult without children but I love the little one in me. Thank you so much for sparkles.”
“Great place to find all your tcg needs. They have a wide selection of funkos, Pokémon, one piece and sports cards. Staff is always friendly and a pleasure to interact with. Highly recommend checking them out.”
“I actually really like this shop in Japan Town. They actually have some of the best blind boxes for toys that I've ever seen. They story is on the larger side which is great, but it can get busy on a weekend so get ready to play bumper shoulders with a bunch of random folks. Still staff is pretty friendly. If you like Japanese cute toys, then this is one of the better spots outside of Japan.”
“Love this shop and people. Although the curb side thing has to go!!! Gotta have an open shop after Covid. It's been a couple years people, time to clean up those boxes and open back up.
Love this place when it's open. They have a ton of inventory. Everything from sports to comics to Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh and everything else kids are into now days.”
11AM - 6PM
2185 Fillmore St, San Francisco“I love shopping at the new location! It's cozy, friendly and welcoming. I always find something unique. The Swedish candy bag is my weakness. Get it gift wrapped, you won't be sorry”
“FUN, WELCOMING, POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL! I used to hang out here all the time in middle and high school before moving away for college! Even as a newbie kid, the community of Magic players under the leadership of D was always so friendly and welcoming! Tons of fun for a middle schooler to play and learn from the wonderful people who come to play here! Versus Games forever!”
