Highly recommend staying at the Marker hotel in San Francisco if you’re looking for a nice, safe, clean hotel with very friendly and polite staff, and an exceptional valet service. The hotel is very unique and Includes a tasty Italian restaurant. Try the spaghetti and meatballs. The room was very nice and included some free waters. I appreciate the hospitality! Will be back again. Thank you to the staff and valet services.Cost: 2 double bed room - $140 after tax. Valet is $75 but the service is very good. There’s also self parking at the garage for $50.Rooms: Rooms were very clean. Free waters!Safety: We felt very safe.Walkability: There is an Italian restaurant in the hotel, and a restaurant in the nearby hotels. After hours there is a food and liquor store directly across the street that surprisingly has a great selection. We bought Austrian cookies.Food & drinks: The Italian restaurant was good. The book kickin’ old fashioned is delicious.Noteworthy details: The valet, and front desk were very kind.

BEWARE: IF YOU HAVE A BAD STAY HERE, YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK.Although this hotel is technically four-star and has beautiful design and decor (quite frankly, the only reason why it gets a second star), I was very disappointed with my stay due to the lack of attention to detail in all aspects. To start, when I finally fully uncovered my sheets after getting ready for bed (after my initial bed bug inspection I always do when I first arrive), I felt uneasy finding a hair that was not mine in-between the sheets. It looked like it had been there a while first. Because it was late, I decided to sleep on top of the comforter for the night and call the next morning for replacements while I'm out for the day.The next morning before I left my room, I tried to call the front desk 4 times in 15 minutes, and did not get an answer a single time. A couple hours later, I was able to call again to politely let the front desk know about the sheets, and respectfully ask for new ones. I was granted new ones, but was not provided any remorse, sympathy, or even acknowledgement of my situation. Although it wasn't their fault, it's definitely not mine either.Later that night, I wanted to use the hotel's fitness room (the only amenity making this hotel 4-star, btw), and was disappointed yet again to find that the cable machine had no clips to attach handlebars! I wanted to use the Pelaton they had since I missed mine at home, but it wasn't even activated! Both issues made both machines practically useless, respectively. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner BOTH nights I stayed here as well. Everything aforementioned in addition to the weird writing hidden in the bathroom wallpaper in my room, the poor location of the hotel, the VERY expensive parking the hotel has contracted with, lack of pool/spa/coffee shop, and more not mentioned made the resort fee a joke. I definitely think you're better off staying a couple blocks in a better direction at Parc 55 or even something in the Marina.EDIT: After providing the Marker with my stay and contact information, the Director of Rooms at the Marker emailed me to follow-up on the claims I made in my initial post. Although acknowledgement was made to the lack of quality of my stay AND changes were made due to address issues to the hotel I, as a guest, pointed out (mentioned explicitly by DoR), I was not provided any refund for: my room that did not meet expectations set by the Marker, the resort fee for the "resort" with missing or dysfunctional fitness equipment and no pool/spq, AND/OR the extra $70 I paid for parking. You're better off spending your money at a place with more customer-centered business practices that commits to promises made.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a work meeting at the Market Hotel, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. A significant part of what made our stay so memorable was the outstanding hospitality provided by our host, Angeline Nouhoumon.Angeline's customer service is a rare gem in today's world. Her attention to detail, proactive approach, and genuine care for guests go beyond excellence. It's clear that she takes great pride in ensuring every aspect of our visit was perfect, from the seamless coordination of our meetings to the comfort of our accommodations. As someone who has worked with the Market Hotel on multiple occasions, I can confidently say that Angeline's dedication and the hotel's overall ambiance make it an ideal choice for both business and leisure stays. I highly recommend the Market Hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience, and I look forward to our future meetings there, knowing that we are in such capable and caring hands.Rooms: Clean

In town for work and stayed at The Marker for the first time. The room was modern, clean, and spacious. I booked a king and received a suite (thank you!) The bed was comfy, The bathroom was huge with a large jacuzzi tub. The hotel was quiet, no street noise at all. Shortly after I was in my room, an employee came to the door with a plate of snacks, spicy nuts, cute little macarons, and a bottle of imported fizzy water. There was also a handwritten note which was a nice touch. Filtered water is available along with reusable bottles. In the morning you can grab a free coffee in the restaurant. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

I read the reviews before booking but my experience was completely different. When I first arrived and opened the door to my room it smelled musty. I noticed immediately that the pillows were covered in black smeared marks. The bathroom shower was covered in mildew all along the edges and the pipes made a terribly loud noise from 12-2am. I took a video and will try to find a way to post it since Google is only allowing photos for some reason. I was told I had a $25 breakfast gift card so I made sure to not go over so it was a shock when I got the bill and it ended up being $45 for egg whites and potatoes due to random add on fees . Will not be coming back . Experience was not worth it .

Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is really quaint and cozy. The decoration are very nice and the rooms are a good size. I really liked the soft bed and the fluffy pillows. When I first got here, it was about 9:30 pm and I had a long drive. The bellhop and front desk attendant were not the most hospitable. Not exactly rude, but definitely not kind. Condescending. He would not look into whether I had something included in my reservation that was in the booking confirmation. However, the manager worked it all out and was very attentive and kind. Really a wonderful person and very hospitable. Hotel is lucky to have her. The bathroom was nice and large, and I like that they have watering stations throughout the hotel. Valet is $75, but there's a place a half a block away that's pretty safe. I felt comfortable and safe inside the hotel. Conveniently located.

Really nice hotel. Staff were super friendly. Rooms were nice and comfortable. A little bit away from the action, but great transportation nearby, with the cable car and trams 5 minutes walk.

The one bedroom suite is a beautiful room and so is the entire hotel. Our only complaint is the room gets very warm/ and there is no AC nor do the windows open. There is also no vent in the bathroom so a hot bath or shower really heats up the place as well. The spa tub is a nice touch and the room is decorated very nice. We went for a weekend staycation and would def come back. We asked for an ice bucket three separate times and they always said they would let housekeeping know and send one up but it just never came and we gave up. The location is close to Union Square, but the area is also very close to the tenderloin and with that comes some homeless camps, drug usage, and very unsanitary sidewalks. We are from the bay and knew what we were getting into location wise but someone from out of state may be surprised by the surroundings. Traveling alone I may have felt unsafe at night, but traveling with my boyfriend I felt completely fine exploring the neighborhood after dark.

Hotel was beautiful, the rooms were as advertised. Had a modern Harry Potter sitting room that was gorgeous. A sit in fireplace in the rear of the lobby with a magical ambiance. The restaurant (Tratto) was a overall nice and classy Italian vibe. Too bad I found out the workers added a tip for themselves after my takeout order. The advertised $94 a night hotel turned into $150 at the desk in which they eventually billed me for total charges of $171. All in all would I stay here again? Not on purpose when there are so many other reasonable options near by.

Hidden resort fee of $40. Room layout is old-fashioned & some renovation is needed. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Also, beware of homeless people around the hotel.

Paid for a one-night stay for my parents to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The Marker charged twice for the overnight parking. I have called twice to have the extra charge removed, and I have not been called back to resolve it. It is now 4 weeks from the original stay and more than 3 weeks since the second time I called and talked to someone about this issue. I have had to do the additional step of contesting the charge with my credit card company.
