A superb gem, opposite the infamous City Lights. A fab bookshop with truly knowledgable and passionate staff ... the collection is stunning. I urge you to visit and marvel at the world of post war (WWII) America.

Spoke to Brandon for so long. He’s a great person to talk to and I had a lot of fun at the museum because of his hospitality and generosity. Everything about this little space is special in some way. Glad it exists and glad I got to visit.
Dedicated to the poets, writers, artists, and musicians of the Beat Generation, part of the San Francisco Renaissance, the Beat Museum is an historical exhibition of the lives and work of these important artists. For the novice and the knowledgeable alike, the museum features photography, artworks, personal effects and other artifacts to tell the story of this extraordinary group of people, whose ideas changed America and the world through the 1950s and 1960s.
