This review is for Swedish American Hall and Cafe Du Nord as a wedding venue. I worked with a client of mine for months looking at different venues all over Northern California and the big search ended when we toured SAH. The couple was looking for a place they could truly celebrate and spend time with each one of their guests over a 9 hour event period. Working with the crew at SAH was a true delight as they were incredibly responsive and knowledgeable when it comes to events in their space. On the day of, their AV tech, bartenders, security and other on-site staff were accommodating and supportive. The cherry on top was walking guests down to Cafe Du Nord for a rad rainbow lit dance floor that went until 1am. Thank you all for an amazing event!

Great venue for whatever. The staff here is great. Limited bar, but it didn't take anything away from the experience. Would definitely go to shows here again.

This review is for private events at the Swedish American music hall. I put a very expensive deposit down for my partners 40th birthday right when COVID hit. They told me they would not be able to refund me my deposit at the time but that I could reschedule the event any time once it’s safe. Post COVID I’ve tried to reconnect to reschedule the event and they’ve refused to take my call or respond to email. Not cool to take advantage of people in COVID times. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR YOUR PRIVATE EVENT. If they ever get back in touch with me I will update this review.

Held a terrific private event here for 100 people. Great ambience with the lighting flexibility to create the mood we wanted. The built in stage and screen worked very well for our entertainment and slide show. We had the main hall plus a side room with windows that looked over the street for a dessert area. The staff was great to work with and partnered well with our caterer. For certain size events here I'd build a valet service into the budget as the street parking in the area can be tight.

I came in a skeptic, but with the price point of $1,500 I made a profit of $19,350. The result has been the feedback from pros and customers has been amazing in terms of profits and the customer service is one of best departments I’ve ever dealt with, and have referred 2 customers who are also very happy .

Good little party venue. Not sure about the combined restroom experience though. Not a major issue though.

Great staff. Super responsive and helpful. Reasonable pricing for SF. Odin hall was a good size but there are historical furniture pieces that cannot move which definitely did not go with the theme of the party. Overall I'd use them again.

Amazing venue. Played there way back in the day. The bartenders there were great. However there was one blond man hushing my guests while there were other noises around the back bar. It was clear that he needed to police 'other voices' he thought were inappropriate at the time. I hope the venue takes heed and educates their staff on inclusion practices.

Main room looks good. Sound is so-so to bad. I've seen multiple shows with sound issues. You can get close to the stage, but there are other venues where you can do that and the sound is good including the Great American Music Hall and The Independent.

Never thought I'd write a review of an event venue, but then I never thought I'd suffer through a concert quite that bad. My personal opinions about the artists aside -- but here they are: Deaton Chris Anthony (opener) was aggressively offensive cacophony and Dijon (headliner) did the best he could given the circumstances -- the people in charge of audio this evening (2/19/20) were unprofessional at best. It hurt to try to listen to the music that was coming from DCA. Sure, it was supposed to be loud, and perhaps his normal speaking voice is "mumbles," but not a single intelligible word came through while he was on stage. Dijon came on -- finally -- and it wasn't much better. The main difference was that some young man who worked there became aware of the sh*t audio quality and was trying to get the people in charge of the controls to do their damn job. I left four or five songs into the headliner's set because no one should have to listen to audio quality that poor. If your equipment is busted, then replace it. If your sound people are inept, then replace them.
