Great service for walk in manicure in union square. Has dips and gel. That's all I can say about a manicure.

Nails looked ugly at the end, staff was unfriendly and the store unfortunately super dirty. Not professional, can't recommend it at all. (I had a pedicure)

The spot has really been wonderful. It's near work and they always do a great job. They remember me my mom who often joins me and our preferences which is awesome considering they're always busy but know so many clients by name.

I’m here visiting from Colorado and after arriving I broke a nail! So today I was just walking around town and come up to this nail salon, I come in and say “hello, I’d like to get my nail fixed please, just ONE nail fixed. The owner woman tells me there is nobody here that does acrylic, that the lady is off today. So i say “okay well I’d like to get my toes repainted” she says u want pedicure? I tell her no, that I just got a pedicure before arriving here a couple days ago but my polish is chipped so I want them the same gel white color” she says 30$, I say okay that’s fine. As I’m sitting in the chair I notice this beautiful bright pink polish, so I ask for that instead, they kept trying to stop me from getting the polish I wanted and tried offering me other pinks gel polish. I say “ I want this polish, and since you do not have this exact color In gel, I don’t mind regular polish, the lady says “it’s not good like gel and won’t last, I then say “since I’m paying for it, I’d like the color I’m asking for, I don’t care if I have to get them repainted every day”, so she STILL, looking for a gel polish, Eventually she gives up and the older lady (I’m guessing her mom) begins to remove my gel polish off my toes. As this is happening, a lady walks in and asks for a full set of ACRYLIC nails, and low and behold the owner lady says “ have a seat, HE ( I’m guessing her husband) can do you now” the SAME owner who told me that the acrylic person is off today…I say nothing about it. The older lady finishes my toes and when I ask how much, she asks the owner who is now in the back and then she says “30$” I said 30 for what? She says a charge for taking off the gel polish” I say “so taking off the previous polish is not included in the polish change? She says no, so I say “ so the polish I have on is regular polish, on the menu it says polish change feet 15$ so you’re charging me 15$ to take off my old polish? Then the owner says ok 25… i then explain to the lady and her husband who was doing the other lady’s acrylic nails , how this is completely unfair and I say “first I come in here asking for my nail to be fixed, you lied and said nobody is here to do acrylic nails, but this lady comes in asking for a full set and your husband proceeds to start her nails, and then you overcharge me for my polish change because I decided not to get the gel polish. It was extremely unprofessional, racist, and unfair. I never raised my voice once, I am well mannered and carry myself well. I always tip well for my beauty services. And didn’t have a problem paying 30$ for gel, I just chose a polish that I liked better. And had already planned on giving her 40 for my nails because I didn’t want the change. The older lady who did my nails, was such a sweetheart, and was very kind in explaining what the owner was yelling in in the back. And yes out of my anger I gave her a dollar In coins and a .15 cent tip. I’m proud of myself for not reacting the way I would have last year, because I would’ve gave her 20$ and walked out of there and wish she would call law enforcement to explain to them why I didn’t pay an invisible gel polish removal fee. I don’t recommend coming here due to the way I was treated differently than another customer who came in after me. you can listen to the video I posted of the whole conversation. And you see why these old nail shops barely get any customers… these self taught nail artists are way better and more professional, I wish I would’ve just been patient and waited to get home to get them done and have them looking way better. I don’t see this nail shop being in business too much longer. I speak that into the universe.

I’ve been going to Sutter Nails for the past two years because their prices are affordable and they’re located close to my job. However, last three times that I went, I was completely dissatisfied with their work, but I kept coming back because I thought that mistakes can happen and I’m not usually very picky. However, last time the employees were kind of rude to me and I didn’t feel very comfortable. Plus, it feels like they completely stopped caring about the quality of their job. Also, the place feels a little bit unsanitary since of lately (or maybe because I started paying attention). They are definitely reusing their nail files on multiple clients and the sterilization pouches never have a processed mark on them. The customer service is below average, I don’t feel welcomed there.

Do not recommend. They are disrespectful and rush the process. Nails don't come out good & look a mess. Unprofessional.

The most rushed manicure ever. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The woman was more concerned about who else was in the salon than she was in providing me a decent manicure. She literally just splashed the softener and mineral oil n my cuticles. And the finished nails were cut unevenly. Terribly disappointed in the service I received. There were obviously locals in the salon receiving better service than I was. Maybe that's the key. You need to be a local. If you're from out of town I'd strongly suggest going somewhere else.

I walked into this salon on vacation hours before a wedding and they treated it like the emergent situation it was. It was a multiple team effort as they got me in and out of the salon- without wavering from their scheduled guests. The owner did my polish and PERFECTED the nails before I could even consider leaving. I've never seen a salon accommodate the way they did. All within a timely manner without compromising quality. Thank you Sutter Nails!

They overcharge for their services. Got charged my credit card a different amount from what I was told ( I had ti oat $75 and got charged $80). The ladies will file your nails however they want and not what you request. Wanted square nails and the person files them round. When I asked her to fix them, she got mad. I ended up filing them myself.
