Amazing selection of clothing. One of the best thrift stores I’ve been to and I’ve been to ones all around SF, NYC and Chicago. Fair prices and well organized. Had so much fun! Very friendly staff.

I really like this store. I think the buyers must be sharp. The manager of the women’s department is a gem.
I bought a cashmere sweater that originally retailed for about 1,400 for under 200, and is still in excellent condition. I have never had such a nice item before. The difference in quality from my Free People cashmere sweater is profound. The fancy one really is much better. I wouldn’t have picked it out for myself, but Yitka has a really good eye — it looks fantastic on me (hopefully that’s not too cocky to say, just grateful for her help).
I’m surprised by the comments saying there’s an issue with the customer service. These are good people. Warm, genuine, and experts in their field.

I have been a long-time customer of Sui Generis .The owners and employees, I consider the owners and yitka as my good friends. This consignment stores sell high-end designer clothes, handbags, jewelry, and men's designer clothing, attire sweters, jackets, suits, and men and women's designer shoes. This is a must place to look at their designer wear.

Decent store, but I can find these places overwhelming. It’s hard to figure out what’s there because there is so much. Would love it if items where better displayed or if the people there helped you out. Got flustered and left my friends there to continue shopping.

Thank you so much for your support! Although I only sell periodically, they make the process effortless and it feels trustworthy. I always feel very valued working with their business & fully supporting their mission. HIGHLY recommended. If you have not treated yourself to something truly special...you must do so by going to visit their gorgeous and well-curated shop!

They thought I was a thief because I wasn't dressed nicely enough. Rude store employees, gave me dirty looks while I was browsing. They are also more expensive than Goodbuys, and on other online places like Poshmark. The nasty employee told the other employee to put the gate down to prevent me from leaving the store cuz they thought I was stealing. Horrible experience. No, I was not wearing a mask and I was not stealing. It's actually better to consign at the real real cuz they pay up to 70% of the sale price. I shop at the real real as well as I consign there, and the prices for buyers at the real real are much better, this place is overpriced, and the styles are outdated. If you are looking for designer items at great prices, I would recommend going to the real real, also if you are looking to consign, the real real is the best place because they treat customers well, and they always pay if the item sells unlike this place, I heard some consignors are not paid on time or at all until they make a fuss about it.

Previously, I wrote a review about a negative experience with Sui Generis, about non-payment for good consigned. Thanks to that review, they paid up, right away, and responded with a classic excuse of having taken time off, confusion with mailing the payment, along with a lecture about negative reviews affecting small businesses. I get it, but someone there needs to be mindful of what they sell that doesn't automatically generate payments under $75. It was a hard won $64. - but still nice. It's too bad that they dropped the ball by not issuing payment earlier. So, thank you Yelp for lighting a fire under them.

I am sharing my experience with the online pricing. If one goes to the website, there is a way to shop online. In the Women's Jackets section, there is a Bob Mackie Jacket that is priced at over three hundred dollars. Mind you, it is black (rarer) and it new with the tags. However, this is not that unusual that one cannot purchase it online on Ebay for far, far less. In fact, may I go further to day that this consignment shop has an Ebay store. The same Bob Mackie black jacket with the tag is being sold on their Ebay store for under two hundred dollars. So you are paying a premium for their website and less at their ebay store. You can probably search the items from the website on Ebay and see if they show up... maybe for less. You can find the store on Ebay if you search their abbreviations and the word "consignment" with no space in between. SG, I mean. So buy it quick and easy on the posh site or if saving is important to you, shop on Ebay.

You'll find any designer from any era. The staff are great and knowledgeable. I could have spent all day looking at their products! This will always be a stop for me in SFO (even if I don't have room in my suitcase).

First time here and purchased a couple of great items. Ralph Lauren Purple Label silk skirt and Brixton hat. So many great brands and options here. I could have easily spent another couple of hours here. Staff was very helpful too.

This was by far the best clothing shopping experience I've ever had. The selection was amazing, there is truly something for everyone. I have a pretty difficult time finding the right outfit and the staff went out of their way to encourage me to try on as much as I could and not to be dissuaded by how it looked/sized. I will 100% be returning and their entire collection is also available online. Cannot recommend enough!
