The entrance delights : the photos on the right wall catch you attention with their playful imagery; the furniture gave me ideas but their prices wouldn’t allow me to convert ideas to actually buying ; I will revisit the store - its bookshelves that are mounted on the wall need my attention ! And so do their benches.

Some unique items, lot of recent items, most overpriced, unless you've no interest access.

The best "stuff-junk-treasure" store I have ever visited..! Weird, wonderful, treasure as if the Natural History and Architecture Museum were having a garage sale.!

Overpriced stuff. Period. Even as their closing for good.

Ridiculously over priced, to the point where you literally find yourself laughing at the prices.
And this is during their close out sale.
Staff varies from polite and helpful to abrasive and passive-aggressive.
Since they are about to close this review matters little, but never the less it is an honest opinion of my experience there.

ZERO STARS Long-time customer who has been coming here for years. Never had an issue until today when one of the vendors (Ray) accused my son of acting suspicious and was asked to leave. When asked about our behavior, they couldn't give an answer as to why he was asked to leave. Perhaps because the store was filled with white people and my son is Latino. To resolve the situation, we were told to go pick something, and he would give a "big discount" as if that makes up for racist behavior. Sad that as long-time customers, it ended this way. Thanks, Stuff, for reaffirming that racism is still alive in San Francisco. Good riddance - glad you are closing.

STUFF is closing but drop by there soon and take advantage of the sales! I have shopped at STUFF since they first opened up since I moved to the neighborhood in 2009 and needed to furnish my new place. Lots of different vendors in there with a variety of vintage items. Don't forget to go upstairs and check out all the great options up there too. Right now it seems like everything is at least 20% off and there's still lots of great stuff and the people watching isn't bad either!

It’s fun to browse, but kind of ruined by snarky/disinterested staff member. This place is closing soon anyway, but if you’re the vendor selling at case ‘DV’ please know that a member of staff repeatedly referred to your items as “junk” and “cheap”, had to be asked over 5 times over 20 minutes to open the case for us, and actively discouraged us from buying multiple jewelry items, describing them as low quality and for children. This same employee, months ago, asked me if I was buying a print “just for the frame”… why the attitude? Don’t really understand why an employee would be trying *not* to sell their own products, especially when they’re at the same time asking for donations for their staff after they shut down.Sad - genuinely liked browsing this place. Bye Stuff - I wouldn’t come back even if it stayed open.

I like stuff, and I like Stuff. I am really going to miss this wonderful place. Stuff takes itself seriously for good reason. They have a high-quality, well-designed suite of boxes, bags, pens, and other image material: bright orange, with white lettering, and a single white asterisk. Which they should, since housed within Stuff is an astounding volume of high-quality Modernist items, like that one single ceramic sculptural statue that goes for $40,000. Bakelite for days. Absolutely lovely Art Deco collection. The Stuff staff has been great over the years. They care about their own. I remember attending a live benefit concert for one of Stuff's LGBTQIA+ staff members; they hoisted a grand piano into the enormous second floor space with a crane. That level of care is beautiful and rare.
