I'm really not pleased with this school. I do not recommend it to anyone. I think some families go there for convenience not for it's non competent staff. Don't get me wrong. There's a few good ones. Some staff play favorites and don't look at the big picture in helping students in general. They won't do the right thing if it is going against someone they favor. I have a lot more to say but that's enough for now.

The principal and some of the staff in this school when my daughter studied here were horrible. They were asking for many donations through so many fundraising. If your child had a slight problem, they were so quick to point out and very discouraging. Not sympathetic at all. I had wasted so much money in this school. Very archaic system and some staff had favouritism. The principal was probably earning a lot because she was flaunting her Burberry scarf and she looked very materialistic. Don't waste your time money here. After one year, I decided to transfer my daughter to another school. The best decision I made. The one star is for some of the kind teachers.

We decided to stay. We saw how the staff lovingly handled distance learning during Covid with such heart and grace. It was obvious how much our child's teacher deeply cared about our child and the rest of her students. It showed through their interactions which we were able to witness on zoom and seesaw, and in their learning. She is an absolutely amazing teacher and we are truly blessed to have had her teach our child. We were so touched and wowed by our child's academic success and happiness that we had a change of heart.

I was a teacher at St Thomas more, I have to said that this is a inspiring school. The head of school lead by example and is very supportive. teachers are very caring and hard working. When I was reading a review that talks about a experience from long time ago, I was completely surprise. It seems that that review come from a place of anger than reality. You can not give an advice when you are talking about several years ago, It does not state the facts for the present and it is unfair. I have been a teacher for 7 years, I have worked in many places. I will said that St Thomas More is a very nurturing yet challenging environment for students. I also know that teachers, parents and students have a voice in this school, it is very progressive and a community. A very special school, beautiful work.

My daughter has been at STM since kindergarten and she loves it. She's loved all of her teachers so far. There has never been a day that she's complained about anybody in the faculty or staff. She's said that everyone at school is very nice and helpful. She's even said that Mrs. Byrne is "the best teacher in the whole wide world!" The hubby and I love STM for our daughter. The principal and teachers are great, and the office staff are very nice. We can't imagine having her at any other school.

Love the small community feel of the school. Class sizes are small and lots of opportunities for the kids to explore and learn. The 8th graders learn mentoring by getting Kindergarten buddies and the kindergartners learn from their "big bros or sis." All the families grow up together and it's easy to find a trusted family to help when you're not available. Their after school extended care is affordable and fun. My son is always asking to go to extended care! The teachers are second to none and the admin staff are very helpful. Although we moved to an area where the public schools are fine we chose to keep our kids here because of the small community feel and trusted atmosphere the teachers and staff bring to our children's education!!

My 2 boys have been attending St. Thomas More School since kindergarten (my youngest since pre-school at Utopia). When we began our search for an elementary school we considered all Catholic schools along the peninsula (from Burlingame to San Francisco) as well as independent schools. We toured over a dozen schools and found STM to be the most welcoming. It was fantastic to be toured by a current 8th grade student (STM ambassador) and see what a mature, passionate and intelligent person they have become. Also these 8th graders were very proud to show off their school - truly shows they have enjoyed their time at STM. All teachers that my boys have had are patient, smart, nurturing and kind. No matter how crazy the morning is or how busy the day gets, the front office staff always has a smile on their faces and are ready to help with whatever you need. The families who create the STM community (all from preschool to 8th grade) are very supportive of each other and are very supportive of the school. Only 12 volunteer hours are required but our STM families make sure all events from sports, the book fair and our popular cioppino fundraiser is well taken care of. It's fantastic to see our kids form life long friendships and a big bonus that us parents find another extended family. Lastly, every morning my kids cannot wait to get to school and every afternoon they have many stories to share of their day. Like the 8th grade ambassadors that gave us a tour a few years ago my boys are very proud to attend STM and are learning and thriving.
