After 3 years of coming to Sohn's for typical day-to-day clothing, I went to them to clean my wedding dress too. I know Sohn's is a bit more expensive in the area, but they quoted me 40% higher than anyone to do the wedding dress. I agreed to the price but they still asked me to pay more once the job was done. I definitely don't appreciate price changes after I'm already paying a premium and received a quote. To top it off, the cleaning of the dress tulle material was just par. Not going back.

Best quality cleaner I've ever used. If you value your clothes, and get annoyed when buttons are broken, your shirt's press is half-assed, or its tags/tails are written on, this may be the place for you, too. Sohn's has done a great job every time.

I feel obligated to warn. Lower Pac Hts address or not...$23 to dry clean a suit. Avoid.

These amazing chaps got a bad wine stain out of both my trousers and brand new white shirt. They are literally as good as new. Also did a fine, attentive job cleaning and repairing buttons on many other garments. I'll be back, that's for sure.

This is an awesome cleaner! The owner (I think) knew my name after just a couple of visits and was always friendly. The prices are a little high, but the quality is excellent. My clothes always looked fresh and nicely pressed. The alterations lady is also awesome. I had several pairs of pants hemmed here to suit my short Asian legs, and the results were very professional. Too bad this place isn't on my way home anymore or I'd definitely still be a frequent. The new dry cleaner I go to STILL doesn't know my name after over 6 months of almost weekly visits....ugh... I realize I might not be the most memorable person to some people, I guess, but 6 months is a pretty dang long time. The new place will remain nameless as I don't want my clothes to be used as napkins or tissues or toilet paper or whatever else vengeful dry cleaning people use other people's clothes for. This is the only cleaners I trust for alterations. I will still bring my hemming business here in the future even though I'm the second most lazy person I know and it means having to walk an extra 10 minutes on a slightly uphill road to get here.

Alterations: I had a basic dress taken in. The seamstress was polite and professional and the dress came out well. She also did the alterations in 2 days without an extra fee. Price: A little over priced for what you get. My short, strapless dress cost $32 to be taken in (not hemmed or dry cleaned in addition). Other: I had it altered but not dry cleaned. The dress smelled a bit stuffy when i got it back.

If only there was a way to make this review box light up and emanate a glowing and sparkling and golden light, because man, oh man, this is going to be one GOLDEN and GLOWING review for the seamstress at Sohn's French Cleaners!!! I am an avid vintage dress collector. It's really kinda ridiculous, I mean, my whole closet is filled with hundreds of them and the collection is only getting bigger since everywhere I go, I am on the hunt for more. And so after moving to the Bay Area and leaving my go to seamster back in LA, I had to find a new person to convert my 12 recently acquired gems into form fitting wonders of the fashionable world. This was a scary thought, since what if they botched them. This isn't some Forever 21 or H&M find, this is irreplaceable! And so I searched around Yelp and found Upper Market French Cleaners. People raved about what great Dry Cleaners they were and so I figured that was as good a place as any to start. After calling over there, they informed me that they didn't do alterations, but highly recommended Sohn's. A little scared, I headed over there with my bag-o-dresses and they went to it. I tried on all of them and was pinned for a good hour and as the numbers were adding up, I started thinking, damn, this place seems a bit pricey. I mean, it was averaging about $25-$35 a dress for what I figured were simple fixes like hems and darts, but I just went with it. She then told me it would be about 2 weeks and I surrendered my vintage friends and went about my day. I then came back into town and picked them up and took them home. This was going to be the moment of truth. I tried the first one on and it felt good, but the mirror test was a few feet away. I cautiously approached it and peaked around and saw.....the most perfect dress ever! Excited, I tried the next one on and again, perfect. I then turned my bedroom into a pile of plastic, paper and hangers and dresses and tried every last one on and was BLOWN AWAY at the job she did! I thought my LA guy knew his stuff, but wow, this was so pro that they look like they were created just for me!!! I will be taking ALL of my goodies here from now on and while it wasn't the cheapest place in the world, when it comes to pieces you love and you don't want to take any cheapy chances with, then come to Sohn's! They are awesome!!
