  We were skeptical about this business just because the name is kinda goofy -- but we were blown away by the service and quality we got here, at a lower price point than retail. After our experience, I can't imagine buying a couch from a chain vendor again. We were initially eyeing sofas from Restoration Hardware, but they were very expensive, and we saw that other folks complained about poor quality, delivery times, and customer support. We came in to Sofa U Love after seeing one couch on Craigslist that looked roughly similar to what we were after. We were helped out by Benny from our initial walk-in. While we had looked at other "custom" sofa places, you were mostly looking at set models with some options around fabric. Sofa U Love was able to make a mock of the RH couch we were eyeing, then let us customize everything down to the arm width, to the stitching on the cushions. Benny and the team were super communicative as it was built out, and I appreciated their design insight. Our couch came in substantially less expensive than the couch we had been eyeing, built with solid wood (vs MDF), with faster delivery time, and made in California! It's rare you don't have to make tradeoffs!

  Just go to these guys and buy a sofa. You will not regret it. The sectional I bought from them is the most beautiful piece of furniture in my whole house.

  The service in this store is perhaps the best I have ever encountered with any merchant anywhere. We were helped by Rob who has been with the company for a long time and he knows all the ins and outs of how to make a great sofa. He opines when consulted. He warns you when you are headed the wrong direction. He knows what has worked for other people. He has the patience of Job. My husband and I took about a YEAR to buy a sectional (including a few pauses).Rob held our hands every step of the way, never flinching, never showing an ounce of frustration (and we were frustrating, changed minds, changed measurements etc.) and I grew to appreciate his character, his warmth, his kindness. He knew it was bad for his business to make a quick sale. So he sweated it out with us. And now we have a sectional that we love, is gorgeous and comfortable. Built to our exact specs. And hey folks, as far as value goes, it was less expensive than the big furniture stores, made in CA with eco-standards. The delivery was fast, and the men who put the sectional together in our home were excellent. Top to bottom it was a great experience dealing with Sofa U Love. Rob is the absolute bestest of the best. We love our sectional. Life is good.

  From design to delivery, there are not enough accolades to share about Sofa's U Love! If you're looking for a new sofa, you have to make sure to go here first. Rob was incredibly helpful in finding us a perfect sofa for our family, carefully walking us through each consideration. The delivery crew was equally friendly and professional. We never felt rushed and are very happy with our purchase. You will not find a better sofa shopping experience.

  I purchased this full size Sofa U Love sofa when I started my Airbnb in July of 2023. Ever since I started people love the Airbnb but have complained about the sofa when it is turned into a bed. I tried to replace the poor mattress that came with the bed, I tried 4 or 5 and none of them addressed the sagging middle and metal bars people felt.Here are just a few of the complaints guests have left on my Airbnb site:Mallory: The place is amazing. The only downside was the bed. I didn't notice how thin the mattress was when I booked. By the third nights our backs and necks were hurting.Faune: We stayed there for one night near the end of a 10-day roadtrip from LA to SF during the unprecedented rainy weeks of early Jan 2023. This place was an oasis. The only bad part was the pull-out bed was a little saggy for my partner's back.Kelly: Thanks for everything! I wanted to let you know that the pullout couch is really sagging on the middle — might need to take a look at it! I ended up just putting the mattress on the floor last night, and that worked well!When I finally had enough I purchased the Godwin 69” Arm Sofa bed from Joss & Main on the Wayfair web site. This bed is great, it comes with a 5” spring mattress, does not sag and guests cannot feel the metal bars underneath (like you can with the Sofa U Love sofa bed).When I contacted the Sofa U Love owner (Vic) he told me the problem was I replaced his original mattress. I told him many people complained about his original mattress and he was of no help whatsoever.The bottom line is I paid $1200 for a wonderful Godwin sofa bed. The inferior Sofa U Love full size sofa bed costs nearly $3000. Sofa U Love products are totally overpriced.

  We are so thrilled with how our custom leather Chesterfield couch looks and feels! It's gorgeous and a dream sofa for us. It was so great to work with the team at Sofa U Lovd there and turn around times were much faster than Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn. So quick compared to other furniture places during this pandemic and their price point was cheaper! Everyone was so helpful with getting everything set up, they aren't a high stress sales team but are able to make great suggestions so it comes out just how you would like it. They also helped getting our old couch removed through their moving company.

  We worked with Benny at Sofa U Love to build a custom sofa for a tricky space we had and he and they did an incredible job. Benny came out to the house several times to measure and discuss design and fabrics, and the sofa we got is perfect, the perfect size and height and material, fits perfect -- we're thrilled. And it wasn't really any more expensive than any other high-end sofa. Totally worth it and I'm so glad we called them.

  I was walking down Unión St and saw Sofa U Love. At first, being in the city on Union st I thought it's probably going to be too expensive or it's a small place I won't find what I want. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only did I find exactly what I've been looking for in 5 other furniture stores but it's reasonably priced. It's extremely hard now a days to find excellent customer service matched with great prices and great quality. You will find that and more here at Sofa U Love. I left with not only purchasing the best sofa but with 2 new friends. Rob and Benny are so knowledgeable and helpful you feel like you've known them for years. They have several stores so check out which is closest to you and go there first when you're ready for your next or first sofa.

  The service! The service! The service! I can't say enough about the service. I walked in and saw a pleasant gentleman sitting at a desk and working. He greeted me and asked me if I had any questions as I wandered around looking at the couches. He did not bother me. He did not follow me around the store. He did not try to sell me anything until I started asking him questions and even then, he was not your average sales person. Not sleazy not pushy and awesome through and through! Before I go further I should note that this was in November 2021. In May 2021 I had ordered a couch from Pottery Barn. Sometime around August they canceled my order on me without letting me know and then proceeded to place another order for me. By this time in November, it has been six months since I ordered my Pottery Barn couch with no word on its whereabouts. So long story short... I found a couch I liked. I wasn't sure what to do with this whole Pottery Barn situation so I asked Rob* if I could take a swatch of fabric home which she gladly gave me, and check Pottery Barns cancellation policy. (surprise... They don't accept cancellations until the couch shows up at the loading dock.) I decided to take my chances. I came back the next day and Rob was still there. We ordered the couch and I believe it was there before Christmas. So about 5 to 6 weeks was their turnaround time. Obviously nobody can promise that these days but somehow a miracle happened. I'm giving Rob* all of the credit whether or not he was the one that waved a magic wand or not. As for the couch... It is definitely dog approved (I have three). Sometimes the brindle one in the photo climbs on top of the pillows and I have to beat the pillows back into shape after. A couple of good whacks and they're back in normal shape. I have covers on the couch just so I don't deal with dog hair as much. But all I really do to get the hair off is use a handheld vacuum. I swear I also thoroughly enjoy it. Super comfy, nappable, I wouldn't change a think about it. Oh, and it's now February 2022 and the Pottery Barn couch I ordered in May 2021 is still "on the way."

  Imagine being invited to go shopping by a friend who was just diagnosed for a knee replacement. Picture yourself hopping onto the 1 California in the Financial District and riding all the way to Fillmore where you exit the 1 and cross the street to wait for the 22 which will deliver you right to Union Street to a little "hole in the wall" retail showroom that specializes in custom sofas. I mean what can possibly be more fun than that. Really? And then the unexpected happens, or really unfolds over the next half hour. You notice the one representative, or sales person who's all the way in the back of the store, standing in an open office. He greets you. We start to walk around the store and notice a very good collection of sofas with different styles and fabrics. We sit in a couple. We move to the back of the store, next to the office and notice a beautiful sofa. The representative engages us in conversation. We learn that he owns the company, that he runs the manufacturing facility where the sofas are built and that he's in the Union Street store today, just to see how things are going. We learn more about sofas, fabrics and more than we could have possibly learned from an annual subscription to Martha Stewart. Being there as a guest, I came away appreciating that we're all different, as in built a little different in terms of height, weight and taste. I didn't sit on every sofa, but I was surprised to learn that I actually preferred some sofa designs over others. Some were just more comfortable for me. They were all beautiful. The product knowledge was there. The experience was there. We were helped and left the store feeling both excited and educated. If you know what you want, they can build it to your precise specifications. Before they ship it to you, they send you an email with a variety of photos of your sofa. You see it before it ships. We had a great time and boy do we have a home for a "Sofa U Love" manufactured sofa.

  This review is for Benny, an absolute gem!My husband and i have been searching for a couch for quite a few months and had trouble finding something that we both love. (He is very into modern and practical and I love the vintage look). After reading multiple amazing reviews on this place I decided to check it out while my husband was out of town. Little did I know I would be spending the next hour and a half with Benny discussing what I thought would be a good “compromise” of what both my husband and I were looking for.With just a few guidelines I feel like Benny knew EXACTLY what I wanted and was able to envision my style even more than I could. He let me come up with my own decisions and conclusions by guiding me in the right direction, but never feet over powering. Lets just say this man has quite the taste and talent. As much as I wanted to pull the trigger right then and there I knew what a big statement piece it was and wanted my husband to feel like a part of the decision. That being said, Benny was so confident in his product, I never felt pressured to purchase something immediately and he even told me to take my time and come back with my husband when we were ready and could come together. It has been the best feeling I have had making such a large purchase and already could not wait to come back. He was not only beyond knowledgable and kind, but also, patient and never made me feel rushed during the very long time I ended up spending in the store.Fast forward to a day ago, where I went back to the store again, but this time with my husband. Miraculously, we both agreed on every little detail we wanted for our sofa. (This never happens!) I realized that this is because not only can you tailor the height of the couch, depth of the couch, legs, stitching, fabric and or leather to make it exactly what YOU want! Benny once again listening to everything we wanted and even made us look at the color of leather in multiple different types of lighting to allow us to feel 100% confident in what we were buying. He gave us gentle recommendations on what would look best but again really left the ball on our court. This is something that takes innate talent and is far and few between.All in all, I can confidently say that Benny is beyond the best stylist, sales man and person I have ever been fortunate enough to work with. He keeps it classy, honest, and is so genuine. I cannot speak highly enough of him and am looking forward to seeing our new statement piece and making more purchases in the future!

  These guys knocked it out of the park in every respect. Our new custom sectional is completely perfect. Rob, Michael, and Vic were friendly, helpful, and never sales-y throughout the entire process. They helped us customize the couch's color, size, dimensions, material, stitching, everything - at no extra charge. Seriously, all the customizations we got were included in the price that you saw on the tag. They even helped us customize the sectional so that the configuration is reversible. After we ordered, we got a call about an hour later from them suggesting some slight modifications to the dimensions that would result in a better-looking, better-functioning sectional, which we happily accepted. Incredible attention to detail. They originally quoted us an 8 week turnaround time, but after a phone call to the factory they slashed that in half to 4 weeks. True to their word, 4 weeks later and after a seamless delivery and set up, I'm sitting on a beautiful new sectional, exactly how we wanted it, writing this review. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough.
