I can't believe it took me two years to finally find a great and affordable hairdresser near the Laurel Heights neighborhood. That's what Shi's Hair Studio is exactly. A great hair cut, with a very affordable price. Shi's is a rare jewel in San Francisco. It's now my go-to place to get mine and my family's hair cut.

Lovely lady with a good hand for cutting hairs. She is always welcoming and available most of the times. Her rates are down to earth and she is super fast.

After 5 years of being a customer at Shi's hair studio, I was extremely disappointed with the service I recieved last time. I explicitly scheduled an appointment with Shi, but instead was given another hair dresser. I showed the hair dresser a handful of images of the exact style I wanted and we verbally agreed on cutting 1-1.5 inches of hair. She ended up chopping off 3+ inches of my hair and giving me a style completely different from what I had shown. My hair is now so short I cannot even put it up. I would not recommend this hair studio anymore, they did not listen or deliver the hair style that was agreed upon.

I can't recommend this hair studio enough. I've been getting my hair cut by Shi and her colleague Chilan since I moved to San Francisco after college in 2012, and have continued to come back despite moving out of the Richmond district to Chicago and various locations around the Bay Area.Over the years coming here, I've come to consider myself not just a customer of Shi and Chilan, but a good friend as well! They are both consummate professionals and extremely reliable, not to mention warm and friendly on a personal level.We all know how difficult it can be to find a new barber, and I have remained loyal to this place because they know my hair, I always have a pleasant experience and a great hair cut on top of it. I like to tip well because of our relationship but their haircuts are reasonably priced and Shi even started selling succulents during the pandemic too!If you're looking for a new barber, whether you're a parent with young kids or a hesitant early 20s male like me that struggled for a long time to find a reliable option or anywhere in between, give this place a chance! You won't be disappointed.

Love Shi Been a life long customer, prices are awesome, and haircuts are great. The length of my hair was way past my waist, so I was REALLY due for a haircut. Went in today to Shi's for a long cut with layers all around. My hair now feels like it has more volume and it's much lighter!

Shi did a fantastic job cutting our girls' hair! They're pretty wiggly at age 2 and 4 and she handled it really well. Even had a Dora dvd to put on in the background. Highly recommend for kid's haircuts!

I've been going to Shi for a haircut ever since she started her career at Super Cuts on 9th and Irving. Over the years Shi has provided excellent cuts in a no frills environment with reasonable pricing. I love when a parent brings their toddlers in for a first cut-Shi provides a monitor with a myriad of children related videos bro watch while she works her magic! I've never witnessed a child in distress. I've moved out of the country only to return to Shi for a cut on my bi-yearly visits to the area. I now live in Marin and will drive to her location on Clement street just for a cut. Everyone always compliments my cut! Do yourself a favor and book an appointment! Cuts, color, children men and women.
