I told them to take an inch off of my dog's hair and they shaved her. If I could put zero Stars I would. They don't know what they are doing. Do not take your dog to them. Do not bother making excuses for bad grooming . I had a long hair German Shepherd and now........ If you don't know what you are doing, call the customer, not just do whatever you want. Pitiful excuse . Do I get a refund for a poor attempt of a grooming. Do not blame the customer for your failure. If you had a question, you should have called.

I am so thankful to live close to this place and be able to bring my dog here. The vibes are immaculate and they have great treats/toys. I also brought my dog here for grooming and they did a great job. They even sent me a video during and checked in with me to make sure I liked it. I highly recommend!!

$10 for self-service dog wash! No appointment necessary.
I swung by on a Wednesday afternoon to wash my brother’s dog because he was a bit musty smelling. The shop is cute, and service is nice. The one dog wash station is in the back. They provide shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner solution, and fur removal accessories. They give you two towels, and there’s a blow drying machine. Overall, a great setup for a one person dog wash operation!

Shipyard K9 has been our go to spot for dog supplies and care in the heart of 24th & Mission for close to a year. The staff is super friendly and they've been so attentive in making sure we get the snacks, toys, or services for our pup.We come here pretty regularly for grooming services as well and they have a great self service wash station! Our (sometimes stinky) pup always leaves the shop looking and smelling extra fresh.Highly recommend for any local pet owners in the Mission District and beyond!

Went here yesterday to find a gift for a cat owning friend. The owner was super friendly and had his two kids with him. One of them rang me up. I managed to find the gift I was looking for - pet friendly candles. They had a buy one get one half off deal so i got 2. I also got some dry cat food and a catnip cigar that my kitties loved. I still have to try the dry cat food for my kitty. I also got a harness for my kitty which she really tolerated. Overall I highly recommend this place; the owners were super friendly and appreciative of my business. I will try to come back.

I went in for a self bath for my Pitbull and it was great greeting and good energy, considering not everyone welcomes pitbulls into their businesses they welcomed us so nice and showed us all the tools for the bath! Everything was clean in place and convenient since I have a small tub and a big dog. Loved this place will come back!

The owner is easy to talk to and goes above and beyond for the customer. We have a bulldog with special dietary needs and the owner has gone out of his way to purchase that brand of dog food so we can shop at his store!

First and foremost, Shipyard K9 has great selection of supplies and food for your beloved furry friend. Their store is clean, well-stocked with treat options, clothes, and canned goods and has plenty of knowledgable and caring owners/workers. I recommend going here to buy your supplies. I also like that I'm supporting a small, black-owned business! Now, I'm rating this place also for its grooming services. The grooming prices are on par with other places I've been to, however, the final results were extremely disappointing. We were able to get a quick appointment and they were very flexible with scheduling. When I picked up my little guy, he was visibly upset and his fur was patchy and uneven. You could see the marks from the razor (looked like staircases, not a smooth run through), his ears were cut unevenly and too close for comfort, his armpit had long strands sticking out, his face looked like it had been cut very bluntly. It was a mess. I doubled over when I realized I could've just given him a shave and a cut at home if I knew he'd look like this. I ended up going home and fixing him up myself. While I cannot recommend this place for grooming, I do advise that you still tip service workers!! I'll stop by to buy treats and such but maybe will look elsewhere for grooming.

Awesome local pet store with tons of treats, toys, pet food, and everything else you could need. The owner was super friendly and helpful! They also have grooming services. Definitely go check this place out!
