The San Francisco Mercantile is the type of shop that puts a smile on your face when you walk in the door. The displays are pretty, and even if you didn't know that you needed to purchase something when you walked into the store, your heart will feel happier and lighter for venturing in.

This is where I go if I want to buy some SF-themed knick-knacks to give as gifts. They have a good selection of items across all price ranges. Parking is a pain (this is the Haight, after all).
