Anna quoted $55 before the haircut and charged $65 after, denying that she said $55. The cut was not like the photo I provided.

Sally is soooo nice and personable! She makes you feel comfortable right away! Took my 12 yo daughter for her first big girl haircut. My daughter showed her a photo (wolf cut) and Sally delivered exactly as expected. My daughter and I are so happy with the cut so much so that I booked an appointment for myself! My daughter has a lot of hair so it took Sally a lot longer to cut than expected (1.5 hours). Sally didn't rush, didn't make us feel uncomfortable even though her next client was waiting (poor guy!). I'll be going there for now on. Used to go to high end salon pre-pandemic but pretty happy with Sally.

Anna is such a great hairstylist! I wanted a natural hairstyle which has some volume, and she spent so much time and added many layers to it. I'm so happy about the result! Recommend her to anyone who's interested in getting a hairstyle that looks naturally good and doesn't need much time to take care of!

I have been going to Sally for about 23 years now. I live in East Oakland and will drive 45 min to an hour (depending on traffic) JUST to get a hair cut from Sally. I now am sending my teenage son, who has super curly hair, to Sally to make him look handsome!

"I TOLD YOU SO." - My husband when I finally got a haircut from Sally. Sally had been expertly cutting his hair for too many years to count but for some reason I didn't think this would necessarily translate well to women's hair. Glad I was wrong on this one. (This was the ONLY time I was EVER wrong, right hubby? Glad we agree.) For the past ~10 years, Sally has always done an excellent job with my straight Asian hair and vague instructions. ("What do I want? Um shorter? Some layers?" I am the worst.) I always walk out happy with my low maintenance haircut. I'm sure if you are higher maintenance she would be great as well since even on my hair she was extremely meticulous about making sure the lengths were even, etc. She also has a much better sense of what is "in style" for Asian hair at the moment. (Compared to me anyway. This is not a high bar.) The salon itself isn't super fancy but who cares? It is clean with lots of magazines to flip through for ideas. The best part is the price - only $55 for a woman's haircut! It includes washing and styling. Amazingly reasonable for a haircut in SF. Other plusses: I usually can get in for a haircut within the same week that I call which is helpful to those who may "occasionally" procrastinate (who me?). Also, I've never had a problem finding parking because in addition to street parking there is a parking garage nearby. And yes, you will be supporting a locally owned, family business. Thanks Sally!

I've been coming to get my hair done with Sally for the past 10 years. She is detailed and precise and always achieves the style I want for a reasonable price. I leave happy with the cut and color every time. She also tries to maintain the health of your hair. Love this salon!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! First time at this place, actually first time getting my hair done in the States(usually get it done in Korea) so i was quite anxious as I entered the place. However, my anxiety turned out to be a false-negative one quickly. I got my hair re-dyed, and Sally carefully matched my dyed color and got it done in less than 1.5 hours. I was extremely content with my new color, and even more content with the reasonable price. I'm definitely coming back this weekend for hair-styling for my college reunion. This salon will be my go-to one in the bay area for sure ?Services: Balayage

I had Sally for my first haircut here. Overall it was a great experience. She gave me the exact cut I wanted and paid a lot of attention to detail. $55 for wash, cut + style! Will be my new go to salon.

I've been going to Sally's since 2015 and I have always been satisfied with my cuts. I have only gotten haircuts there so I can't speak to their other services. I usually ask to chop off a few inches and add some layers for natural movement in my hair. I trust them to know what to do with my thick, stiff, Asian hair. Pre-COVID, the haircut price came with wash, cut, blow-dry, and style. I have not been back to the salon since the pandemic but I look forward to going back.

I've come here a handful of times now, and I gotta say, this is my new hair place! Betty is amaaazing at cutting hair. I'm pretty particular about my haircuts, especially because my hair is thin and can look flatter; however, she's able to maintain its volume and cut it the exact style and length I want. For a wash + cut + blow-dry, this is probably one of the more decent prices you can also get in the city. Ask for Betty if you need a haircut!

This salon is hideous. The sanitary standards are way below the bar. And the lack of attention to details is outrageous. 1. The towel is extremely dirty and smells disgusting like it has never been washed before. 2. My gf was forced to get a haircut she didn't ask for. The style was similar to the damage caused by dog's bite. 3. The perm was ineffective as her hair has returned to the previous state after only 2 days.

Worst salon experience in years. Was trying to look for a Japanese salon but can't manage reservation so I decided to give this place a shot. The towel they used is DIRTY with terrible smell that sticks to my hair for a week, and the overall experience feels subpar and cheap. The price, however, doesn't reflect any of this as it easily match the $$$ salon I usually go to, if not higher. The worst part is the hair perm solution they use completely washes away the color I got just a month ago. They also tried to market anything they can including a terribly greasy Chinese Korean restaurant one level above that they probably have partnership with. Overall speaking, it's cheap (experience), dirty, unprofessional, and extremely overpriced. I would avoid it at all costs.
