Honestly, if you are looking for Japanese clothing, this is the THE PLACE! The SWEETEST couple working there and not to mention SUPER friendly and helpful. We got a obi belt there and we love it. Highly recommend.

Nice clothing, egregious customer service. I asked to try on two tops, after which the woman behind the register sized me up and put one of the items back on the rack. When I asked if she didn't want me to try on the top, she said she could tell it wouldn't fit me, and said she sees big people who try on clothing that's for smaller people all the time. I insisted on trying it on to be sure, at which point she asked me "What will I do with it if you rip it?" In retrospect, I can't believe I tried both articles of clothing on (both of which fit). I can't believe she thinks speaking to customers as you would your overweight relative is acceptable. I can't believe the tops were too cute to pass up and I ended up buying both at full price.

The owners have a great selection for gifting or for yourself. This boutique has something for everyone...young, elegant, kiddie age. Some items they sell...jewelry, hair pins, tshirts, hats, scarfs, kimono, clothing, hello Kitty was being sold while I was there, Japanese print material, Japanese toe socks, lightweight fashionable coats...I have received numerous compliments on every single item I have purchased from SakuraSakura.

When I am looking for quality and unusual gifts, I always go the Sakura Sakura. The selection very tasteful and priced well. Look for the fabric items made in Japan - beautiful colors and processes. You will not find these in other stores in The City. This is one of the signature stores in Japan Center.

Nice Japanese shop with many accessories for wearing kimono that can't easily be found outside of Japan. This means there are some very difficult clientele as you can see if you read through the fascinating YELP reviews. When I was in here there was two of each, a pair of annoyingly ignorant tourists, a couple of annoyingly passionate Niponophiles, and two annoyingly cute kimo-kawaii girls. And it's a small space so yes, I was more than a little frightened but my mother was Japanese from an era when women dressed in kimono regularly and it was nice to come into a store that sells authentic Japanese. They also have pretty earrings and other nice gifts from Japan, so a good place for omiyage (well not if you're going back to Japan or Hawaii). You can dismiss the complaints about price, anyone who has been to Japan knows these prices are actually pretty good, nothing from Japan is going to be inexpensive. I found the owner to be very nice, considering her difficult clientele. She has exquisite taste in music which she plays on CDs (primitive MP3s) in what I presume to be an effort to maintain a Buddhist calm in the face of some really outrageous customers.

OMG the crafts here are amazing! The glass miniature figurines , the origami bird's earrings, the pretty yukata and tea pots/cups collections... They are mind blowing

If I can give this place no stars then I would. I used to come here all the time but yesterday was the last straw, I was with my best friend because it was her birthday and we went in here and we're looking at the yukata's one of my friends was looking at the kimonos and the guy with the glasses rushes up and pushes her a bit out of the way and he looks at the Komono then starts fixing little things by us and staring at us. I know the guy I would come all the time with my Japanese teacher but I'm not going to be harassed by some j*** of a owner. I can find prettier kimonos & yukatas on the internet for less than their prices. Beware of this place. I'm never buying from them again.

One of the few clothing boutiques in the Japan Center with a fitting room. A nice selection of traditional and modern Japanese fashions. However their styles skews to middle aged +.
