This is not an assessment of the store, but of its cashier, David. He is definitely out of place. He doesn't know how to communicate with customers. He is rude, impolite and arrogant.

Good job locking down the coffee. Especially, locking half of the coffees down is a genius idea. I nominate this store as the best Safeway in the country. Super high intelligence. Wasting 10 mins to wait on the line is an amazing feeling.

They are cool couldn’t find a more reliable affordable place to eat and shop in the area. While small, you can expect to find many of the amenities available to customers familiar with the brand. Don’t forget your club card. It’s free to sign up. Takes minutes and saves you a lot of money. Many people complain that the restroom is unavailable, but those familiar with the area know there are public restrooms available at the pier and surrounding parks.

A very special Safeway is found at the intersection of two special streets: Davis St. and Jackson St. Their BBQ Chicken Recipe Pizza is the best. I cannot wait to get another one. Ripe bananas and sweet peaches can also be found in their produce section. The Giant sesame seed buns will definitely make a good meal. Safeway’s bakery never disappoints: A six count fruit danish order made my day.

The female supermarket worker I met at the checkout at 8:30 last night, she was very impatient and very rude. I won't be going to this safeway again.

Now I've been a customer of this Safeway location for almost 3 years now. In all my time being a patron never have I witnessed such a embarrassing and childish way to address customers. Even if you may suspect 2 young men stealing food as an employee you should be able to keep your composure not to mention the 30 year age gap as the two gentleman were no older than 20 and thr worker must be 40+. The employee became irate when he accused the two young men of stealing but was quickly shut down and proven wrong. So he continued to dig his grave with derogatory remarks bordering racism. I do hope the management team sees this pony tail 40 year old as child unfit to even scan people's items and wear a fake smile for a paycheck.

The other reviewers are correct; this Safeway does not have a restroom, even though it is listed as an amenity. The restroom has been closed for years. Safeway should update their amenities list to avoid false advertising. Additionally, the quality of the hot food is very poor, reminiscent of dog food.

Very unprofessional staff who uses reverse discrimination about black people by assuming we play basketball, and we want to smoke all the time. One employee named Christine I asked to cash lottery tickets and she assumed they were fake and specifically told her 49 minutes ago three times I do not smoke but assumed as her perception. You need to hire trained, professional, and customer service friendly staff and not racist Asian immigrants who want to destroy this business.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could, refused sale of alcoholic beverages based on not accepting a Canadian ID; which is whatever but the teller was extremely rude about it

Their restroom has been “out of order “ for at least 2 months… most safeways are like this. Put a code if you don’t want the homeless to use it, but at least allow your customers to!!

This is a smaller Safeway location. It is sort of convenient as it is about five blocks from my office. They have salads for $5 if you buy two. The quality of these salads are a few notches below those at Fidi take-out restaurants. The hot food section was OK. I remember them as having a bigger selection before Covid. The checkout lines weren't bad.
