Today, I walked by this shop and there was a bin of fabric outside that said “grab bag”. The store appeared to be closed and when I walked back by 30 minute later, the bin was still outside and the store still appeared to be closed. I assumed the bins were free and took 2. As I was walking to my car, I noticed a woman yelling and screaming and gesturing to me so I walked back to see what was going on. The woman said the fabric was not free. I told this woman I was sorry and said I thought it was free and so did the people walking behind me. I also said the sign was confusing but immediately gave the bins of fabric to the woman and said I did not want it then. As I was talking to this woman, I dropped a pair of socks I had purchased at 1/2. This woman asked me if I had also stolen these socks. This woman was so completely inappropriate and rude. I answered that if I was stealing the fabric, I wouldn’t have brought it back and also that it was clear that the items in my hands had been purchased (the candles I bought were clearly wrapped). I know running a business is hard but calling a person who clearly was not stealing a thief is bad business…:

This business is a real treasure and Carole is a beautiful human being. I feel so blessed to have found that little place. Our dining chairs have been resurrected with love and care. Thank you !

Looked up RHU's website to get the address. Started to peruse some of the reviews. The review of 07/22/2022 was a curious one. What prattle from beginning to end. Malicious mongering at best. That is not what Yelp is intended to do. This woman has red-flagged herself starting with her icon portrait. Creepy. Retailers beware!

There were several red flags in my interaction with the owner that led me to seek out another businessI had a phone conversation with the owner, Carol.We agreed that she would come by my place to have a look at my chairs to be recovered and give me an estimate.I gave her my address and we agreed on a time.She told me that she never goes anywhere without her black Labrador and asked me if she could bring him and said that he was very sweet.On the day she was to arrive, she called to say she would be late.When it got to be well past the time she said she would finally arrive,I called her cell phone to see if she was ok.She stated that she had gone to a completely different street.That seemed odd, because I had given it to her on the phone at least twice.She arrived with her dog which clearly was NOT just a black lab as she had stated but looked to be part pit bull and appeared larger than a Lab.My neighbor came over with her 15 lb chihuahua mix whom I know well and has no history of hurting another dog or human.At first both dogs played, but when I offered both dogs a small treat at the same time,Carol's 88 lb dog,unprovoked ,lunged at my neighbors 15 lb dog, pinned her to the ground, and bit her in several places, drawing blood.Carol seemed very concerned at the time and offered to pay for any visit to the vet.However, when I called Carol the next day to let her know my neighbor, as a precaution, would like a vet to check out her dog,Carol became aggressive and defensive, stating it was MY fault that her dog attacked my neighbors dog,stating it was "logical"that I take the blame for what occurred.I was too stunned to debate it at the time.Carol, not being forthright about her dog,not taking any responsibility,blaming, and lack of remorse are clear warning signs to me about her character which I deem to be important when making a decision to do business with anyone especially one as expensive and irreversible as reupholstery.

The proprietors are amazing and expertise. She helped us not to re upholster a Eames Chair and instead, recommended alternate options to renew the chair. That is how you build an amazing business. They also have beautiful fabrics abs are so expert. Would recommend them highly

I just had the pleasure of working with Russian Hill Upholstery & Décor who reupholstered my 8 dining room chair seats. OMG!!! Such great attention to detail. Excellent craftsmanship. Super easy to work with. Russian Hill's owner, Carole Holt, far exceeded my expectations for a very fair price. On top of all that, her turnaround time was really fast. And, she has a really beautiful sweet dog that keeps her company during the day. FIVE STARS for Carole & Russian Hill Upholstery & Décor. Thanks Carole!!!
