I appreciate the service I got at Rex auto repair. My car had problem with the engine ignition. I gave Rex auto a call and told Jacky my car problem. I brought the car in the same day and Jacky looked through the car, explained what he thought the problem was and why. The repair was quick and the price was transparent. I’ll definitely be back for my car maintenance needs.

They have been my mechanic for years, and they worked on all my cars, from the most minor items like an oil change to bigger things like a brake job. Recently, I had an issue with my Mercedes in which the ESL (electronic steering lock) went out. I had my car towed here, and they worked on fixing it. As people know, once that piece goes out, it is a pain. For the value and time of this job, it was far better than the dealership. I would highly recommend them.

Fair price on a nice new set of brakes and rotors that are coated specifically to prevent corrosion from the salty air in the outer sunset of San Francisco. Also got an oil change and replaced a few lights they noticed were out. Quick turnaround and great customer service. Will continue taking our Jeep to Rex’s.

Took in my car for a check engine light issue. Over the phone they quoted me a hundred dollars to fix the knock sensor which is what they think was causing it but they weren’t sure. I responded with “Wow only a hundred? Ok perfect let’s try it!”. They had my car done quickly and when I can to pick it up I found out it wasn’t a hundred dollars, but eight hundred dollars. I left almost in tears. Lesson learned. Always get a paper quote. Now, almost a thousand dollars poorer, my check engine light is BACK on and I will not be returning to Rex’s.

Was running errands with my toddler today and my TPMS light came on. Come to find out I had a nail in my tire. Took my car to Rex Auto Services and they had the tire patched in less than 30 minutes!! Thanks guys!!

This shop is amazing. I brought my car in at the last minute for a flat tire, tire repair, and general checkup. They were friendly, quick and very affordable. They are knowledgeable and honest. Definitely using them as my go-to mechanic going forward. The tire they repaired for about $30 lasted me on a road trip from SF to Minneapolis and back and it’s still going strong. So glad I found them.

My car wasn’t moving and they were so kind to let me tow my car to their shop for an inspection on a very last minute notice. Even though it ended up being an electrical issue and they couldn’t fix it they didn’t charge me for the inspection. Such a kind and honest business! I would bring my car here again ?

I went to O'reileys to buy a new battery for my car and they told me that the battery wasn't the problem. I tried to leave there and my car wouldn't start. O'reileys showed me what tools I needed for my car and I walked to Rex auto services and they were generous enough to service my car in the parking lot since I couldn't start it to get to their garage. When I went to pay, she gave me a lower price than I was quoted. I was grateful for their service & kindness.

Driving, early in the morning, along Lake Merced Blvd headed towards work and suddenly heard a loud thud on the right side. Turned and looked to find my passenger side mirror smashed and falling off (unsure what I hit as the area was dark). I stopped over at an auto shop in Colma, but it wasn't open yet; however, the kind manager/owner, who was there, helped me temporarily tape up the mirror. Due to the manager's kindness, I had considered getting a quote from that particular auto shop, however, I felt it best to find one closer to home.Then Rex's Auto Services and Parkside Auto Body came to mind; inquired and received quotes from each. Took about a day or 2 to think it over. Winner: Rex's Auto Services. Sally, the front desk person, was great to work with; typically they require a deposit, but she told me if I was serious about working with them, she'd trust me and I'd pay when the repair was done. However, to show my commitment, I placed a deposit anyways. For a discontinued car, Rex was able to acquire the passenger mirror part within the next day, repair it ON the same day, and within less than 2 hours (no paint job needed)! Price point: reasonable; less than $800 with parts being more expensive than labor. Quality work: definitely. Thank you, Rex Auto Service, for your speedy, quality service!
