I had the best experience at this salon today with Angela! I had been looking for a new hair stylist in the neighborhood. I’ve tried a few salons nearby in pac heights, Hayes valley and the marina but every cut was $120-150 before tip for a simple trim.. I walked by this place and read the reviews but was still a bit nervous to try somewhere new. I’m so glad I did!!! Angela was an amazing stylist — talented and also very caring — and it was only $85 before tip. Such an incredible deal for SF. I LOVE my haircut and have been highly recommending her to all of my friends!

I had a fantastic experience with Chadd at Renaissance salon! He gave me a hair color that exceeded my expectations. Chadd asked all the right questions to ensure the color was right for me. Had a great haircut experience with Angela Liu at Renaissance Salon today.I highly recommend Angela. She is a young stylist who is building her clientele. She has great technique and really focuses on your hair and what makes sense for your lifestyle. I have long, super thick hair with a slight wave. I've had some misfortunate layered cuts that ended up just looking bushy. But Angela has gotten to know my hair quirks and takes out weight from the underside of the hair so that it's much more manageable. She asks lots of questions about my haircare routine so her cut and product recommendations make sense. She also specializes in color.Additionally, I really like the bustling, but relaxed neighborhood vibe at Renaissance. The salon gets lots of natural light from two walls of windows. They also serve an excellent coffee.

It had been two years since I had my hair cut because I was nervous about finding a stylist. After finding this establishment, looking at the reviews, I was optimistic but once I came in, the stylist, made it clear that this was a chop shop. She wanted me in and out, didn't really care to know about my hair, didn't give me any recommendations regarding what she thought would look good for me and then while washing my hair she soaked my back so terribly that my pants were drenched. Embarrassed and taken aback by her obvious lack of care for my experience, I can confidently say I won't be back and now I have to find someone to fix this mess. An absolute waste of $93!

I chose Renaissance Salon on the recommendation from a friend. This was first hair cut (yes, first that is more than a trim!) and I'm SO glad it was done by Angela! I was a bit nervous given I was cutting off more than 10 inches to donate and had never cut more an a couple inches. Angela completely understood my nerves and explained that she'd cut conservatively to make sure I was comfortable. She did a wonderful job at explaining everything she was doing - at her suggestion, we did light, long layers and some face framing pieces in the front. Angela was meticulous is measuring and cutting my hair into pony tails to donate, then washing it (with a subtle head and neck massage!), blow drying and shaping it, and adding layers. What I thought would be a 20 min quick cut turned into a 1.5 hour experience that was super relaxing! The experience at Renaissance was also wonderful! Upon arriving, they offered to hang up my coat and asked if I wanted tea, coffee, or water. The highlight of my trip was that the woman getting her hair done behind me apparently decided to cut more of her hair so she could donate it after seeing me do the same! Both Angela and I were amazed! I ended up paying $75 pre-tip for the cut, which isn't cheap but given I've spent the same for a mere trim and this was an non-routine cut, I was happy with the price. Highly recommend this salon!

Angela gave me an amazing haircut!! She fixed up my bangs and did a beautiful blowout. Everything was so covid safe as well. Will definitely be coming back as my main salon in sf.

I've been a client for 8 years and I couldn't more highly recommend this salon. Francisco helped my hair become healthy again and is very thoughtful in catering his approach to my hair needs (thin, easily damaged, fine). I've always had a positive experience with Renaissance Salon, whether it was working with Francisco or another stylist, receptionist, or the owner. Thanks for all the you do!

I love this salon! I've been coming here for over 5 years and have had a few stylists over the years and they have all been great. This is the first salon I've ever been loyal to you, after years of bouncing around. I've been seeing Hunter for the past three years or so and he is awesome. I trust him 100% and I am always thrilled with my cut and color, and I always enjoy chatting with him! Very reasonably priced, too.
