What an amazing experience today. I met Rose and the other associate (didn't catch their name). Such wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail with their house brand as well as the other brands that they carry. I am a huge fan of Lady White Co and Jungmaven. I love supporting local boutiques and made in SF pieces. I would highly recommend this shop. Bo

Reliquary is a well curated shop with a unique selection of items. I love browsing this store! Having said that, I strolled into the store on a Saturday evening, ready to get my retail therapy on. I spotted a super cool tee that I just had to have. The design was contemporary chic (100% cotton). I changed my mind the next morning because, well, it happens to people. I failed to notice the return policy right by the register which is completely my fault. The email receipt also contained a return policy hyper link however the link was not working (for whatever reason). Here comes the fun part. The sales associate mentioned that they only offer store credit within 7 days only after the fact (not while I was making the purchase). I have to carry a gift card in my wallet? Gah. When did high-end shopping stop being fun and turn into this kind of a commitment? Shock (retail) therapy. It did not end there- she asked if I had worn the tee. I purchased the tee around 6pm on a Saturday and returned it around noon on Sunday. If you're looking for a store that will make you question your right to return a tee with the tag still attached for a full refund, Reliquary in San Francisco is definitely your destination. For me, this will be the only store that serves as a reminder that even shopping can demand commitment these days. It will also serve as a reminder to shop less often and think thoroughly before any impulse buys.

Cute store but items are way overpriced. People that work there somehow feel entitled and are rude to customers. Be careful that they would also talk behind your back once you left the store with other customers present.

This place is major joke. I've bought jewelry here several times... while service is sometimes okay... the employees kinda need customer service training. First off the employees were trying clothes on talking about themselves and bodies and completely ignoring everyone in the store. After one customer tried some jewelry on and left without buying stuff the employee made jokes about that customer. I was completely shocked at theses girls... I decided not to buy anything and left. I've been in here about 4 times and have dropped $$$$ ... this is last time I will ever come in here in. You can basically buy the same stuff online with out the horrible customer service or self entitlement service.

Agree with assessments on customer service which is unnecessarily poor. I came in excited that they carry DS & Durga as that perfume is hard to find and promptly began to smell each one as I do not want to pay $195 for a bottle that does not compliment my scent. While still standing in front of said bottles trying to make a decision, the male cashier came behind me and immediately began to fix each bottle and straighten them as if I were an inconvenience and had just ruined their look. He also sighed in the process as if I were an ornery child. I was thinking of purchasing the Crystal Pistil scent but the actions of the cashier convinced me to walk out and not return. Ever.

The most stylish and chic collection of clothing, gifts, and jewelery. They carry unique, quality brands you won't find anywhere else. The staff is friendly and helpful!

This store is hands down the best kept secret of Hayes Valley. Clothing, jewelry, apothecary, and home goods, pretty much something for everyone. Amazing vintage too.

I love taking friends and family here when they come to town. They have an amazing curation of really cool pieces to wear and for the home. Good spot for gifts too! Their vintage jewelry selection is amazing and I've always had pleasant encounters with the staff. Oh, and its dog friendly :)

I stopped in for my first time today and ended up buying a comfy, linen jumper. I have the read other reviews about the sales associates being rude. They were very quiet but when I started to engage them in conversation they were friendly. Here's the thing, customer service is hard work. You have to deal with a lot of rude customers who treat you like garbage. If you want others to be friendly, show yourself friendly. Check it and out and break the tension with a kind word. You'll be glad you did. It's a beautiful little shop.

Elitist gentrification is alive and well here. Since I am not older, more wealthy looking, or more feminine looking, I was kicked out of the store accused of stealing. I am originally from SF and was very excited to check out this local store specifically for the DS and Durga fragrances as Ive lived in NY for the last five years and grew to really love their products. I was happily wearing a mask and complied with all instructions (they were asking me to not temporarily move my mask to smell the testing strips as it was hard to smell through the mask). When I turned to the kind person helping me I explained that I don't really think its necessary to require people walk in and out of the store just to smell the testing strips, the owner angrily YELLED at me accusing me of SHOPLIFTING saying I was too poor too young and since the shop had many female items and I am a male assumed I must be there to shoplift and slammed the door in my face closing the store 10 minutes early (I had been there browsing their fragrances for about 20 minutes and was cash ready). I have no idea why she claimed I was shoplifting and I have no problem with the mask mandate and was respectfully sharing how inconvenient their policy was for the shopping experience. The girl who helped me however was very kind and understanding and handled the situation very well, thank you for being more mature than your employer!

cool items in here, especially ceramics and clothing accessories. i bought a pair of lady white co socks and they came out to $30.42. yeah pretty steep, but i plan on wearing these often. the shop is clean and organized. the staff is helpful, but will allow you to browse and experience the store on your own. i prefer this! chatted with the employee after they asked about my tote bag and i said it was from the place where i work. i think the complaints about customer service are from people who think they are god's gift to earth and need special treatment. just purchase your item and be nice. idk if there are actual rude employees here, but whatever. i recommend this place

I have come into this store multiple times and I would say it is generally hit or miss. Reliquary has nice curated items; however, I went in today just to take a look and a pair of sunglasses caught my eye. I decided to purchase them, and my mother (who also frequents this store) had some store credit from a past return that she wanted to use up; so she offered me to use it on my purchase. The woman who rang me up gave us some trouble regarding the store credit, it seemed like it upset her that my mother presented her the receipt that had the returned item and the amount of store credit written on it instead of a gift card, but that was not given to my mom when she made the return. She asked my mother for her name, which my mother provided her ID, so she could look it up on the system. I guess it was not coming up on the computer and she asked us who helped with the store credit, my mother was unsure of the shop girls name who previously helped her with the return and tried to provide a description but the woman helping us kept giving attitude with "I don't know who you are talking about", she asked "what was this for?" and when we tried to explain we kept getting cut off "I know what it was" ???? And then my mom tried to say what the item she returned was, my mom got cut off "I know what item it was it's here on the receipt" "this is not how we do store credit." In the end, she did figure out that it was under my mom's full name and that's why it wasn't coming up, but I feel we could have gotten to this outcome without the accusatory tone. It seemed like she believed we forged and faked store credit to scam the store. However, if the store credit would not have worked I would have just paid full price. Also, it was not like we were demanding and being argumentative about it not coming up/working we were just patiently waiting for her to finish looking it up. She did say sorry, but it did not seem like for the attitude she gave us, but because the transaction took some time. She even forgot the item my mom wanted to purchase, but since the experience was so poor after my purchase we both just wanted to leave. I would not recommend buying something with the possible intent to return, as their return system (mostly store credit system) is not great as this experience might happen.
