What a charming hotel! So glad I chose this for a quick trip to San Francisco.Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was well-appointed, and the bed (a king) was SO comfy! I slept better than I have in chain hotels, the linens were so soft.Adored the common area! I appreciated the consistent supply of water, coffee, and tea (and coffee and sherry in the evenings!) and getting to read or just lounge in the common area was so relaxing, especially when a guest would hop on the piano and play some lovely music to accompany the fire. The furniture and decorations were so beautiful, I adored exploring the hotel to look at all the lovely touches.Only downside was the breakfast was so-so but if anything it gave me the motivation to head out the door to explore the San Francisco food scene.Walkability: Such a walkable neighborhood!

Spent two nights at this hotel and it was a pleasant stay! The hotel itself is beautiful and historic; there is so much to see from the paintings to the wall papers to the antique furniture. The room was overall fine. It was very cold in the room and the wind made the room creak pretty loudly but after a bit I was able to go to sleep. The water pressure was good in the bathroom. The neighborhood was nice as well! Very quiet and had somewhat available parking.

My family of four (incl. 2 kids) enjoyed our stay at the Queen Anne Hotel. Friendly service, clean, great location and impressive breakfast spread all for a good price. An afternoon sherry and cookie and later a log at our door for an evening fire in our room were icing on the cake. We recommend and would stay there again.

This is a lovely old Victorian small hotel. Location is safe and relatively quiet, service is very friendly. Easy walk to Japantown, five minute walk to the start of the California line cable car. The sitting areas are large with wonderful gas fires going-nice to warm up on a windy day. Breakfast is hearty if basic American. Sherry and cookies in the afternoon is a nice touch. We stayed for four nights with our two teens, so booked a suite room with master bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Rooms were spacious enough, although living room was a bit cramped when the bed was out. Bathroom was very spacious , nicely appointed. Loved that you can opend the windows for fresh air. There are heaters in the rooms as well.I gave the room only 3 stars vs. more only due to VERY uncomfortable beds. Our queen mattress seemed to slope away away from the center and seemed uneven. The sofa bed was very uneven, sloped down at both ends ( I know sofa beds are never great, but we've had more comfortable ones than this. ) The bedding was clean, rooms seemed clean. Maybe should have told the management about the beds prior to check out, but. I figured they wouldn't be able to change a mattress during our stay. On a most basic level you want to have a comfortable bed when you are travelling, so hopefully they fix that for the next traveller.Nearby activities: Five minute walk to Japantown, which is fun. The Peace Pagoda and Pavillion is actually a bit run down, needs some TLC by the city, but still worth appreciating for the history. Walk north from there through the pedestrian path for a scenic view. The restaurants in the shopping center cater to tourists- you won't find great sushi there. Fun shops to browse and pick up some gifts.Walkability: Easy 5 minute walk west then north to start of the CAlifornia Cable Car line. Buy passes ahead with the Muni Mobile app.Food & drinks: Breakfast was really a full breakfast, included boiled eggs, sausages, bagels/toas/muffins/croissants, make-your-own waffles, dry cereals, fruit. Baked goods were commerical, but you could definitely fill up and save some cash before heading out for the day. You could even make a PB&J to save for later if you have kids that need snacks. Coffee and herbal teas available 23 hrs, which is great. Sherry and cookies in the evening were very nice.Walk east to Van Ness then south to go to Tommy's Joynt for the best meat sandwiches- this coming from someone who prefers vegetarian adjacent food. Fantastic.Noteworthy details: No ghost sightings when we stayed there, but you can alwasy hope. Interesting history to the place- read about it in your in-room information.

Love Queen Anne Hotel. It's the 3rd time we've been here. We've chosen different room types each time because I want to see them all. I love the antiqued decor and furnishings. We came at Christmas time last year and it was so magical! They had decorations everywhere, and it was so cozy. Reminded me of my grandmother's home.Made it to complimentary breakfast for the first time today. Delish and wide array of breakfast choices. They have a daily tea and sherry time in the afternoon, which we sadly have not made it to. They do have tea in the living room/sitting area downstairs for guests to enjoy.Parking is $30 a night, but we always feel safe parking our vehicle there. The first time, we weren't sure because it was SF, but since then, we have felt safe. The beds and bedding are comfortable. I always sleep well when I am at the Queen Anne Hotel. It feels more like a bed & breakfast than a hotel imo.Last time we stayed, we had a fireplace in our room. It came with a log ready to be lit. At first, we were worried about ventilation, but they assured us we were good. It was nice laying in the bed, watching a movie with the fireplace going. This was also around Christmas time, so like I said, it felt magical and cozy.We love going to Sweet Maple restaurant, and it's about a 10 min walk from Queen Anne. We can also check out at 12p and leave the car in the parking lot while we sightsee for the day. This is now our "go-to" when we stay in the city. We highly recommend staying here if you are into Victorian decor.Rooms: Beautiful. Unique. Cozy. Comfortable. Has everything you need in a room. Mini fridge. The bathroom has a heater in the ceiling (at least for room 217).Safety: Feel safe while staying in The City. Which is a big deal. The neighborhood is nice and quiet.Walkability: It's walking distance from the Sweet Maple restaurant and other shops and storesFood & drinks: Complimentary breakfast each morning with delish and wide array of breakfast choices. They have a daily tea and sherry time in the afternoon. They do have tea in the sitting area downstairs for guests to enjoy.

The Pros:I think this hotel would be perfect for a themed party or for those looking for a glimpse into a bygone era. You get to stay in a little bit of history at the Queen Anne, and for that I appreciated the experience. The hotel room has all the basics you'd expect: mini-fridge, microwave, private bathrooms, standard continental breakfast. The breakfast is more than you'd expect at a Super 8 and on par with what you'd get at a Best Western. It included: waffle machine, hard boiled eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, bread, English muffins, cereal, coffee machine, juice, apples, and bananas. As a bonus, they offer a little stand with cookies and sherry from 4-6 PM.The Cons:I have a slight allergy to dust, and it was acting up in the hotel. They have lovely carpet everywhere, and there's visible dust/grime in the corners, especially on the stairs. It's not the end of the world or anything, but the place does need a deep clean. There was also a slight smell of mustiness, and we did see a couple of mouse traps, which makes me less than enthusiastic, but we never saw a mouse, so there's that.As for the location, it's a quick walk to Japantown, which was a bonus. As for everything else, it's 30-40 minute walk or bus ride to most tourist attractions, so less convenient than I would like. Also, if you're traveling with small children, this isn't perhaps the best place to stay. It's got quite a lot in the way of decor, and you'd probably have to keep reminding your kiddos to not touch things. And for those easily spooked, the theme is fun, but it does give off a vaguely haunted vibe, if you know what I mean.

A very smooth, comfortable, and friendly experience. My partner and our 7 month old kiddo had a great stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our room and the tasty breakfast. The parking across the street was definitely worth the 30 bucks extra just for its

Really awesome and cozy hotel. The staff are nice. There's also complimentary breakfast. I love all the lounge couches on the 1st floor and each floor up to the 4th. My bf and I lived on the 4th floor and would just sit and lounge. The wooden furniture are homey and beautiful. In our room, we ended up connecting the TV to my bf's laptop so we could use Netflix and watch anime. The room was super comfortable. Beds were so soft. Had a great sleep. Our bathroom had a heater. It was nice. Just no air vent though. In the room we also had a cute mini circular sun room that was divided by a curtain. I could kind of see our car from the window. One thing to beware is that there's limited parking. So you might have to drive around or pay $30/night for hotel parking. Beware that even though you buy the parking pass, the hotel parking might be full and you'll have to park off the sidewalk. We did both hotel and street parking. The nice part is that Japantown is walking distance 5-10 minutes away.

I stayed at the Queen Anne the weekend of March 17 - 19 2023I loved it! The staff was super nice, friendly and very professional,The hotel itself, beautiful! I felt I was in old San Francisco from the eighteenth hundreds, safe and clean area, their continental breakfast is more like a full breakfast, I did not do four o’clock tea because I spent most of my time out with “ my rent-a-kid “ just sightseeing SF.I highly recommend The Queen Anne Hotel, as it delivers what it’s advertised, their rates are excellent.I will definitely be staying there again.P.S.Since I was visiting “ my rent-a-kid “ who lives nearby The hotel gave me the neighborhood rate, better than AAAdiscount. (worth mentioning)Loved,Loved this hotel!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

We stayed here for a few days and found the Queen Anne to be a lovely hotel. The interior is very charming and opulent, and the rooms are very very cute. Breakfast was great, there is tea and coffee in the lobby, and they put out sherry and cookies daily at 4pm. The lobby has a wonderful community feel, and there’s a chess set to play with.

Came here for a few days with the girlfriend. We stayed in room 310 which had a fireplace. Highly recommend getting a room with a fireplace. Bed was super comfortable and the room was clean. We both love architecture and history and this place met our expectations. Will definitely stay here again. The sherry and cookies in the afternoon was a nice treat!

This is such a cool place. It's an old boarding school and has such a great atmosphere. I felt like I was stepping back into history. There are sitting rooms downstairs in the common areas with cozy fireplaces. The entire staff was so helpful and kind. The parking lot across the street is super convenient. The location is amazing with great restaurants and cute shops a few blocks away. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing!!! The service was too-notch, the room was gorgeous, the lobby is like a museum and it's Haunted!!! We stayed in October of 2020, during the pandemic. It felt safe, clean, and still enjoyable! We called last minute to see about available and got lucky enough to get a room. We arrived late and had our car packed to the hilt for a camping weekend. The concierge was so amazingly kind to let us know that we shouldn't keep anything in our car (we had parked in the street) and allowed us to wheel it all in and store it in the conference room since we were only there for the night. He then gave us a little run down of the history of the hotel and also gave us some info about late night food places so we could grab a bite to eat. We were so blown away by all the cool historic item that are placed thru out the hotel and even the room. We even did a little ghost hunting! We didn't really see anything but we definitely think we heard and felt something. We asked about it in the morning and the concierge said it was a known area for "experiences". So cool, as we had no idea! Check out was super easy and they helped us get all of our camping stuff back to the car. Highly highly recommend this place for a good nights rest and a fun experience.
