I've shopped at PlumpJack Wines for a while now, and it's always been a solid place to check for the rare and allocated whiskies. The prices, depending on what whiskies it is, has been close to MSRP or a bit higher. Aside from the popular ones, the whisky selection is pretty good and you're bound to find something interesting. It also helps to check online for bottle availability and even put yourself on the notification list. I've gotten notifications and personal emails on when rarer things come in, so that service is much appreciated! As for this particular location, it seems a bit smaller than their other store, but it's worth checking both once in awhile. You can place an order online and have it ready at either location. I think this smaller store is a bit more closer and central to the city, so I ended up going to this one more frequently.

Great staff. I went because I wanted to try a new grape and they told me all about it and looked up which wines featured the grape the best.I'll definitely be back!

I went to the store on 24th Street in Noe Valley to purchase a half bottle of port tawny wine on Memorial Day. A white woman working in the store asked me what. was looking for and I said I wanted a half bottle port tawny. She said they didn't have any in stock. Finally I picked up a half bottle of Sauterne and when I went to pay this same white woman asks me if I knew this was white wine. Because I was Asian she assumed I don't know the the difference between white and red wine or a sauterne and a port exhibiting her micro aggression on me. Needless to say I am never shopping here again.

Nobody wore masks, nobody social distanced, and we all got taxed 55% to go towards the beetle population reparations when we walked through the door. Never coming here again!

Found some east coast beers we though were impossible to find in SF. Excellent wine and liquor selection and really kind people!

I bought a bottle of cabernet here several weeks ago and it was overpriced, and of poor quality. It tasted worse than Night Train Express. I decided to give them another try and bought a California Zinfandel which was also overpriced and not very tasty.I don't care for the owner much either, he always talks down to his customers like he knows better than everyone else. Seems like a bit of an elitist, if you ask me. A while ago he was requiring all of his customers to wear masks but refused to wear one himself. What a hypocrite! I would NOT go back. Save your money and go to BevMo instead.

In addition to a great selection of wine and spirits they also have accessories, like Ray's Cocktail Eggs, little pickled quail eggs for cocktails! Yum!

I sauntered in looking for something to wash down my Barney’s turkey burger and got an amazing recommendation. I tried the 1/2 bottle of Ca Di Pian 2018 Barber D’Asti Superiore. It was delicious and a perfect fit. I’ll definitely return for more recommendations. Thank you!

Selling Expired Product is not ok. Customer service is lacking

Really weird customer service. It's bizarre how they remain open. The guys who work there are extremely condescending and I'm fairly certain they don't like their jobs. Why open a retail store if you need to talk to customers? I'll never know how these guys stay open.

I'm just a simple doordasher working in a very busy city. Sometimes too busy to really appreciate the work dashers do. Well I'll say this for sure PLUMPJACK sees us, appreciates us, and values the work we do. It was my 1st time at the location so I didn't really know what to do. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very kind, very energetic, and all around genuine newbie that was so excited to be in an industry where he can strive! We both were new at this so we worked together to try to figure out how the dashing works for the store and after a very short wait we were told the order has changed (went from 5 cases to 3 cases), no big deal however , they carried each case outside and across the street and loaded it into my car. As I went inside to make sure I had everything and was good to go, they sent me off with well wishes and apologizes for any inconvenience. I let them know the only inconvenience was the amount I was getting paid went from $20 to $10. I assured them it wasn't their fault and it was truly no big deal. I walked outside to my car and an associate came running after me and handed me $10 and said this is from us I'm a 6ft 230lb man and this act of kindness brought tears to my eyes. To no fault of theirs , they righted a wrong and I truly believe that this is the kind of act that saves lives! I'm working hard everyday to make enough money to pay my rent and every dollar counts, I even have to miss out on getting gifts for my kids this year. Though I was only Doordashing at the time, they have my business now and forever and I hope they have yours too!

Plumpjack has been a fixture in Marina and pacific heights for many years. It gets a lot of negativity because of various reason but actually it's an excellent establishment. Friendly staff, excellent selection and always estately. Its clientale are slightly older and sophisticated frequent wine drinkers who probably don't write much yelp reviews but they actually are great for yelp users too: definitely found Margaux Bordeaux for reasonable price here. $$ but not necessarily $$$. Awesome
