She's extremely standoffish and rude. My mom, sister and I went for matching heart tattoos and it was a disappointing experience. She looked pissed off that we were there LOL like we were inconveniencing her. Heart tattoo is mediocre at best. This was 3 years ago but I still reflect on this and think to myself 'what was her problem?' I hope life is inspiring her to be more approachable for someone in the service industry.

Had a lovely time with Jen. My tattoo turned out better than I envisioned. It was amazing to watch someone so skilled do their thing.

Karl is a professional and very cool cat with great taste in music! He was able to fit me in on the same day I left them a message.

I got my first tattoo here over the weekend and I have to say this place is amazing. Truthfully, I am basing that entirely off of the guy who did my tattoo. I think in situations like this that's what makes the decision. Going in, I had a preconceived notion of what to expect. Metal music playing, conceited arrogant attitudes with no friendliness or care about you as a person. Nothing could be further from the truth. My artist was Joel. Dude had to be the nicest guy ever! Very polite, sweet, "soft" in demeanor (contrary to the hard biker mentality I thought I would get), and just overall kick a** dude! The music playing was some bluesy jazz type stuff. He listened to my long diatribe of an idea to what I wanted long term, or my overall goal, and just helped me decide on what I wanted to do and helped me figure it out. By the time I was done, and the next morning, I was ready to get my second one. I'm already hooked. And when I texted Joel the next morning, dude remembered my name. So I recommend this s place for sure, and I definitely recommend Joel!

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Picture Machine and don't recommend it. I've been here 3 times for 3 different tattoos, and my last two experiences were far from extraordinary. My most recent tattoo was to honor my cousin who recently passed. Small and dainty, but so expensive. My sister had recommended Jen and we were supposed to come in together, but for scheduling reasons we couldn't make it happen. Basically my sister made my appointment and was in communication with Jen. I've never met her and when I got in, she didn't even introduce herself, but just got straight to business. I felt like I couldn't converse with her. She came off cold, so I didn't make an effort to talk to her. The process lasted no more than 30mins, only 8 Roman numerals, but cost $140. And we did not speak the entirety of that time. Honestly, I didn't question the price because I didn't make the appointment or had prior communication with her. I also don't like to come off as "cheap" - I know materials and seat time do cost money, but the fact that the experience with her was lacking made the pricing more upsetting. I'm not sure if she charges by the hour, but $140 for 30mins seems really out there. I'd rather pay that amount of money to someone that enjoys doing the work and shows it. This tattoo is very meaningful for me, and I don't think she would have cared to know that, so that made it a rather disappointing experience. It is a nice tattoo, not going to deny that, but I feel like part of the tattoo is having a pleasant interaction in the process to make it more memorable. I did not get that here this time or the last. I'm going to try and just think about my cousin when I look at the tattoo or if anyone asks me about it, and not the experience I had while getting it.

I scheduled an appointment for a time that they suggested that I come in and no one was there inside. I called multiple times and waited outside and no one ever showed up even when they were apparently open. Can't give them more than one star if they literally didn't even tattoo me on their own time that they told me to show up

Made an appointment and then showed up, but shop was closed and empty. Called to find out if anyone was going to show up, but they kept sending me to voicemail. Could communicate better, so I don't waste my time driving out to my appointment.

Came alone to piece my ears. I am terrified of needles so i was very anxious! George (the owner) helped me relax and offered water and candy. Very chill vibes. Claudia pieced my ears, i was so scared she let me hold her husbands hand. nice people, great service, i highly recommend this place! This place is AMAZING!

Great guys! Moon and Jason are legit. I was so happy both times I went. Talented. Chill. And I truly appreciate how they did their best to accommodate me with my spontaneous ideas.

My sis has been following Jen on IG for awhile now and recommended that we go to her for our next tatts. She dm'd her to book an appointment for both of us. We went during COVID restrictions so one of us waited outside for each of our turns. There's a gated waiting area with a bench and decent amount of parking with meters outside. We showed her pics of what we wanted, waited outside for about 20 mins while she drew and came back in to get it tatted. She gave us stickers and instructions for the aftercare. Overall, I had a great experience with Jen and we came back for a free touch up!

I got my first tattoo done with Jen. It was a tattoo with a lot of meaning and Jen was really kind throughout the whole process! I booked with her through Instagram and she was approachable, informational, and quick. When I got to the studio I waited a bit as Jen got everything settled and ready, WHICH IS TOTALLY NORMAL?!! If you want a custom tattoo, I think it is totally normal to be patient and wait as the artist is getting all of the stencils and the station ready!! When applying the stencils she asked for my input to make sure it was exactly the way I wanted it and then she took extra care to make sure everything was lined up correctly. Throughout the actual tattooing, she let me know when she was starting, which I appreciated. Many reviews complained about how she did speak or wasn't as interactive during the actual tattooing?? But thats because she is focusing on all the details of the tattoo and giving us the best results possible?!! I'm not quite sure what people are expecting? She was polite, understanding, and she did a great job. You are not going to Disneyland... You are paying for a good tattoo, not a magical experience. It's so weird how people are holding her to these weird expectations. She made my first tattoo experience enjoyable and I love my tattoos! Thanks, Jen:)

I got one of Jen's flash tattoos and it is great! She's friendly and easy going. I would definitely get another from her and recommend her work to any friends who are looking for a tattoo artist. I would ignore all the negative reviews about her since they are all focused on her personality not matching up to peoples' weird expectations of her. Lots of reviews from people who have never even met her in person or been tattooed by her.

This review is for Jen. If I could give her negative 5 stars I would. DO NOT GIVE HER YOUR BUSINESS! She does NOT deserve your money. Trust me! She is BEYOND disrespectfully rude. I think she actually has some issues based on her previous horrendous reviews. So I went to Picture Machine Tattoo with my sister to get a sister tattoo by Jen. When my sister and I arrived we were told to wait outside due to Covid. Understandable. After about 15 minutes of waiting (we arrived on time by the way) Jen came out, or I should say only popped her head out of the gate like my sister and I had a plague or something. She then proceeded with "so I don't even really know what you guys want?" (My sister had sent her an email two weeks prior with all the information needed for our tattoo appointment). Jen acted like she had never received any information so my sister and I gave her the run down, again, of what we wanted. We literally just wanted a hand doing the peace sign in line work with a quote. Nothing major. Jen said a total of one word in response..."okay." There was NO collaborative effort on her part. She was NOT trying to work with us at all. So she says, "okay, DM me the images that you would like," even though my sister had sent them all two weeks prior. So we send them. She then says "okay, you can sit here," and points to this small bench outside the shop. So my sister and I sat there for ONE HOUR! Jen had us sitting there in the cold for ONE WHOLE HOUR while she went and "sketched" out what we wanted. Like I said, no collaboration. There was no "okay, so what would you like, do you like this, how about that, etc, etc. What good and nice tattoo artists usually do. NADA! So when she finally comes out to show us the sketches my sister and I see that they were literally the images we DM'd her! The woman didn't even artistically add her own touch or flare. NOTHING. Jen copy and pasted the image and typed in the font. Can you believe it!? And she passed us the sketch as if she did us a favor while saying "here," and handing them to us. And you're going to tell me that that took an hour? HELL NO! So my sister and I looked at them in silence. My sister and I are basically telepathic so we were both thinking "is this girl serious?" So we tell Jen to get rid of two lines in the hands and Jen disappears for another TWENTY MINUTES. Just so disrespectful and rude and ungrateful. Just plain mean actually. My sister and I are nice people and were so excited about this tattoo. The whole experience was just so unnecessary and horrific. So the final straw was when we were about to go in to get the tattoos I asked if I could sit next to my sister and Jen said no because of city protocols, again, understandable. So I say goodbye to my sister and Jen then proceeds to push the gate open for me and then SWINGS HER ARMS in a "Get out" gesture. That was It. I couldn't even at that point. I turn to my sister and say, "No, I'm sorry but I can not get a tattoo by her." I turn to her and continue to say, "You have been so rude and disrespectful and I don't even know why." Needless to say my sister and I did not get a tattoo by her, and thank God we didn't because she had terrible reviews and we didn't even know. We are so relieved her BS tattoo isn't on our bodies, few! Dodged that bullet! It was just an awful experience. I am such a firm believer that the energy that you put out into the universe is the energy that you receive and the energy that Jen was exuding was truly purposefully mean, whether she is aware of It or not. In conclusion, being a tattoo artist you need to make people feel comfortable and collaborate well. It should be a fun and exciting experience. She doesn't do or make you feel any of that. On the contrary. Don't go to Jen. She doesn't deserve anyone's business. Periodtttttt.
