Wife and I had a great experience here. Walked in and was greeted by who I assume was the owner. He was very friendly and helpful and answered all of our questions and even let us demo a system with some vinyl we had with us.

Barry is a gem of a human--super knowledgeable and down to earth. I enjoyed listening to him passionately describe the equipment in Performance Audio's portfolio (which includes the best top end audio equipment I'm aware of, from McIntosh Labs in particular). Huge fan of their work. If I had the resources to have them 'take the reigns' on my home audio setup, I'd feel very comfortable doing so.

I have been reaching out to Barry to come back to our home to finish a project. It's been close to three months since he was last at the house. He said he'd be back within a week. That was October. It's been one excuse after the other. And for the past 2 months we've had radio silence. So if you're looking to start a project or looking for support do yourself a favor - look elsewhere. Given the price point of these services, customer service should be worlds better.

Reliable, local, honest. I've dealt with these guys for years, enough said on that front. But dig this: my 90 year old mother, who knew as much about AV equipment as she knew about weed varieties, had her TV/music system die. Or maybe she just wanted something new. Similarly, my 75 year old sister had the same needs. I told both of them to call Performance, because I haven't followed developments in the AV universe since the days of "stereo systems" and JBL speakers..Instead of loading up these two gullible customers with the most expensive stuff they could, (because it's always "The Best", right? )they listened, sold them what what they actually needed, installed it properly, and afterwards dealt with the inevitable questions and difficulties a person of A Certain Age (or any age) might have.Good luck trying that with some random Internet seller because he saved you twenty-five bucks. Or a big box store with techs who took a correspondence course in lieu of 6 getting months in the stir. Besides, Performance has good, competitive prices.

I have never had a better experience than dealing with Barry at Performance Audio. I had a problem with the input for one of the TVs they installed nearly 4 years ago and after numerous phone calls to figure the problem out Barry came to my residence to trouble shoot the problem.. They have a great selection and installers if you want them to put together a system for you.

Great selection and service. One of our TVs wasn't functioning properly four years after they put in our system. Barry spent much time on the phone helping resolve the problem, and when that didn't work (the problem was with Comcast, not Performance Audio) Barry came to my residence to trouble shoot the problem. He's knowledgeable, professional and responsive. I couldn't recommend anyone higher.

Barry & Art worked with us to do a whole home music/TV install. I can't say enough about their professionalism and level of responsiveness throughout. A fantastic experience and I highly recommend them - thanks!

Didn't get installation done here, but instead purchased a McIntosh amplifier and some Goldenear tower speakers from them. I'm quite a bit younger than a typical hifi store's clientele but Cary greeted me well and helped me listen to whatever I needed. I appreciated they don't try to sell snake oil speaker cables, and Cary was a pleasure to work with while I spent nearly two hours before pulling the trigger on the system. I could not recommend these guys more highly if you're in the market for mid to high end audio gear. The selection isn't huge but they have great gear in stock.

These guys set up my mum’s new TV, and after I told her she needed a new high speed HDMI cable to support HDR (to replace her original one), she asked them to install it. They rudely refused multiple times and told her I didn’t know what I was talking about. Anyone with a basic understanding of technical requirements for video and audio would know this. Definitely recommend going elsewhere. She paid a fortune for her new TV and setup yet they can’t be bothered to replace a 10 year-old cable to make sure it can accommodate the latest technology.

I really wanted this experience to go better, I really did and I tried. I spent somewhere between 30-40K here for 3 flat screens, a whole bunch of triads, sonos amps throughout, and savant control. My house is in San Francisco and was a 4000sf new build. I worked with Art Jackson on the front end. I had to micro manage the pre-wire as nobody bothered to take notes or work from anything other than verbal plans. When I started to complain about the process, Art told me that they were used to higher end clients and were doing me a favor by working on a project without a complete plans set. Great, thanks Art, I owe you one :) The really trouble came when it was time to trim out and install. They really blew it here time after time, they would send one tech to the house here and there to trim out. I was promised over and over that they would get a full crew there and would get it done. [For what's it worth though, the crew members, Chad and Damian were great, 5 stars for them.] After the first or second time I was pretty understanding but eventually I learned that everything Art said was dishonest (except for when he told me that the Getty's were their clients and they wouldn't dare pull off that job for sake of mine). I asked to be rerouted to another person at the store in hopes that someone would pay attention a lowly client like myself. Barry took over at the 11th hour and got my project to 95% complete. Mind you, what was a few days of work spanned over 8 weeks. Since we've reached that 95% I've had a few hang ups and the project isn't quite complete. Getting these guys to pay attention to me is nearly impossible. I recently asked for my apple TV to be relabeled (as requested about 5 times prior) and was told 9-10 days. It's since been 3 weeks and I'm being told it's computer problem. I've about had it with these guys but they say I can't do anything because the savant permissions belong to them. My bad for not knowing that on the front end, I suppose I will be married to these guys for some time but I can't say I'm happy about it. So here I am writing a review in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, someone actually cares enough about reputation to step up and do the right thing...,,
