We are regular customers of Other Avenues - it's just a few blocks away from our home. We've shopped here for 20 years. Early on there were some owner/workers who were really annoying - unfriendly know-it-alls (you might see this in reviews from years ago). But they seem to have moved on about 10 years ago - everyone we've run into the past few years have been wonderfully helpful - and friendly. The entire crew was amazing during the difficult days of the pandemic, as noted in the YouTube video "Other Avenues: Pandemic Thanks!" While we love parklets, the ones in front of that block on Judah do make it difficult to pop in while driving by, so most of our visits are limited to what we can carry home. Parking is tight also because of 2 major construction projects nearby (January 2024). Good selection of items, and their selection of bulk items is the best around. And it feels great to support a cooperative that continues to provide excellent service to the neighborhood since the 1970s.

Half the time I come here there's a dog in the store, often off leash and sometimes yapping and sniffing the produce and other food. Seems unsanitary, and since my wife is very allergic I can't really go here without expecting to have to change clothes before I go back in the house.

This is my local food coop. Im there often getting food and home necessities, health and beauty, medicinals. The staff is low key and helpful. They have walked me through tinctures, homeopathics, vitamins and more. My current favorite addition is live natto. They carry fresh take out food, vegan baked goods.... Not as large as rainbow grocery but well curated.

Love how convenient this grocery store is! It's all vegetarian, and carries lots of food from local providers around the Bay, like Rosalind Bakery and Timeless Coffee. Love the huge vegan selection, and the 5 dollar grab bags of fruits and veggies they have on occasion - in addition to the huge selection of vegan chocolate and ice cream. They also have dry bins with flour, oatmeal, spices, etc. You can weigh out exact quantities of things you need and pay for them by the pound, which is super convenient for obsure, one-off ingredients. You should bring your own containers for this if possible. They sell a membership that gives you 5 percent off, and I use mine quite a bit ;)

Finally, I found a good organic market. They have a wide range of natural and organic products. They have some fun gifts too. You do have to pay more for clean food but it is worth it. I did notice one of their lines of organic eggs was the same price as safeway. They do what they can to keep prices down. They also offer some discounts for senoirs and a few others. I like them.

I really enjoyed shopping here! Quality selection of groceries, snacks, wine, beer & health/beauty items. Great place to stop before hitting the beach.

Packed tight of unique bulk and other items nestled not far from oceanfront. Street parking was available. Like the cooperative concept. This is how it's instituted long ago. Worker-owned.

Very pricey! Okra $14.99 per pound, after looking at the prices, I didn't buy anything.

Really neat neighborhood grocery store. They have a nice selection of nuts and nut butters. There's this Hummingbird brand trail mix called "Hazelnut Munch" I discovered in Portland that's stocked here. It's a mix with roasted hazelnuts, dried cherries, and milk chocolate disks. And recently discovered my new favorite chili crisp thanks to them. The Kari Kari garlic chili crisp jar is what I imagined a good chili crisp should be. So thank you to the person who decided to stock it. They also stock bread from Rosalind bakery, but you'll need to go early to grab a loaf before they sell out for the day. Really awesome place to find new items to try.

What can I say other than it's just a great organic grocery. Impressive selection for it's size and should have more than whatever you need.
