I would not recommend this moving service. I came in with high hopes due to the reviews and how knowledgable they were about the street traffic on the street I was on but:
1: The movers wanted a few items I planned to throw away like my couch, chairs, dressers, and lamp. I was initially happy that none of that would go to waste, until I realized that wrapping it up in cloth and bubble wrap and carrying it to the truck, and carrying it out of the truck later when making room to carry my things to my new place — somehow I’m footing the bill for the time of their labor on all of that.
2: They were really slow overall with their packing. They carried each box one by one to the truck, and later when they brought it to my new place they brought stacks of 5 at once on a wheelie. Why couldn’t you have done that both ways?
3: They used Extra bubble wrap to wrap some fragile things and did not warn me there would be an extra charge. They did not ask if I wanted it wrapped
4: They broke my dresser and my TV stand by dropping them, and then had to spend time screwing / supergluing it back on. Tell me why I’m somehow charged for the time fixing what they broke. I felt like they should be compensating me, but they did fix it, I assume (can’t touch my dresser for several hours while the superglue dries.
Overall so much slower and more inefficient than companies I’ve worked with in the past. Why bubble wrap things if you’re just going to end up breaking it by dropping it. They spent lots of time reorganizing the truck (there was lots of room by the end), calling their gf about whether they wanted the chairs, and all kind of nonsense honestly. I wanted to help out to make the process faster, and they barely let me and kept trying to take things for me. No - I want you to be faster, not to help me!
And the bill at the end was kinda high for a good move and outlandish for a bad move, which this one was.

Highly competent, extremely efficient, thorough, and thoughtful. Very fair pricing, and the contract was transparent. They took great care with all my stuff and when I had some last minute changes, they were flexible. Plus, they ended up coming in under budget. Everyone at this company is a real pro: Wolf, George, Junior, Roberto, and Elias. Highly recommend and then some!

These guys were just excellent. It only took a few hours between my first call with Wolfgang, getting an estimate, and signing the moving agreement. Wolf was particularly helpful helpful regarding parking a moving truck in the city; he really knows his stuff.
Come moving day, the movers arrived precisely at the time they said they would and packed everything, with plenty of care, in about two hours. They then immediately drove to my new place and unpacked everything. None of my furniture was damaged or even scratched during the process, and the actual price of the move ended up being very close to Wolf's initial estimate.
My only complaint, and it's a small one, was that the movers didn't verbally mention the "Not to Exceed" price when I signed the contract. The price was still mentioned in the written contract, but a verbal mention have been nice.
Overall these folks are professional, timely, and easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

Highly recommend. Very professional and no hidden fees! The movers were right on time, efficient, and didn’t cut any corners. They took really good care of all my furniture and valuables while moving quickly and wasting no time. They can also provide proof of insurance which can be important when moving from an apt or condo. I did a bunch of research and talked to several moving companies before settling on this one. Most of the other moving companies that provide full white glove service (like this one does) quoted me at a WAY higher rate. Up to double the cost! When I booked the move, the rep gave me a breakdown of all the costs. When I went to pay after the move, the costs were exactly as they were described to me on the phone. If you’re fed up with paying an exorbitant price for average to below average service (very common in SF) then go with these guys. Because they provide a really good service at rate that’s actually affordable where you feel like you got a good deal.

10/10 quality! We are doing a cross country move, and we needed help loading the moving truck. Customer service was great, lots of communication leading up to the big day. The guys loaded our 16' Penske like a game of tetris- they did an amazing job. Arrived right on time too. Easy to schedule as well, and is making moving much easier on my husband and I. I would 100% use them again in the future and recommend them to any friend or family. Thanks guys!

Great service and communication! They were quick to reach back out and let us know everything that we needed to prepare in advance. They also contacted us the week of the move to make sure everything was in order. The actual moving team (Mark, Brandon, and Robert) were amazing! So efficient and friendly, everything was packed quickly and arrived in perfect condition, and they got all the big furniture broken down and put back together with skill. We’d definitely use them again for future moves and we highly recommend them to friends and neighbors!

Couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. Did a one bedroom apartment move (including partial pack). Paul and others in the office made sure we had parking and other details arranged for move in / move out, and the movers on the day were professional, friendly, and careful. Really terrific team.

Moving is such an ordeal, kind of like getting married, but Fred and all the crew at One Big Man made it as easy as possible.First, their website is so helpful. Here's how to pack, here's the stuff you need. Yes, I ordered all the moving stuff from them plus they just let me use the closet hanger boxes.Second, talking to Fred on the phone before the move, helps you think thru all the things you didn't know you had to consider...especially in San Francisco. Are you moving to an apartment on a one way street with a bus line? umm...yes, well then we're going to need to park the truck here or we can do this or that. Goodness. Who knew?Their follow up is good too - we need to have this paper that you turned in, signed and do you have any questions on anything?And then on the day of, the movers were great. Putting the finishing touches on wrapping up the furniture and then hauling it up 3 flights of stairs and oh so neatly, placing the furniture where I requested and stacking the boxes up. Really. It was wonderful. I didn't want to unpack.The next time I move, I will contact One Big Man.I do recommend them. Do yourself a favor, and hire them.

We hired OBM & OBT for a 1 bed room apartment. Throughout the entirety of the moving process they offered excellent customer service and communication. They were able to advise on how best to move our belongings and additional signage needed via SFMTA. The day of the move - the team was extremely courteous and efficient. The move was completed in no time and all items arrived at our new apartment in the same condition they left the previous apartment. Anyone looking to do a move in the SF area I would highly recommend hiring OBM & OBT.

I have hired OBMOBT 3 times in the past year and I have always been impressed by the service and professionalism. Their staff is cordial and respectful of the property, they are discreet and quiet if need be (we had a baby sleeping when they came in) . They do same house moves (which is why I hired them for)They have big trucks !!! so plan ahead if they have to park on the street. It's always best not to do it on a street cleaning day :DThey are very responsive and their charges are very clear from the beginning. They charge a base price and then go on 15min increments.

Working with these guys was a real treat! From the phone consultation to the loading of our POD to the unloading at our destination, everything about our experience with One Big Man & One Big Truck was excellent. Their prices were very reasonable relative to other quotes we received in San Francisco and they did exactly what they said they would do (eg efficiently load all of our apartment’s furniture into our POD in ~3 hours). Nothing was broke or damaged on the other end! Although I don’t anticipate needing their services ever again, I wouldn’t hesitate if the opportunity presented itself :)A+ all around!
