I've been looking for MONTHS trying to find a sit-stand desk that not only functions well but is also aesthetically pleasing. Well I finally found it at Ohio Design! Their Adler Table is a work of art and the most solid piece of office furniture I have even used. As a creative professional I want my work space to be inspiring and sitting down (or standing) to work everyday with this table does exactly that, inspires. The care for details, the simplicity of design, and the functional artisanship remind me to do the same in my craft. There are few floor samples (most of their work is custom and heads off to their clients) but their staff did their best to show me what was similar when I paid the shop a visit. The products match what is on their site so I felt confident that I was going to get what I wanted.

Really cool organic designs that use natural materials. They have these wood blocks/stools, "Blocky" as they're called. Each one is unique, and they're not actually that expensive. You should go buy me one or five.

I recently went to a sample sale at Ohio Design's Workshop at 22 Shotwell Street, and came away with some amazing and original items. First and foremost was a natural walnut table, which defines rugged elegance (ask me nicely and you can come over and see it). I believe there are some other models available to view at their Fillmore location, but each piece is an unique as the tree it comes from. I also picked up some cool trays, a few pillows, all with a simple aethestic but that would fit right into any modern home (think Dwell Magazine). David and his team can also custom-build pieces for you, and they are filled with great ideas and enthusiam for the design process. Solid and functional, nothing quite like it.
