I've been to Occidental a couple of times now, and it has quickly become the place for my friends and I to get a great drink and smoke a cigar after work; even the ones who don't smoke! The selection of cigars is fantastic and the owners mix up an excellent Manhattan. The ambience and decor of the joint is what you would expect from such an establishment and will not disappoint. Most important however, the owners make cigar smoking accessible to newer folks, and the clientele is probably the most diverse your going to find in a bar around the FiDi.I would absolutely recommend the Occidental to anyone looking to smoke a cigar and have a drink in SF.

A great cigar bar, and importantly one of the only we could find in San Francisco. You are allowed to smoke cigars indoors here.

Absolutely unique. Good cigars, fantastic selection and a mellow atmosphere that allows you to contemplate as you puff and vibe to music or chat up the interesting cast of attendants. The owner, James, alone, makes this place well worth visiting.

Nice cigar lounge. Decent selection and the bartender makes good cocktails. Place is rather small and gets quite busy on weekends. Would recommend stopping by earlier to ensure you get a seat.

Great place to burn a stick with old and new friends. My first time here featured excellent service, expert advice on cigar selection and top-shelf liquor options. Definitely a must-visit spot for the traveling cigar aficionado.

I went in to buy a Cuban? No luck!Had a fine Dominican there and took a Honduran home for later.Great crowd!1. Non-Smokers not welcome!Great to have a club where you can smoke a cigar inside even if it's raining outside!See rule 1 above.Thanks Occidental!
