“I stumbled upon this plant store while at the mall, and it’s a gem!! Lots of rare as well as common houseplants, and good bonsai selection. I found an obscure houseplant I’ve been looking for for a while. The cashier was super friendly and obviously passionate about her plants. Definitely recommend paying in cash to help support the business. I’m letting all my friends know about this store and I can’t wait to go back!”

“Having Delano provide Our Business with such fine materials and containers, gorgeous healthy blooming plants, cute, traditional basket gardens, trendy new 'Instagram' tropicals and lush full green plants keeps our customers happy and returning for more. Side by side, my customers will choose Delano plants over their competitors. Blooming plants are beautiful Now, today for the event I need them for...not waiting for them to be showy for later when the event is over. And then my customers tell me that their plant is still happy and thriving. Great Customer Service means I am having a pleasant intelligent knowledgeable staff member handle my needs, even when it's early morning. Thank you everyone at Delano, for being there when I need You! OH, and their office staff has made sure that my pre-ordered special requests are at the SF Flower Market, waiting for me. Thanks!”

“I’ve spent a small fortune over the years on plants from this nursery. They have all the common houseplants to the rarer collectibles and everything in between. Prices for most plants are competitive but the rarer ones are very pricey as to be expected. Friendly staff, big variety of plants, highly recommend.”

“Absolutely adore this shop! Fantastic service, beautiful, healthy plants. Purchased soil and it is so dark and smells like earth should!I especially love that pet friendly plants are marked (with adorable paw prints) as both my cat and dog like to graze if they somehow manage to get up to the plants.”

“What a great find. Came to check out California native plant's next door and “discovered “ this beautiful, well kept nursery. They have a nice, vibrant, well kept selection of native plants , sun and shade loving variety, lots of other indoor and outdoor plants. I appreciate the fact the staff was friendly, helpful and informative( this is a great plus given the few grumpy nursery owners I have encountered recently if you ask more then one question).Another big plus is their prices which are sure reasonable, allowing me to choose a nice diversity of pollinating plants that serve local bird and insect population, some medicinal plants as well”

“10/4/2024: I'd been looking forward to visiting Succulence for months, ever since my plant collection exploded with a particular fondness for succulents. I happened to be in the Bernal Heights neighborhood, so decided to finally check them out. Unfortunately, when I arrived I discovered a karate school at the address listed for Succulence. A lady inside told me they had been closed since sometime in June.

The owners have responded to other comments, stating that despite the closure of their brick and mortar store you can still contact them regarding workshops and other events. Closing a business is incredibly difficult, and I'm glad to hear they're still up and running (even if it's at a reduced capacity). To those leaving negative reviews because they arrived to find the store closed: stop. For you it's a minor inconvenience, but for the owners it's so much more. That said, it would be helpful if they added a banner on the website's homepage letting customers know the physical store closed. I wish them the best with their future ventures, and hope I get the opportunity to visit another Succulence location someday.”

“Paxton Gate is such an incredible and curious shop. I have so many items in my elementary classroom that I use to help teach kids about certain aspects of zoology, dinosaurs, and the natural world. They offer incredibly unique items that any curious patron, be they adult or guest, would love and be fascinated by. I tell everyone I know about this company and browse their site often looking for new and exciting things. They take so much care in their packaging that everything I have received arrive in perfect condition.”

“Bay Natives is truly unique. An arty nursery where you can see alot of beautiful, native plants grown in a "funky as the old San Francisco" setting. There's places to sit, bring a thermos or a picnic and relax. You can bike there, take a Heron's Head hike, sit at the skate park by the creek on Illinois, visit Building Resources, hear live music at the New Farm which borders City Grazing. Goats, chickens, live music, two gorgeous nurseries, eggs for sale it's a chance to get off your screen and walk around a truly unique area of San Francisco. Worth every second and every dollar thank you!”

“Lovely out of the way plant store. Attractive and rather busy. Good place to go if you are looking for plants for yard and garden. It's not a flower shop.”

“Great place to pick up Benjamin Moore paints. I order online and pick it up to avoid wait times (which aren’t that long but I always end up leaving with things I didn’t intend on buying ?). Great customer service and they do occasional sales! Grateful this is my neighborhood hardware store.”

“I live in the neighborhood and love this store! Recently, I had an issue with my scooter. It was missing a vital part for carrying it. Gabe willingly helped me with the issue and came up with a quick and easy solution: a carabiner. Thank you so much, Gabe!”
