The only thing to ding these guys on was that they were swamped- but that speaks to my great experience. I came in on a recommendation to get a tire replaced. They discovered when I brought it in that another tire had a nail in it. They called and let me know and I said "go ahead" (because why wouldn't you get a nail fixed? They finished the job and even cleaned the car!One thing that was also amazing was when I got stuck with work stuff down on the peninsula, they were okay with the car hanging out overnight because I couldn't get back by close. Super nice and a great job. Three thumbs up.

Great people, great service, fair prices. Hard to get an appointment as they are booked weeks in advance

Friendly and helpful. I can easily stop by just to get something checked, and do all my minor repairs, oil changes, and buy my tires here. Always good service at fair prices.

OMG - I LOVE this place. Sabrina and Fred are so helpful and honest. I help an elderly friend by bringing her car in - first for tires and now to fix the a/c. They squeezed us in, gave us options for service (and cost) and recommended that we just do the smaller repair and same money since she only drives to the grocery store once a week. They also checked the fluids, tires, etc. to make sure it was running safely for her.

If you’ve got the money to spend this is the auto repair shop for you. The staff are very friendly and they are well organized. I only used them a handful of times but they’ve always been able to get me in within a week, and never had an issues with them turning the car around in the time they said.If you are more budget conscious this shop does overcharge for both parts and labor. I get the labor, we are in SF after all, but the part markups are pretty egregious. I feel like most of their customer base has the money and don’t care anyway. If you can afford living in Noe Valley, you can probably afford it to get your vehicle serviced here.I was left with a bad taste and won’t be back after my last visit. I took my vehicle in for two issues: a check engine light due to a bad catalytic converter and an obvious knocking noise after engine start.I approved the catalytic converter work even though it was overpriced, I expected them to overcharge. I had a bit of time pressure because the vehicle was going on a trip ~1.5 weeks after my initial appointment. I received a call from them a few days before my trip and they said they couldn’t get my converter in time BUT they could get a different converter in that’s only hundreds of dollars more expensive. Gee, how could I be so lucky?? I told them no because I’m not going to encourage that behavior in my mechanic.I want to give my mechanic the benefit of the doubt here and assume they were really doing their best to “help” me. I would do that if it wasn’t for the fact that my second issue was not resolved at all. The same knocking noise occurred the very first time I started it at home in the quiet. So I was close to $1000 in the hole and at least a week without a car with nothing to show for it.Two sketchy encounters in one visit for an overly large amount a money, I wasn’t about to give this garage my car again to make it right on the knocking sound. If you are new to the city give them a shot for their friendliness and punctuality, but your mileage may vary.

Sabrina and her team are the best! I've lived in Noe Valley since 1998 and been taking all my new cars to have serviced with them verses the dealership. Richard, Sabrina, Fred have always been trustworthy and extremely reliable. Sabrina now runs the business and is truly a ROCKSTAR! She knows her stuff, and runs an awesome shop. I would highly recommend Noe Valley Auto Works to everyone, like I have with my friends. Christina Fisher

I have spent thousands here over the years. I pulled up today have them help me secure my skid plate with four new bolts (this takes ten minutes with a drill max) and was aggressively told they couldn’t help me without an appointment. To quote the desk attendant she said “go back to jiffy lube then” effectively telling a long time customer to F off. I derive no joy from posting a one star review or hurting small business in my neighborhood, but I would hate for anyone else to be treated like I was this morning. They have forever lost my business. Don’t expect neighborly treatment from these folks.*Responding to the "Response from the owner" below*Given the number of pure fallacies in your response I felt the need to address them in order.1. Jiffy lube did not break the hardware. The hardware is rusted and coroded from natural wear and tear. Jiffy lube needed to attempt to remove the skid plate to perform a routine oil change, and their team was very helpful in trying to help me remove it, but since they are not a body shop, they did not have the right tools and instead instructed me to go somewher like Noe Auto where you will have the right drill bit. Your comment telling me to "go back to jiffy lube" was not meant to be helpful. It was said in jest, and very aggressively and sarcastically.2. I did not ask you to perform any services "off the books." I very simply proposed, as an attempted compromise, if any technician found themselves with a few minutes between shifts that I would be happy to pay them for their labor. This was an in earnest offer to adquately compensate your employees for their work.3. I absolutely did not raise my voice. In fact, I rolled up my window and drove away as your front desk attendant was still shouting at me through her facemask. I rolled up my window and left specifically to avoid the confrontation that was being initiated by your staff member.4. You guys clearly do great work given your generally strong reviews. But there does appear to be a trend in your negative reviews. The common thread is that people coming by asking for help for a few minutes in good faith (i.e., the guy who needed a jump) are met with abrupt rejection. I completely understand you have a business to run and that requires organization, and ad-hoc requests throw a wrench into that (no pun intended). But, as a neighborhood shop in a tight nit community like Noe Valley, I genuinely think your business would benefit from extending a helping hand when it's just a few minutes of effort.

Noe Valley Auto Works is the best mechanic store in San Francisco. Sabrina and Fred will welcome you with the warmest smiles and amazing customer care. The staff is the most professional, hospitable, and professional in the whole Bay Area. I also like that they return your car after repairs clean.First, I went there because it was close to my house. Then I moved to a different part of town, but I still drive across the city to bring the car to Noe Valley Auto Works. Come and see for yourself - you will not regret it.Services: Electrical repair

Such a great experience here! I came by with an emergency repair and Fred was able to help squeeze me in. The service was excellent and I didn’t feel like I was being swindled or that they were trying to sell me additional unneeded services. They also cleaned the car! I would absolutely recommend them and will be returning next time I’m in need of any auto repairs.

Got a flat tire yesterday driving home from Northern CA. Made it back to SF on my spare and called Noe Valley Auto Works this AM about fixing the flat, if possible. They had me bring the tire in shortly after, and called a few hours later to say the tire could be patched. I took the car in a few hours after that. They switched out the tires, put the spare back in my SUV hatch, and then cleaned the outside AND inside of my dirty road trip car, all for the price of the tire patch. Totally above and beyond and so, so nice to work with from start to finish. THANK YOU!! You fixed the bad finish to my great road trip.

I was performing some Land Surveying work for the city of San Francisco, and I had my work truck parked right across the street from Noe Valley Auto Works with my safety amber lights on as I was parked in a loading zone while performing some work for around an hour. I guess my truck battery was on it's way out, as when I went to start it to leave the site, it was cranking too slowly to start the engine. I needed a quick battery jump from a battery jump starter pack or another vehicle. I was like oh, bummer, but then I looked across the street and was reminded there was a auto shop right there! How convenient! I politely went over and explained my situation and asked if I could borrow their battery charger or was even prepared to pay for the time required if they did not want to offer it up. The gentleman I spoke with, while he was nice, he clearly had no compassion or neighborly spirit. He basically said, he was not sure where the battery jump starter pack was (or if they even had one?) and he was not interested in helping me with a quick jump start. I then asked if there were any other shops close by and he told me there was an Autozone, but I would have to "drive" there. Umm buddy, my truck will not start, hence why I am asking for a quick favor to gain either some business or simply to be an honorable member of society. I was decently put off by this experience as I then had to call a tow truck and wait across the street from this auto shop for about 2 hours for the tow truck driver to show up and jump my car in what took all of 25 seconds or less from the tow truck driver pulling up. What reputable auto shop claims they do not have a battery jump pack or are not willing to help with a task that would have taken less than 1 minute total of their time? During my time sitting in the truck waiting for the tow company, I saw Noe Valley Auto Works walk outside to replace the windshield wipers on a customer's vehicle. So that sums it up, if you need anything more than replacing the windshield wipers on your automobile, I would take it elsewhere.

The employees here are incredibly nice and friendly. They do great work, have very fair prices and I can tell by the quality of the people who work here that this is a very honest auto shop. Never have to worry about being overcharged or mislead

Very happy customer. I’m not a “car person” and am often at lost when my car acts up. I came in for tire change & light issue; the team quickly identified the issue and explained it to me in words I understand. The price turned out to be exactly as estimated on the front end. The service was quick and solid; unlike many other auto shops, they actually picked up every time I called. They even cleaned my car! I was very happy driving away
