Nearly everything behind the deli is wonderful, especially the cured salmon! This place is truly a treasure, and with the rotating assortment of products from a wide variety of cultures and cuisines along Russian borders, it's kind of a culinary celebration of settings the post soviet color Revolutions, and a lot of these places have some intensely wonderful food unique to Russia's southern neighbors. On the other hand, Staples like good rye bread and first class ham are worth the stop alone. If you speak a little Russian as a learner, the people here are more than kind and go out of their way to be extra nice to you ?.

Cold cut selection has been reduced. Piroshki weren't as good as I remember. Good loafs of bread.

New World Market doesn't care about anyone who doesn't drive to their shop.I live in the neighborhood and used to shop here a lot. But I can't give money to a place that is obsessed with a car centric city and pushes back against any kind of improvements to transit. I'll shop anywhere else before I come back here.Edit to address response below: It's just a very average grocery store, of which there are many better ones in the neighborhood, even on the same block.

Came in today for a small item. The store had it. Got a witch with dark hair and wearing glasses for a cashier. Used a form of payment that requires the store to provide a FREE bag with the food purchase. She charged me for the bag. I said you're not supposed to charge your customers using this form of payment for the bag. She said "I don't know! We charge!" I repeated the same statement again and got the same response. Really?! Well, if you do, you're braking the law! It's the same for every merchant! Instead of checking in with other employees to see if her understanding is correct, she started to get aggravated! She screamed that she couldn't take off the charge and practically threw the 25 cents in my face! At that point I had noticed that she had included a big cardboard box in the bag; something I didn't need or asked for! I had asked her to take it out and she got visibly angry. At that point she began shoving the items I bought in a small free bag and threw it at me with a burst of cusswords! I had shopped at this store for decades using a different form of payment and have never had such an awful experience! Needless to say, I will not shop at this store again! As for the incompetent, rude, and poorly trained individuals that are hired to be cashiers, I say it's the owner's responsibility! You won't get far with such personnel, that's for sure! In any event, I do not recommend shopping at this store for the reasons of poor customer service and prices that are significantly higher for the same items, compared to other stores!

Super friendly personnel and really fun place to find new and interesting ethnic food. Small and cramped, but my son and I thought it was super fun to walk around and see what was there.

I'm call to the store and order for picking up frozen berries. When I arrive to store for picking up my order, I receive different berries, not what I ordered and defrosted!

Oh, this place! The ladies behind the counter are very rude, pushy and have no manners. In terms of food, the place has nothing special. Their deli meats look old, their "fresh baked" goodies don't look fresh at all. In fact, I asked for certain sausages and the blonde lady sold completely different ones (the most expensive) and snuck in a few more additional to make it even pricier. This was my first and now definitely my last trip to this un-fresh, outdated place.
