I am Executive Elite with National. I rent from National weekly and one thing that makes National different is there customer service. Its as good as any out there. That being said National fisherman's wharf is by far the worst experience I have encountered on multiple occasions. I would suggest Renting from SFO.

Having Executive status, I thought it would be an easy process and National would look after it’s loyal customers. Gee was I wrong. Wanting to get the car 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time and I’m charged a full days rental fee. Just a really unfortunate experience all round.

Good customer service from Luis. You are able to return cars on Sundays even though they're closed.

Dishonest and unreliable staff. I reserved a car for a month long rental. They didn't have the SUV I reserved but they were willing to offer a mini-van, which they referred to as an "upgrade". It was one of three cars they had on site. Their excuse: it "included a Friday-Saturday", an obvious lie.Without explanation or apology - they were willing to make me go through hoops before allowing me to learn on my own that I they were not going to honor my reservation.I left without a car. This place should be closed.

We had a great experience renting from this location. Although I'm just an Emerald Club member, I was given an Executive upgrade to a brand new Mustang, which was a nice surprise. I also ended up leaving a cell phone holder in the car when returning it after hours, but when I went back the next day, the staff was very helpful in finding and retrieving it for me. Lastly, renting from an off-airport location saves you the airport taxes, and that more than makes up for the lack of Emerald Aisle. Just note that it can get busy, since the location serves National, Enterprise, and Alamo.

No Emerald Aisle or even a choice of vehicle. Employees are very slow to get anything done and not very helpful. Definitely not up to snuff with a normal great National rental experience.
