I'd cancel my trip to San Francisco if I can't stay at Music City Hotel! The staff: lovely. The rooms: clean, efficient, comfy. The location: I love Bus 19!

Best hostel experience I’ve had in a while. Not the most social environment necessarily, but clean and quiet enough and feels like a good and comfortable place.

A unique place with music every day!
Walkability: The city is accessible on foot from the hotel
Noteworthy details: If you like music this is the place to go.

Great location and fun atmosphere
The staff are nice and helpful
The room I was in didn’t have any hooks to hang your towel or space to store your stuff.. and the mattress was quite uncomfortable.

I selected this hotel knowing it was not a luxury stay, but the cost was half of most of the big hotels, and other reviews said it was clean and in an ok part of town. So being somewhat local, (Northbay), I kinda knew the area anyway. Room was nothing special as far as hotels go (Janis Joplin room) nor was it big, but was fun (the music memorabilia and theme) and most importantly, and I can confirm it was very clean! (even under the bed). The room we were in had its own bathroom which was nice, small, but worked just fine. Hotel location is fairly central to everything (via car), and far enough from the not so nice parts of SF. There are bars and a late night pizza by the slice store just around the corner on Polk, the parking garage is 1 door down on corner of Polk and Bush, access for Uber or taxi is great at the front door, service was friendly and helpful (we had a drink before heading out on the town and Daniel the bartender reopened the bar he had just closed for the night to get us a couple wets, thanks Daniel). Only downside to the room is that it was on the 3rd floor and only access (that we knew of) was the winder stairs, so if you have mobility issues or lots of luggage, could be a problem. We didn't mind, got our steps in for the day (literally). Noise, if you need quiet, not the space for you, but I don't think you'll get that in any hotel in the city (unless you're in a top floor suite). So for the price, the location, and cleanliness, I would stay there again. Thanks

GOOD LOCATION, CENTRAL IN SOME WAY I WOULD SAY. NICE STAFF. GOOD SIZE CAPSULE BEDS, CLEANED DAILY. I WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK THERE AGAIN.
THE ONLY BAD THING WAS THAT THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME MY BREAKFAST INCLUDED ON ANY DAY. :/

Rooms: The capsules are very comfortable. I am small but I still had a lot of space. :)
Noteworthy details: Showers doors need to be fixed. After a shower water is all over the floor.

No frills, little run down BUT the price is right, the staff are awesome and it about a block or two from pretty much anything you want.

AMAZING spot to stay a couple blocks from The Regency Ballroom where I was in the city for a show. Everything was super nice, clean, dripping in style, with kind helpful staff. My room was Stevie Nicks themed with beautiful guitar and nice practice amp. Would highly recommend and plan to stay for future shows in the area.

Great value and vibes—the ultimate SF Hall of Fame music experience. Immersive fun and nostalgia.
Keep on rocking! Glad I went. Next time I’ll stay more than 1night.
Food and drinks: Good prices!

First time I was here it was fine. Noisy but I literally just needed somewhere to sleep for an hour, keep a bag, and do some homework. The all female hostel is what I did, the first room was spacier than the second and all the “pods” are the same size regardless of how many people you share space with. They give you a privacy screen, free small toiletries, a towel, etc etc. Even has a fridge and microwave in the common area. The rooms aren’t the problem
My second time here was literally today about an hour ago, 10:30 AM October 12. I figured it was a long shot but decided to ask if I could access my room early to get some Zs. Front desk guy says sure and gives me the bed and room number with the key. I get there and the bed still has stuff on it, like someone’s cardigan and a box of tampons. I go back down to say basically why did you let me have access to the room, it’s not ready. The guy searches the system and is like “no nobody’s in that room” well yes nobody is but their stuff clearly is. He clicks around some more and goes “oh I guess there is somebody the guy last night forgot to check them in” excuse me? He says “you can hang out in the room” oh yes thank you for letting me hang out in the room I paid for. So kind. So I took the higher ground and waited in the room using up valuable sleeping time till 11, at 11:15 cleaning comes through and tells me sitting at a desk “bed 2 checkout at 11 bed 2 checkout at 11” while explaining that’s not me and my stuff, but is meant to be my bed. A bit before this, the same front desk guy comes in the room and goes “oh there is stuff in here” I literally told you that. The issue is
I go down back down and tell the front desk guy that that person has to get out. He calls the customer and they talk in Spanish and he explains they have to get their stuff so it can be cleaned. He gets off the phone and is like “oh yeah so they said they checked out sometimes they just let this lady stay here without paying so the guy last night probably did that and didn’t check her in” okay since we’re giving out beds for free now I guess it’s my turn?? As I’m typing this cleaning staff again tried to tell me to check out, called the front desk who explained it’s someone else, and she apologized a ton. Cleaning staff deals with a language barrier I could navigate better so they’re the last people I blame. Why in the world is night shift letting people stay for free?? Poor communication and experience so far. It’s been about 90 mins since I got here and I think I almost have my bed they approved around 10:10 AM.

Had a great time! Staff were all amazing and super accommodating. We had a private room (green day) and had everything we need. Food, beers and entertainment downstairs meant we didn’t even need to leave while we were there.
