The location was great. Easy to walk to the beach, zoo, or some eating spots around there. The rooms were a good size. Parking was easy to access. The only thing wrong there was the sink in the room, bad water pressure.

tell the night shift employees that they need to work and not sleep. I couldn’t get into the room for 40 minutes

The fridge was broken and super noisy. The sink was bizarre. The water shot out of 4 tiny holes with super high pressure. It was unusable. Would not recommend.Noteworthy details: Sink and fridge in room 214 need repair!

I booked a reservation there but when I called to confirm the owner/manager Sam was so rude and disrespectful. I told him my name multiple times and he gave me attitude and yelled at me. He was very hard to understand and even hung up on us. Do not recommend this place.Safety: Did not feel safe with my family after the way the manager treated us.

My vehicle was vandalized in an ADA spot directly outside of the office. GUESS WHAT?! Their cameras are just for show and do not work, so there's no security footage available. The cord to my phone in the room had been cut, so there was no available way to call. The front desk attendant sleeps in the back office. When I we checked out and inquired about the cameras, the guy came out in his pajamas. So you can pretty much get away with anything. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE FACILITY!!

I had medical appointments at UCSF and need to spend the evening in San Francisco. I do this several times a year so I am speaking from lots of hotel experiences in SF . I stay out of the inner city as much as possible. This place is a great find . Very close to Ocean Beach .Rooms: The rooms are bigger then most , very clean and large bathrooms .Nearby activities: Hwy 1 , Ocean Beach , Golden Gate Park and the San Francisco Zoo . Great foodSafety: I felt very safe . The neighborhood was quite , there is underground free parking included.Noteworthy details: This is a wonderful vintage building . No elevator. I'm 60 years old and had no trouble. Sturdy hand rails

The hotel is good, close to the sea so if you are looking for that, the location is great, in front of the zoo, the hotel for its price is not that bad, the walls can be thin so if you have light floors I do not recommend it, The rooms are ok and the bathroom is what I liked the most and it is one of the things that interests me the most, it has parking.

Mirage Inn & Suites If you can forgive a slightly unfriendly customer service vibe (mentioned in other reviews), the Mirage Inn & Suites is an excellent choice for quality and value. Albeit a fancy name for an elderly, almost vintage, simple motel, it is a good value in comparison to other motels.I appreciated the generous 12 noon check out time (for all guests), and motel has clean, and spacious rooms and bathrooms, that come with both a tub and a nice, big round shower head. The lighting is decent (dimable and with soft lighting lamps). No elevator, so plan to climb up stairs if your room is on the 2nd floor! Conveniently located in a relatively safe neighborhood. Ideal if you plan to take someone to San Francisco Airport (which is just a 1/2 hour drive away), want some sandy beach time (2 short blocks from the sand), and/or prefer to stay in a safe San Francisco location - especially if you consider that other S.F. neighborhoods, which can be more known for theft and car break-ins. Although the motel is located on a main street, it ends at the beach, and rooms (at least our room) was really quiet, and aside from the broken rubber on our refrigerator door, and a slight dent in the king bed in our room, the motel seems to be clean and in good condition. And albeit the thin plastic bed covers, the bed was fairly comfortable and my mother & I slept well in it. ...It would have been $20 more to each have our own beds, and you pay $20 extra on top of that per adult to a room - even if you share a bed. Read the small print! ...I booked through Agoda, which seemed the cheapest, but by the time you factor in the costs above, and taxes, it was the same price as booking through Google, Booking.com, or directly with the motel. Rooms also come with coffee maker and packets, microwave, small flatscreen TV. There's free underground parking, next to the pizza joint. It is not gated and no security guard or cameras as far as I could see, but otherwise appeared secure... at least our car was still there and in one piece in the morning.

Update...The gentleman comes across as though he doesn't seem to love his job, with a sort of crabby feeling emanating from him. Perhaps a session at charm school would help... if the guy is indeed positive with his attitude, it doesn't come across to this reviewer. I would give the place 4 stars if the on-duty person were more "bubbly."

The pictures were very deceiving. Nothing like I expected. It's not a hotel, it's a motel. There is nothing close by except a liquor store across the street. The worst part is the man at the front desk. He is not helpful at all and extremely rude. I would never recommend this MOTEL to anyone!

Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, bathrooms are nice, the cleaning staff are very friendly, there was a fridge and microwave in our room, great location to zoo and beach. Ok location to Golden gate park (I'm a country girl) too many stop signs between hotel and park (not hotels fault....just giving info) I noticed 1 morning when I was heading out that a room across the hall had like a little living room with couches, looked really spacious and nice. I read reviews about owner/managers being rude..... a man did come out and yell at us when we parked in the check-in spot, but once we explained that we had lots of bags to unload and would move after he said ok. Same man was at front desk when I checked out, wasn't over friendly but nice enough. We work music festivals so I would stay here again the next time we come for OSL & HSB.

Beautiful clean rooms. Great staff and service. Awesome prices. Absolutely NO problems with this place. It's 14 miles from the city. But it's waaay more peaceful. It's like a 3-5 min walk from the beach. I absolutely love it and I will definitely return soon.

I booked this hotel because I was attending outside lands and didn’t really have many other options. I hoped for the best but the first night my bf and I noticed a strange noise coming from the bathroom and found a leak and water bubble right above the shower head. In the morning I told the lady at the front desk about it thinking they might change our room or something since we were staying two more nights but she very curtly told me she already knew and that a guy was supposed to come that day. So I’m pretty sure they gave us a room knowing there was a leak that would drop water right above that shower and they didn’t even apologize for the fact it was there in the first place. She was really unhelpful and no one ever came to fix it or even update us on the situation. I wouldn’t spend more than one night here if you are desperate , the location is great but I did not feel cared for as a paying customer of this establishment. For your own sake though I would recommend you stay away from this place. (Never wanted or asked for a “better view” they’re probably mixing me up with another customer who was also probably rightly annoyed at them, just a room with a shower that didn’t make me feel unsanitary and was a literal HAZARD, I think their response just proves my point)
