I bought items today. I am really disappointed. Many items are expired. I saw rice noodles that have been expired for several months and have not been taken off the shelves. When I got home, I saw that I bought salted egg yolk shortbread. It was also expired by two months. I hope the person in charge will supervise the work of displaying the shelf life of food. . To prevent customers from causing health problems after purchasing food.

They have fresh produce, noodles, seafood, meat, frozen food. We like to get the low sugar ice cream. Wish ice cream wasn't so expensive! Wish they would clean it up a bit. They usually have what we are looking for. Prices of items are more reasonable but now produce whether organic or not have gone up.

Ok, at one time, I believed MOM was ok for the price and rarity of shopping for Asian ingredients. Well no more. The new kid on the block is WEEE at When I and my family bit into the cooked tilapia from WEEE, it tasted sooo soft & fresh, nothing like MOM's deep frozen for months if not years fishes. And the cost was $2-$2.50 per tilapia at WEEE and they completely clean them. At this time, WEEE has just about everything you need in MOM without having to dress, take a car or bus there, hunt for the ingredients in tight spaces where you're running into everybody, and lastly stand in long unbearable lines. At WEEE you just place your orders thru their app on your smartphone, look for the day you want them delivered at Checkout which should start in 2 days (or later depending on what you're buying) and they come that day while you track them on your app on the smartphone. You can continue to modify (remove/add items) your order until 1pm the day before the day of delivery without added charges. The other upside is you can use paypal and if paypal allows it, you can set it up for BNPL (buy now pay later) which helps when you have a lot to buy and/or there are great deals you need/want. If you're delivered rotten stuff, as long as you take a pic immediately of it and upload it to them and state the reason for a refund, then they'll issue it which you have a difficult time doing with MOM. There are reviews for the items so don't forget to look, esp if it's an easily hard to-preserve item like fruits & vegetables. I try and look at the most recent reviews to see if there are any problems. If the items are limited, I may skip the item, not knowing how long they've stored it. They have fruits & veggies that you'll only find in Asia. Not many other Asian markets can rival them in diversity & rarity. They've got a big diversified frozen section like filipino ice cream, filipino frozen meals like Magnolia's Pork Sisig, Orient Gourmet's [Pork Menudo, Ginisang Monggo, Paksiw na Pata (Pork Hock Stew), Beef Kaldereta (Braised Beef with Vegetables), Beef Kaldereta (Braised Beef with Vegetables), Bistek Tagalog with Beef and Onions (Beef Steak), Bicol Express, Dinuguan (Pork Stew in Beef Blood), Laing (Taro Leaves in Coconut Milk)], thai frozen curry meals, frozen chinese steamed bbq buns and other types of buns, gyoza, pot stickers, lumpia, etc. I even needed non-Asian items like grass fed milk and yogurt and yes, they had those too. They also have many delicious Asian rices from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam. Japan, India, etc. Their only downside beside consistent freshness is they're on the pricey side, but hey for great quality and diversity, it's understandable. Also, unlike the bricks & mortar market, the package weights of fruits & veggies is already pre-packed, so for example, if you only want 1 pound of bananas, the only size they have may be 3 lbs. Also, sometimes, if the price is very low like $2 or less in the packaged section, then you may have to buy 2 minimum. Can't stand the crooked cashiers, the fact that MOM deliberately sells the rotten fruits and/or veggies while hiding the rot, can't stand waiting in the long lines that bury you in the food aisles with1 someone's butt in your face or vice-versa, can't stand having to turn in your bags so they don't suspect you of stealing, can't stand the low parking spaces at MOM, tired of trudging along without even any benches to rest on or electric shopping carts to help you shop with if you're disabled in any way, then say OUI, OUI, MON AMI, I'M GOING TO LET WEEEEEEE DELIVER IT TO ME!!!

I have been going to Manila for years, I go to the store 2-3 times a week / every week because I wanted to support local business and up until today I have always overlooked the shady things that happen there because it's none of my business but since I'm piss I will be pouring it all out today. - there is a veggie manager of some sort, she is always harassing and bullying her staff. She would talk down on them even when customers are in the store, we can all hear and see the act but she would just continue. - the guy that is in charge of cutting the beef, he is always cutting it wrong. You are supposed to cut the beef against the grain so that it is tender, he cuts it however he wants. Making it super chewy so even if you buy the expensive cut, after he cuts it, it will taste no different to beef pot roast cut. - the seafood guy will never sell you just one freaken crab, he always tells me to get two and I don't need two. - there are boxes everywhere and sometimes the delivery or stocking person will push your items out of way even if it cause your things to fall over. - if you are not an Asian and you have a backpack, you gota check it in at the cashier. - the cart are all old and broken , the squeak and bounce when you push them - the bread and Garlic is almost always moldy -if you want freash mint leaves, you gota ask them because the ones the have out, sometimes is not fresh. - sometimes the tan Ho have bugs eggs and it smells like bugs - also their squash, the baby green one , opal is it? Is always old. When you cut into it it is grayish and the seeds are always huge. Anyways but this is what got me angry today: I went to Manila to get some protein for hotpot and I bought 1 LB of Shrimp, 1 LB of Baby Octopus, 3 LB of beef and a salmon fillet, ALL of my seafood were bad. It smells bad, and it taste like it has been left out for days. I only live 10 mins away from the store and as soon as I got home, I open all my bags to start cooking, I notice a disgusting smell, it smells soooo bad, I sniffed everything and it turns out, the shrimp, the octopus and even the salmon has gone bad. It looks like the shape and the coloration is okay but it smells like rotten tuna. So needless to say, today was it. After many years of over looking the little things from here I will not be going back ever again Good bye cashier friends, it was nice knowing y'all.

Very reasonably priced Asian supermarket — perfect for any and all Chinese and Filipino cooking needs. Southeast Asian (but lesser extent Thai) and Latino groceries available.Produce — while fresh — sometime require some digging to avoid the over-ripe items. Exotic vegetables, fruits and herbs.Wide selection of fresh fish kept on ice make for a visual treat. Well-stocked butcher.Asian snacks, condiments and sauces abound.

Large selection with average prices for a variety of Asian grocery essentials. However, the entire experience was off-putting, from the seemingly arbitrary policy to check large bags to prevent stealing, to the extremely dim lights, to the tight parking. Would not recommend going. 99 Ranch and H-Mart are both nearby and far better.

A good place to find Asian spices, herbs, goods, food, and exotic fruits you won't find at a regular grocery store.

I love Manila Oriental Market (MOM). Honestly, I would give it 4.5 stars. If you like to save money and pay a fraction of the price for vegetables, fruits and meats, go there. You don't have to be Asian to benefit from that. What my daughter loves about it is that you can get lots of poki. Unfortunately, they don't have Yan Yan. I have no idea why people are saying it's so expensive, but maybe that's because I mostly get my fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, noodles, and hardly anything else. For example, for a green bell pepper at Safeway, it was $1.49 each. At MOM, it's $1.79 a lb. I got 2 for $1.45. Then they'll have these random specials. Last week I got 2 boxes of blueberries which my son devoured. Last week, I bought 1 single rambutan for $.99 at Safeway. Today at MOM, I bought around 30 of them for $4.38. Today, I got 2 boxes of strawberries for $.99. I buy ground beef there for $3.29/lb while at Safeway it could be $9-$11/lb. Their fresh, boneless chicken breast is $2.99/lb. while Safeway can range from $7-$10/lb. I've been to some gross Asian markets. This isn't one of them and I've never had anyone be rude to me, quite the opposite. Also, I don't understand the complaints about the parking. In this neighborhood, it's great that they actually have a parking lot and I've always found a spot. Oh by the way the posted hours for opening are incorrect. They open at 9 am. I highly recommend Manila Oriental Market. Just give it a try.
