This is not my regular supermarket. I just happened to be nearby (at the DMV), and decided to pick up a few things before I headed back home. I must say, this was the EMPTIEST supermarket (in terms of customers in store) I think I've ever been to! I was here on a Monday, kinda mid-day, and there was just, like, NO ONE there (I always feel like this is a sign of something. Kinda like an empty restaurant). I bought a few small items. And I must confess, I kinda felt like I was being watched while I was in there, like they were concerned I might shoplift or something. I felt this air of suspicion even AFTER I checked-out. Very strange. It's unlikely I'll go again, as this is not in my neighborhood, but I wouldn't want to, either.
The prices I encountered were just sort of OK. Kind of on-par with Safeway.

This Lucky sucks. Pricing is all sorts of backwards, sometimes doubling or tripling the same exact item at Safeway. Worst of all was during a recent trip there a rude security guard approached my wife, accused her of shoplifting and demanded to search her purse. Upon finding out he was way out of line, and there were no hidden items in her bag....no apology. He only stated, and I quote, "yah, cuz when you came in here you didn't have nothing", and turned around and walked away? What the hell does that mean? I believe she was owed a polite, and sincere apology. This is absolutely the last time we will ever shop here!

My absolute favorite supermarket.
Reminds me of a suburban supermarket bc it's huge.
Friendly staff, great security, tins of options.
The only thing I have trouble with here is there floral is simple under serviced. Not one decent arrangement ever.

Lucky's grocery store on Masonic & Fulton is so important to the area. I particularly feel that the fried chicken is better than Popeyes or Safeway. The SF. Fulton Street store is clean and organized. I was surprised to see Krispy Kreme donuts sold in the store.

I wouldn't buy fresh seafood here (the counter is often closed and I've found the quality is variable). Nice for some items when they are on sale (they can have great deals), but for feeling like a budget grocery store, the prices can be surprisingly high. Also, there are often not enough cashiers. If you are buying alcohol, you can't use self checkout and may need to wait a bit. Better off going to trader joe's which is nearby if you are looking for a good deal or Gus's if you are looking for good quality. They do sell a few things that are hard to find elsewhere, such as dry ice or a large selection of non healthy snacks foods.

Love this Lucky's but I bought a half of Apple Crumble Pie and it was horrible, the crust and crumble was soggy and the apple filling tasted like refrigerator or freezer. ?

Poor service from the General manager on Thanksgiving afternoon. Go to another grocery store for your Holiday needs.

I’ve noticed on my debit card I was charged an amount that is not correct. I purchased a package of pork chops for $7.42 a small container of milk for $1.99 and 2 bananas. My debit card was deducted $52.00 and I know better than that. I’ve filed a complaint and I hope they get it right. This don’t make any sense to the dumbest bear! Can I have this issue resolved

I have shopped here for the past six years, but I am done. Over the last six months or so, this store has gotten worse and worse while their prices go higher and higher. At this point, the prices here are about 20-40% higher than any other grocery stores in San Francisco, including Whole Foods. And for this premium price, you get a homeless village in front, empty shelves on all their sale items, 2 to 3 of their self checkout machines broken, and a store that pays for two to three security guards but can't hire a second checker with a line of twenty people.I can think of nothing that this Lucky/SaveMart does well. There are some lovely people who work there, and there are some absolute sociopaths who routinely abuse anyone needing help. The deli and meat counters are particularly rude every time. The city would be well-served if this Lucky were to close down and allow a competent grocery store to open up here. Go to the Safeway on Webster instead - it may be chaotic, but at least you can check out in under an hour.
