I've tried several gyms throughout the city, and Live Fit Inner Richmond by far has had the best customer service experience. The staff are friendly, down to earth, and super knowledgeable. They also offer members a complimentary fitness assessment, which is how I started to work with Christian. From Day 1 he identified areas to improve my lifting technique and offered practical exercises to work into my routine. I decided to continue working with Christian as a trainer and the progress has been phenomenal. He's helped me add 70 lbs to my bench press, have a stronger core, and even work through some lower back issues to safely reimplement squats back into my routine. I would definitely recommend Live Fit as the best gym in the area, and if you're looking for a chill trainer to push you towards your goals then Christian is your guy.

I have been training with Patrick for the past six months, and highly recommend him as a personal trainer! Before starting, I felt intimidated by gym machines and lacked knowledge about proper form and foundational exercises. Patrick has been incredibly patient right from the start, addressing all my questions and guiding me through the basics. He's really sharp when it comes to correcting your form and pace too, and he's helped me lay down a solid foundation to build on. Not only do I feel more confident, but I've also noticed strength gains, which was my initial goal. :) Additionally, the gym maintains a clean environment, adding to the overall positive experience. Patrick's guidance and the gym's cleanliness have truly made my fitness journey a success!

Why are there no strict weight lifting gyms in San Francisco? This place is so lame. Very, very little equipment. I was looking for a preacher curl bench, back extension, a couple others. They don't have it. It is very, very limited for body building. I saw a "trainer" teaching someone to do a press behind their head. Do you know what that does to your shoulders? Even with perfect form? And they want $107 a month? Get lost.

Although I've been active my whole life, the gym is a fairly new and unfamiliar environment for me. A couple of months ago, I started personal training sessions with Christian to build up my strength and familiarity with the gym, and I've had a great experience so far. Christian has taken the time to understand my goals and build a regimen that meets them. He regularly asks for feedback and checks in to ensure I'm happy with how our sessions are going. He has a positive and welcoming attitude and always gives thoughtful critiques and tips, paired with encouraging motivation. I've learned a lot from him in just a couple of months! The gym itself is clean and spacious. The building historically housed a Masonic temple, which still gives it some eclectic accents. Membership comes with an app that lets you scan in and access the gym during most hours of the day. All around a great place to start or continue your fitness journey.

Highly recommend the classes with Ernest! I started his classes at holding 5 lb, and after attending about 10 classes I can hold 10lb during the class! That's 100% increase. I'm feeling stronger now.

I decided to get a membership at Live Fit Gym Inner Richmond after checking out other gyms in the area. In addition to having a convenient check-in (using their app/QR code on your phone) which is available 5am - 11pm 365 days a year, I love how they kept the atmosphere of the vintage building. As a treadmill runner, I was also immediately impressed with their cardio room of 10+ (not sure exact number) treadmills, as I am not the biggest fan of having to wait during busy times. They also have a great selection of free weights and weight machines. The real reason I felt inclined enough to write a review is because of the friendly staff, especially Christian. Christian has been incredibly friendly and welcoming since I joined, and clearly cares about engaging and getting to know everyone. I recently signed up for the fitness assessment with Christian and was very impressed. He is super knowledgeable and a great coach, and his insight and relaxed demeanor made me feel super comfortable. He has even taken the time to give me extra pointers while I'm on the floor, which have been very helpful in improving my form. I will definitely be signing up with Christian for more training sessions, as I have already benefitted a lot from the feedback he has provided.

TLDR: - Small gym, but even during busy hours, wait times aren't too long. Off hours == no wait times * Christian is fantastic as a coach. Very knowledgeable on educating form, stretches, warming up, accessory lifts. Would highly recommend him if you're getting started on your lifting journey! - Training sessions are reasonably priced - They have this awesome smart scale that measures body fat percentage, BMI, and other great meta data if you have specific goals you're trying to track - All the staff are warm and welcoming - All equipment is in clean and solid working condition - They offer other great services such as chiropractor, acupuncture, and classes. Highlights: I've been a member of Live Fit Gym since December and this is my most favorite gym in the city. I do wish there were more free weights in this gym, such as more bench press stations and more squat racks. However, this isn't a deal breaker for me since I usually go in off hours. But what really set my experience here apart from other gyms I've been to is Christian and my work with him. For context, I have a few years of experience in lifting already. That said, Christian is very knowledgeable on proper lifting technique. He's not only helped me identify when my form is breaking down during exercises, but he even records my reps so he can point out weak points and where to improve, which is great for learning. Christian has also introduced me to great warm up exercises and stretches. For example, I mentioned to him that my rotator cuffs sometimes hurt after bench press. He showed me 3 or 4 routines to really warm them up before the actual sets. Ever since then, my rotators have not in pain after bench day! My PRs have been going up too! And lastly, aside from all the things I've learned from him, Christian has also just been a warm and kind person. Everytime I see him in the gym, he's always kind to spend a few minutes just to chat and catch up. He even offered me gummy worms during an evening workout once haha. He is very welcoming and I always look forward to going to the gym. I've had about 4 training sessions with Christian, and I've learned a good amount from him. He's a true guru of lifting, and I would highly recommend him whether you're just starting your lifting journey or you're a seasoned lifter that might want some pointers. Thanks again Christian!

I signed up at live fit gym a few months ago. My overall experience has been great. I signed on for training sessions with Christian. Working with him has been amazing! I can definitely feel the difference since I started training with him. He is an awesome fitness trainer and really takes the time to understand your fitness goals and creates a program to help you achieve those goals. He is attentive to what you're doing and makes adjustments to help you and encourages you to keep working towards your fitness goal. Not only is he an amazing fitness trainer, but he is also a really great person. There have been times that I've had to make adjustments to our sessions due to personal reasons and he is always so accommodating. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Christian. If you're thinking about signing up to do personal training sessions, you're in good hands with Christian! I would recommend him to everyone!

I've been working with Christian at this Live Fit as my personal trainer for the past few months, and it'been a fantastic experience. Christian takes the time to get to know me and understand my fitness goals so he can design workout routines tailored specifically for me. Each session, he thoughtfully modifies exercises and reps based on how I'm feeling and progressing. But what really sets Christian apart is his incredibly friendly and motivational attitude. He greets me with a big smile at each session and is always optimistic, pushing me to do my best while also making our workouts fun. Christian remembers personal details about my life that we chat about as we train together, so I always feel he genuinely cares, not just about my physical results but about me as a person.

I have been going to Live Fit for about two months, and I like it! After switching from a much larger gym, I appreciate how the vibes of this place feel more calm and less hectic. While there are less machines than I'm used to, I appreciate how clean everything is. I appreciate smaller details that others may not necessarily think about, such as being genuinely greeted at the front desk when I arrive and their sanitation wipes smell good! I have also been doing personal training with Christian, and I really enjoy it! He truly customizes our sessions to help me achieve my fitness goals, and I always feel comfortable asking for modifications for exercises if needed. I also like how he switches up our routine each session and provides really unique and fun exercises as I get bored quite easily doing the same thing over and over again.

Great neighborhood gym with clean, well maintained equipment. The off-hour scan in gives an extra layer of convenience and security. The main equipment floor is laid out well, with several benches available. The upstairs stretching room has ample room, free weights, and a great view! I purchased several personal training sessions with Christian and he has helped me get stronger in an unreal amount of time. He has a great attitude and is a good motivator. He is patient and puts a lot of time into making sure you have the correct mechanics down before adding more weight. He's a great communicator and will do his best to work around your schedule. Being someone with no gym experience, Christian and the Live Fit Arguello crew make working out a pleasant experience.
