The first thing I noticed when I walked in is how this place smelled exactly the same as the butcher shop my grandfather would take me to as a kid in the country outside of Buenos Aires. That smell that only comes from a butcher shop that’s making the sausages fresh, cutting the beef fresh, etc. That’s how I knew this place was legit without even trying anything. I’ve since tried a few of the sausages they have and they’re amazing. Again, the taste reminds me of the taste of the sausages my grandpa would buy from this old butcher in the country. It’s a taste you only get from butchers with a true sense of craftsmanship. Reminds me of a simpler time. I highly recommend the sausages, the meatloaf, and stuffed chicken. The charm doesn’t stop there, though, Ron and his son Michael also give stellar customer service. Always a pleasure stopping by and supporting this local business.

I walked in at 830 AM as opening was advertised and got a prime roast. The butcher asked how I planned to cook as he was prepared to string it. The meat was excellent when cut into 1.5” steaks and grilled on a Weber. So, this is a professional neighborhood butcher who knows his stuff and I wish there were more like him.

This place embodies a dying art, some of the best butchers in the bay area without a doubt. Great selection of fresh meat, I esp. recommend their stuffed chicken. A business worth supporting for all in the greater bay area.

Little City Market is the only butcher shop my grandmother would get meat from. I just moved back to SF and my mom, who shops there, reminded me of it. High quality meat, limited fish (usually one kind but very good), ravioli and some other market items but really the place to go for beef, pork or chicken. They are super helpful, will slice meat for you and will recommend the right cut of meat should you have questions. Cash or check only.

Visiting a place full of mammal carcasses and fleshy tubes that used to be Babe's cousin is always a scary experience for the Firm. The Firm's mom served cottage cheese in spaghetti sauce instead of meat and lots of tofu I won't bore you with here. That was back when the clammy soy cakes could only be found in Asian markets and restaurants and we had 4 TV channels. Cable was but a twinkle in Ted Turner's eye. That all said, this place was a revelation. It felt like I was in a movie. I could almost hear Alice's paramour Sam on the Brady Bunch and Ed Blumquist running meat slicers in the back. The Firm has no idea about choosing meat and did not need to given the excellent service. The meat-effing-master-butcher himself ground up my sirloin and packed up the prime rib with cooking instructions written on the outside sans a bloody apron. The meat tasted delicious to all! I saw some house made meatloaf and meatballs the size of Toledo on display I plan to try soon. My neighbor advised to break up the meat into smaller balls on those nights Thor can't make it to dinner. Sounds like a plan.

Little City Market was great! Purchased some Sicilian and Calabrese sausage as well. Husband grew up on Bernard Street so it was close to old neighborhood. His grandfather had a shoeshine space on Columbus Avenue. We'll be back.

The owners are so friendly and helpful, high quality meats for a fair price. "Only salt on the meat, it will explode if you put pepper on it" owners advice when I asked how to best cook the meat I bought

Great neighborhood butcher store. They provide some great cuts of meat including more specialized cuts. Worth making a trip for your special dishes. Cash only so make a trip to the atm beforehand. Not sure if they'd do it but this looks like the place that you could order whole prímals or half carcasses.

The Calabrian sausage and Sicilian sausages are very very fresh, authentic, and delicious. Yum! The market is large, but their selection is rather small. And their other shelf items are slim. And the owner (I think?), well, he sorta lacks a personality. But if you want pork cut to order, and Italian sausages, come to this place in North Beach! It's really fantastic!
