I placed an order online for some prints and Lightsource got back to me about a week later to let me know that the paper I had requested was no longer available. I asked for a refund on the order, and they said they would get me a refund. Only complaint is that it took them over a month to issue the refund, without any sort of communication on what the status of the refund was or when it would be issued when I inquired about the refund a couple of times. A quick note that it would take a month or so to see the refund would have been much appreciated.

If there is a Holy Grail of image capture for Art, it is Lightsource. If there is a Holy Grail for fine art printing, it is Lightsource. As an oil painter, when I've worked with other professional photographers in the past, the results have been great but the strobe lights that most photographers use tend to cut through the paint layers of an oil painting making the oil painting appear more like a scratchy/brushy watercolor painting. I've heard the same complaint from so many of my colleagues when working with photographers. But lightsource has developed a wonderful technique for capturing/creating an image of a painting that feels like it should. Instead of the harsh, scratchy/brushy feeling to the photographs that I was used to in the past, Lightsource's images of my oil paintings feel creamy and buttery. They work with the best technical equipment, and their editing process is truly awesome.I've also had Lightsource make prints of my paintings. When comparing their prints to other printers' results: Where other other printers' prints feel decent, the inks might seem to soak into the paper a little bit ... But Lightsource prints have a robust layer of ink that sits on the surface of the paper, making the print feel like a replica of the actual paint layer!!! How do they do this?!?! ... best not to ask, just trust them! I love these guys! ... their list of clientele is quite impressive ... from Lucasfilm, to Banana Republic, Restoration Hardware .... clearly they've earned a reputation at the very top of image capture.

I ordered a poster printed straight from their website this morning and literally got a response back from Miles within minutes of placing my order. He was professional and kind...the crazy thing is that they printed my poster a couple hours later. I love that I could order straight from the website, the speed, and I'm a s***** for nice people. Thanks Miles and Lightsource!

Hands down THE best fine art printing lab in the Bay Area. I would not entrust my work, negatives, digital files, or prints to any other lab. Skilled, experienced, competent printers who go above and beyond to offer professional and personable service.

Superb photo printing professionals. Easy to work with and the results are great. When there was an issue with one print they quickly and fairly resolved it with me. Highly recommend.

I was getting my art scanned at another lab and unhappy with the results. I tried LightSource and found their scans are far superior, high quality and accurate. No cringing!

I needed some nice prints for a video project. I wasn't sure who to talk to, so I messaged a few local print shops, and one of them directed me to LightSource as the best fit for my project. It really impressed me that another local business would forward a potential customer to LightSource. I wasn't completely sure what I needed. The staff were very patient with me, asking questions and explaining the options. Once we agreed on the work to be done, they used their in-house expertise with color to make the results much better than I could have on my own. They seemed personally invested in my project and always responded to my emails within a day. They could have phoned it in due to how clueless I was, but they didn't. High-quality professionalism and zero snootyness. I'd happily go back for any similar project in the future.

Lightsource blew me away with their outstanding customer service and quality of prints. Each project is specially cared for by a team member who personally reaches out to you after your submit your order to ensure you get the absolute best print. I Worked with Miles, who was a joy to work with, extremely responsive, and went above and beyond to communicate details about my image to me that may affect the print process. I never felt like I was asking too many questions. I could not be happier with the quality of my print and the entire process. A great value and experience. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my print needs.

I wanted to get pictures printed for a friends wedding - they were of grandparents and great grandparents so pretty old and in black and white. The brides mother wasn't too tech savvy and sent me the pictures as pictures she had taken on her iPhone of them still in the glass frames. So they were crooked, blurry, and had glare on them. Anyway, Ward helped turn these into beautiful pictures that I could use and put in frames on the wedding day. He was patient with my questions and back and forth and was not daunted by the project in the least. He also gave great recommendations when I didn't know a lot about photography. I will definitely be using LightSource again.

Dear Sam and Ward,Thank you for your truly amazing scans of these old negs. Fine work, indeed! Long-winded backstory for review readers: In 1972, I borrowed a Mamiya TLR (120 film size) to photograph a grouping of original sculptures created with very dark wire. The artist's chosen background was black seamless paper. Fun challenge! I made two or three 20" prints of decent quality in a borrowed darkroom. Now, nearly 50 years later, another, bigger print is requested by the artist's family, and luckily the negatives are still available. We chose a couple of frames and Lightsource came through with amazing scans that far exceeds our expectations, including beautiful details and tones that we had never seen before in this image. Excellent job, Ward! Now to carefully plan for some prints; See you soon!Larry Cuneo

Lightsource was amazing in scanning and reproducing a number of family heirloom photos dating back to 1910. They gave me a great deal, and the photos are gorgeous - can’t recommend them highly enough!

LightSource made prints of several gouache and watercolor paintings of mine. The prints looked as good as the originals. I appreciated the care they took with my order and how quickly it was completed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, asking the right questions to ensure that the printing and paper most suited the task. I'll definitely use them again.

I've worked with several other printers in the past and LightSource is by far the best. Their prints are super high quality and beautiful! Perfect for portfolio use or limited-edition print sales. I wouldn't use anyone else!

We had over 200 old and valuable 35mm slides to scan for a book project. We heard LightSource was the best. We heard right. Caleb walked us through the drum scanning process and from the beginning we knew our slides were in more than capable hands. LightSource proved over and over that its services are consistently top shelf, professional and superior. We couldn’t imagine not using LightSource and would recommend their myriad of services anytime. In fact, we’re putting Caleb in for a raise. - Larry and Mary Foster, Fort Bragg, California

Everything one could want. Super equipment, talented professionals that are very helpful. Aron is an artist when it comes to capturing an image. He also takes time to recommend papers, works with my multitude of questions re aspect ratios to show me sizing dimensions that will achieve customers goals and shipping practices. Once or twice I have found the prints from Light Source more interesting than my original canvases . Let’s just keep that one quiet.
