I can't believe I have not reviewed Kabuki Spa. Been going here for over seven years. I love the ambiance and the staff is amazing. I attend Mass in the city in Sunday's and going to the spa on Sunday's is a part of my spiritual wellbeing. I always feel rejuvenated afterwards.

One of the best experiences of my life. I don’t think I’ve ever been so relaxed. Hot and cold plunge pools are great.

Use to love this place. However, some of the attendants they hire need to chill. I wasn't even talking in the sauna, and the attendant saw my mouth move, and he came into the sauna to tell me I couldn't talk. But the attendants can talk as loud as they want in the sink/ restroom area, and I can't even make mouth moves to simulate talking. Then I went to go check my phone in the locker room for not even a second, and he was right behind me telling me I couldn't use my phone. Even just to check my email for like a second. I didn't even remove my phone from my locker. Great place, but it's way too strict for me. I felt like they were just following people around and watching everyone's move. Will not be going back.

A super delightful experience. I can’t believe I never came here when I lived here 12 years ago for 11 years. I especially like the sound in the steam room. It sounded like ambient music with the pipes (monsoon rain). Kabuki is super relaxing with dimmed lights and people don’t talk loudly here like they do at brightly lit Imperial bath house across the street. I also like that they sell all kinds of goodies like cbd bath salts, gluten free cookies and chocolate at the counter ! Go indulge yourself!

I have been going for almost 15 years and it is still simply the best bath experience in SF.

I absolutely loved my experience. My massage therapist was Hiroko. I received the Javanese Lulur Body Treatmen. Hiroko is such a wonderful soul. Very respectful of my religious beliefs when it came to what clothes I wanted to keep on. The massage was great. It isn't deep but the treatments that go along with it, truly help you relax.

Overall nice and unique experience, I think the locker room and steam room could use a facelift. Showing their age a little. Hire the equinox people to come in and re-do it.

Solid 4 stars for my experience here! I only came here for the women's communal spa day on Sunday. Parking: there is a parking lot right around the corner. Price is pretty reasonable, I think it was $3/hour after 3pm. Check in process was fairly easy. For some reason I thought inputting my information online meant I already paid, but I guess it was just a hold. I had to complete the payment in person. We were given a full tour of the place and where to grab slippers, the locker room, towels, and the process. You can either come in bathing suite or fully unclothed. You do have to shower first before you should go into the rooms or pools. The steps: 1. Dry sauna or steam room 2. Cold plunge 3. Hot tub 4. Repeat The only strange thing was that the large shower towels were all the way in the front - this should be swapped with the small ones inside. It was kind of confusing bc you need a bigger towel to dry off at the end? Inside the communal area they had plenty of spa water, ginger tea. They even had bath salt for scrubs. Overall, I had a really fun experience! I would totally come here again. PS: Your electronic devices have to be 100% off when you enter. They make sure you turn it off in front of them.

Too expensive for what you get.
My independent masseuse that I go to is more knowledgeable about massage and cheaper

Occasionally on men’s days (Thu and Sat), you will encounter some guys touching themselves in the sauna. Definitely not a cool behavior and wonder if they can enforce it somehow ?

I wish I had found Kabuki sooner! I appreciate that they make the spa a meditative, quiet space. That’s definitely something I need to feel rejuvenated. The spa is dimly lit with candles adding to the ambiance. The steam and dry saunas were the perfect temperature. The hot bath was a bit shallow, but it was still very comfortable and relaxing. I skip out on the cold plunge, I have yet to brave it out. I really wish they had a Himalayan salt room, otherwise I would go exclusively here once a month. They offer delicious tea, lemon and cucumber water which was refreshing.
However, I left out the extra star because like what other reviews have stated, I also found the front desk staff to be unfriendly. It gave off a bad vibe, especially the young woman who checked me out at the end of my session. It really wasn’t the way I wanted to end my spa experience.
