I had NIPS done with Invitae in 2020 with timely results (processed within 3 days of receiving my sample, with my report being released to my provider and myself quickly thereafter). I decided to get NIPS done again this year, and the experience is much different than last time. Namely, it's been worse. Invitae received my sample 13 days ago, and it's been processing since. I've contacted their helpline twice. The first time, I was told it would take 10 calendar days for it to be processed. That has since passed. I contacted the helpline again today. When asked about the status of my order, as the dashboard still said my sample was being processed, the representative simply said a clinical update couldn't be provided unless to a licensed provider. She and I went around in circles a bit but essentially she kept repeating her script that she couldn't provide a clinical update and discuss results. I advised her that I wasn't looking to discuss the results but wanted to confirm whether my results have been provided to my provider. In short, no. No results have been given to my provider and my sample remains stuck in processing without having been provided with reasons why. I know 13 days doesn't seem long but this is in contrast with others that I have spoken to who received their results with a short turn-around time. Additionally, I am of advanced maternal age and would like timely results for either peace of mind or to determine next steps moving forward with either having to give new samples or with the pregnancy overall. To note, I'm in Canada and I elected to do Invitae (another side note: the cost has increased quite a bit, so it is not a cheap test).

Would give zero stars if I could. Ran the wrong test and it is completely changing my medical management.

Writing my first Yelp review because Invitae is *that* bad. This company is Theranos 2.0. After receiving multiple emails and messages stating that my estimated bill would be $100, I received a bill for $700 (after insurance). You have no way of knowing what you'll be paying until you get a massive surprise bill. Their client services and billing departments are utterly useless. Invitae basically dupes customers into billing via insurance which is exponentially more than what you would have to cover via self-pay (one rep basically admitted that it's cheaper to self-pay). Absolutely twisted unethical business practices and I will be reporting them to every government agency.

price gougers. I was quoted $100, it ended up being $400. I could have had the same tests completed through 23 and me for $175.

Had tests done in Apr - Was quoted ZERO cost, that these were completely covered. Today I get a bill for the testing. 10 months later. If you ever have any testing to do through these liars, which I do not recommend, get proof of their false claims so you can defend yourself later. Edit - Now, as I read through all the reviews here, I see that these practices are just how the company works. Wish I'd seen this before. Read the reviews here people, before you deal with these crooks and liars.

I can't remember who I spoke to but I could hear attitude in her voice, not helpful at all. Plus I could not register my test because of a birthdate error on your end. My email was completely ignored. I apparently have to take another test because of labeling issues, seriously? You had my information. No wonder this company is on the brink of bankruptcy.

On hold for an hour with questions. Never spoke to anyone. Then I did an online search regarding the company and results were frightening.

This company doesn't care about the patient. Our first sample wasn't handled correctly so the test was pending for over a week, I called to see what was going on, they gave me zero information nor told me there was an issue, within 30 min my doctor called me to tell me the lab called them and they needed another sample, so I had I not called lord knows how long it would've taken them to do that on their own. Now we've been waiting a week on the second sample with no news, we're at the exact same point in the testing stage where it didn't progress last time. This lab should be held accountable by the medical board

Cost is outrageous. Our out-of-pocket is $500+ and they refuse to change to self-pay. On their website, they claim "Typically, the out-of-pocket cost for a patient using insurance is less than $100", which is totally not true in our experience.

My doctor and I have been waiting over a month to find out how to proceed with treatment for Amyloidosis, however Invitae randomly cancelled my order without any reason or notification. People's lives are literally disregarded by this company.

I was surprised to see so many negative comments because our experience using this company was anything but terrible. We were so happy with how quick, inexpensive, and thorough the process was. We did bill through insurance but Invitae made it so easy for us. We just wish there were more genetic counselors on staff.

I ordered the Invitae genetic testing: with sales tax $368. Paid with MasterCard. Received the test kit, used it, returned it, received results. Then began getting emails of a balance due of $368. Checked my MasterCard statement, all was paid. Later in mail received another "Balance Due" statement. What company in 2023 would mail a kit, process a kit, give results without payment in ADVANCE???? This company double bills, hoping for double payment from unsuspecting client. I'm sure other parties have paid twice. Customer service said that the accounts receivable dept or company did not interface properly with Billing dept. Honest mistake? Yea right!

they rip you off - don't trust them - they show a specific test as available - cost me $199 for the "expert" at Genome (where they send people for genetic counseling) to tell me the test wasn't available

My wife's experience was beyond horrible. Horrible customer service, tests take months or you never get results. Go elsewhere. So so bad.
