I got an appointment spontaneously and am very satisfied with Tyler's work!
There is a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the studio!

Went to get my septum peirced, it happened so fast and it was extremely high up in my nose through the cartalige and very crooked, I was told to leave the retainer in so you couldn't acctually see the jewelry by looking at me, they said this was normal. My nose hurt for so long after this pericing, it never stopped hurting I kept it in for like 9 + months waiting for it to heal and taking great care of it, looking forward to putting jewerlry i can see in it (which they also said i have to come in to have them do that and charge me 10$) , it was so high up tho so even when flipping the jewerly downwards you still couldn't see it. I went to two seperate professional peircers after when i could tell something was wrong, that are really passionate about what they do and they both said it's very messed up and i won't be able to wear jewerly in it ever unless it's a huge ring that comes down to my lip and they recommendedi take it out, ao i did and instantly felt better, got it re done by someone else, it felt like it healed within days, my nose doesn't hurt, I have a beautiful peice of jewerly in I can see.
Worst peircing experience ever and I have a ton of them.

Artist colored tattoo much differently than his drawing and left out all the details that I liked about it despite clearly asking several times if he would tattoo it exactly like his drawing. Now have to wait for it to heal and shell out another few hundred to get it fixed elsewhere plus the time off from sports. During session every concern I had was met with “oh no it’s the same as the drawing” or “no I think it looks better this way” or “tattoo is gonna be different from the drawing”. I understand artists that want to do their thing but he lied in saying it would be exactly the same. I wouldn’t have gotten it had he said otherwise.

I wouldn't recommend anyone getting a piercing or tattoo at this store and don't even try to get your jewelry changed. The service is awful and they are not clear in prices or what they give you. You ask for something and they will give you the opposite, If you complain they just ignore your concerns. Just save your time and money!

Great vibe in this place. Dave was super friendly, as was everyone in the shop. The two of us were able to get in quickly and did have to wait long to get our tats. He did a great job and sharp work. My girlfriend was even able to snag a quick piercing while we waited.

I genuinely loved this place. I stopped by in a whim while waiting for the bus and got the special of the day, a nose piercing. In the sign it said 45$ (I think) for a nose piercing and that had jewelry included. I opted for different jewelry than the stainless steel because I personally am sensitive to other metals. I got titanium and that wasn't included in the deal, but I'm not mad at about it at all because that's on me! It was a quick and easy process. The front desk staff was very direct, which I appreciated and they were quick with the sale, which I also appreciated. My piercer was absolutely incredible. I unfortunately don't know his name, but he was so nice to talk to, especially because this is the first piercing I've gotten by myself (I'm usually with other people when I decide to get pierced). He was thorough in explaining everything, the process of the piercing and the aftercare. I've had no issues with it, knock on wood, and I definitely will be coming back for future piercings :)

Did walk in two times for helix piercing + lobe. The person who did my piercings both times was really chill and easy to talk to. My first helix piercing didn't hurt, to the point where I was able to sleep on it same day ( which I prob shouldn't ). Got another helix and lobe today that has a little more sting to it but he was re-piercing scar tissue. Prices are pretty standard for SF and Haight st. Will def come back again

Got my nose pierced November 20th. piercing process & piercer was great. Was told to come back if I had any issues. Except, I wont be returning. I developed a bump shortly after & tried my best to take care of it at home. Called a week ago to ask what size I was pierced with (mom brain made me forget) and the receptionist (female) was very snobby. Told me "Why don't you just ask the person at the place you're at?" umm, maybe because I didn't get pierced with them? It could have been a simple answer but instead I got the rudeness & a fast hang up. Fast forward to yesterday, I went somewhere else for a second opinion & was told my piercing was done at a severe angle that it is causing pressure on the tissue which caused my bump. Now I have to take out my piercing & let it heal for 3 months before I can get it re-pierced. Money down the drain.

I would highly recommend not getting a piercing, nor having the piercer at this shop, Phil, change out your jewelry. He is unprofessional and will not listen if you voice concerns regarding his work. After around 5 months of getting my lip pierced at a local shop in Colorado, I wanted to upgrade my long bar to a hoop. I figured it would be an easy change of jewelry and came to this shop on Haight out of convenience. However it was a huge mistake on my part.Upon entering the shop, the receptionist let me know that she doubted that Phil would change my jewelry to a hoop because it had not been six months. While I understood the concern, I let her know that my piercer had recommended I could get a hoop after 4 months if my piercing was fully healed, but she told me just to wait for Phil to come back to the shop and talk about my jewelry options. He then told us I did not need to wait 6 months to get a hoop, and grabbed two stainless steel hoops from the case. He did not ask me jewelry options or anything. And both sizes were drastically different. He went with the larger option, telling me that it was because he feared the small one would be too small and cut my lip. However, the lip ring he gave me was huge. I could fit a pencil in the ring’s gap with space and I noticed some concerns throughout the night. For example, I began excessively salivating and drooling, the ring continuously flopped and would not stay on my lip, the piercing hole itched and burned, it was uncomfortable to eat and drink with, and finally— every time I spoke, the ring hit my bottom and top set of teeth.I consulted with my ma who has multiple piercings. She told me that was not normal and to consult my piercer with my concerns. I did so the next day. However, Phil was unreceptive and blatantly ignored and disregarded my concerns with my piercing. Once he greeted me again, I told him that after having the piercing for a day, I feared it was too big.As I was about to tell him the reasons for my concerns, he cut me off and was very closed off in his demeanor. Again, he reiterated that the smaller one would cut my lip, but if I wanted it smaller then whatever, he would do it.As he started to dig through hoops to find a new ring, I decided to try again and tell him my concerns. The first thing I brought up was how I felt like the ring was stretching out my piercing, as it appeared bigger, stretched out, and I could not comfortably eat or drink with it.He hummed at me, a hum of annoyance. A hum that would be followed up with a “sure it is,” but he remained fixated on the jewelry and did not look up at me. Only waving me back once he found it and telling me to lay down. When he changed my jewelry the first time, it was seamless. However, now, it seemed like he was being careless and applying a lot more pressure than before. It felt like I was re-piercing my lip before he told me, “oh it does look better.” He ended the encounter by walking away and telling me to have a great rest of my weekend in a bored tone. He did not offer me a mirror to look at my jewelry until he noticed me waiting, confused. Then he said there was a full length mirror if I wanted to look at it.I understand that the piercer is an expert and only wants what is best for their clients. However, Paul was unprofessional and let his ego overpower his client. If he was that concerned of the smaller ring, he could have talked to me about it rather than dismissing me entirely and just changing out the piercing to get me to leave. He could have listened to my concerns rather than interrupting me and making small jabs at me, like I was incompetent. I have two nostril piercings, I know how piercings work and when something is wrong. And finally, comfortability and the treatment of a client should always come first. Paul was unprofessional and dismissive.Save your money, it was an awful experience and overpriced. For a jewelry change that cost $53, I should have had an attentive piercer who listened and compromised with me.

The “seamless” hoop they put in my nose piercing was not fully closed and did not fit well. The closure part of the ring was sharp, it hurt and I couldn’t rotate/adjust it at all after two days. I went to another shop and they replaced it with a different ring that immediately felt better. This issue was pretty annoying and painful to get fixed.I also got my belly button pierced here over a year ago. It was healing well for the first 3-4 months, I took good care of it and it never seemed infected… either my skin rejected the jewelry they used or it didn’t fit my anatomy and started to migrate. I had to take the jewelry out and it’s still scarred a year later. Not totally sure that this was the shop’s fault (which was why I came back) but it honestly seems like their jewelry just isn’t good quality. Staff are very nice though.

Mom and daughter got matching piercings New Years Day 2024. SAPO was very calm and communicative during the whole process. Customer service was on point. It was a fairly busy afternoon but they were all very organized and the wait time wasn't as bad since it was a smooth operation.

Tremendous job and lovely staff. I walked in and was seen within 10 minutes. Phil has great attention to detail and will help ease and stress while getting pierced.

They took my friend and I as a walk in. My friend was nervous about getting her ears pierced. He listened to her and made her feel secure. The piercer was really kind. Would definitely recommend coming here to for real through the full Haight Ashbury experience. The vibe was very San Francisco which is what it should be.

I have gotten numerous piercings here over the years. Probably at least 3 different ear piercings and most recently my (which they have a deal for on Wednesdays!). I've always had a pleasant experience and the staff has always been great. Definitely my go to piercing spot in the city!

i was very much wanting a belly piercing impulsively but i was very nervous. my piercer, i completely forgot the name, but he was so nice, looking through other reviews his name might of been Sapo. either way, all the service was great and they did it so quickly, while also making me feel comfortable. the piercing healed beautifully. 100% recommend.
