This bank used to be so good. It was amazing. It had a strong community vibe and was efficient, clean, a pleasure to go to, and was friendly. I felt good having a sizeable chunk of cash at the institution and felt confident in the abilities of the employees. Now, ever since First Republic collapsed and was taken over, it's just trash: service is slow. Only two or three of the veteran employees who have been there for years remain, and they seem depressed. All the perks of being a part of a small, regional bank are gone and it's increasingly feeling like another big, monolithic, corporate entity.Recently, we were instructed that they wouldn't shred our sensitive documents any longer (no more customer use for the shred bin). Depositing a check in the middle of the day takes 30+ minutes. Very depressing.I plan to slowly deplete my cash positions at this bank and maybe just keep a small checking account for some basic stuff. I mourn the loss of First Republic.

I visited this bank on Mon., Nov. 6, aware it is now a J. P. Morgan Chase entity, and was told I cannot pay my mortgage until Wed., Nov. 8, also that I should have received a letter from J.P. Morgan Chase telling me my new mortgage account number. I did NOT receive this letter. Please return my call immediately (Tues., Nov. 7, 9:11 am) to tell me my new account number AND the location of the J. P. Morgan Chase Bank where I am supposed to pay my Nov. 2023 mortgage!BTW I was very satisfied with this First Republic Bank BEFORE it was taken over by J. P. Morgan Chase.

Sad to say this after being a mostly happy FR customer for 10+ years, but FR is done. Branches are closing, app functionality and reliability is diminishing, telephone customer service cannot assist with anything beyond the most basic tasks. I never thought I would say this, but I am looking forward to the day when my accounts transfer from First Republic to Chase.

Be careful at this branch. I think the atm is defective or fraudulent. I got into an altercation after notifying a banker. Attempting to deposit here was difficult and the bankers seemed excited about the fact i was distressed.

Go here for 0.2% APR at best. What a joke!

This branch of First Republic is pretty efficient. I was in and out lickety split. They have a security guard who opens the door for you. Dispensers of hand sanitizer abound as well as wipes. At each bankers desk, there is a plexiglass screen to protect bankers (and you too!).I stood on a circle and waited my turn which wasn't very long. A banker can out and greeted me. I showed her a paper with what I wanted done and she got right to it.No sitting down at the bank anymore. No chocolate chips cookies :(But this visit required expediency as I was short on time. The Asian female banker was so efficient it was thrilling!I haven't had such quick service in any bank in a LONG time!I look forward to my next banking opportunity at First Republic. For sure it'll be at this branch!

Choosing First Republic has been the best financial decision of my career! Their level of service goes above and beyond. Sounds crazy to say this but I feel like family when I walk into my bank, namely First Republic Bank at Laurel Village! Jovany, Sue, Nick and the whole team are some of the most professional, friendly, cordial, and helpful people I have met...they do everything from notary service, personal and business banking, CD's, and home and commercial loans. They are timely and current. There is great value in creating relationships with good people that work hard and exceed expectations every time. Can't thank Jovany enough for his expertise, reliability, promptness and Ritz Carlton service! Sue, thank you for always finding solutions to my problems. Nick, thank you for looking out for my best interests in mind. I actually told my colleague that I want my own business model to reflect the high level of customer service from Laurel Village First Republic Bank! Side note: the cookies and umbrellas are pretty nice too! 10 stars all the way! Thank you.

I am now a huge fan of First Republic. I was quick to apply for the PPP (Paycheck Protection program) for one of my business. My contact person was amazing: quick to respond, quick to get all the documents out. I have heard nightmare stories from friends at Wells, JPM, Citi etc and I cringe. With the program I will keep all employees on full time and cover all their benefits as well. Consider me a loyal client for life!

Wonderful Bank. This establishment has the best bankers in the United States. They want people to prosper and they are willing to help teach those that want to learn. I appreciate Ms. Sue , she is a smart and kind banker. Thankyou First Republic.

I recently switched to First Republic for my home mortgage. Apart from getting a stellar rate, the service from my representative has been awesome. Moreover, I have visited this branch for my regular banking needs and holy wow! The customer service is stellar and banking should only be this way. Keep up the great work folks!!

This bank is customer service++. I've been a customer for almost 20 years when I first opened a restaurant in SF with my partner. As I walked by the Laurel Village location last Saturday with my dog, the bank was closed, lights out, but my dog would not budge. He knew they had dog treats as well as cookies and coffee for their customers. I tugged on the lease, and waited for him to realize that no one would answer his prayers. Then, to my surprise, one of the bankers opened the door, not to say they were closed, but to give my dog a dog biscuit! They could of snuck out the back door, ignoring us, since I didn't see anyone in there, but no. They took the time to smile, open the door and say hello. I did not know this specific banker/associate. I felt like I was in a commercial! Every time I visit this branch and the one in the Presidio, I am always greeted with a smile, hello, or nod, with or without my pooch:). So, thank you First Republic, for your great employees & customer service ( a lost art these days).

This location doesn't have tellers. Rather than telling me the entirety of the staff made my visit more than awkward and just stared. I have been will first republic since childhood but this location will make me reconsider.
