My toddler was drawn by the store and because we are searching for a housewarming gift, we went in, he was supervised closely by myself and my husband, he touched some Christmas baubles but did not drop, or grab anything with force. the store staff was already mean mugging us when we walked in and kept saying “it’s all glass!” And “watch out! Be careful Pleaaasee!” He probably said it five times in the minute we were in there. I understand things are fragile but it’s hard to want to spend money at a place that’s so unwelcoming to a well behaved child. Perhaps a sign should posted that no children under (whatever age the staff is comfortable with) allowed if everything is indeed so precious.

I love, love, love F Dorian!!! They have the most wonderful things and I never leave without buying something. The Christmas displays are the best in the city. The jewelry and accessories are top notch (hi Patricia Locke!) and the objets are beyond lovely. Great place for gifts and home decor.

I've been a long time customer at this fabulous store. Not only does the store carry many unique items that won't be found elsewhere but the staff is always helpful, patient and willing to go the xtra mile for each customer. The jewelry selection is usually outstanding, with designs from very talented special artisans that I never see anywhere else. I can find small little stocking stuffers such as tiny tin cars from Africa to beautiful and unusual baroque pearl necklaces. If you like work by a particular artist, but want some variant, the staff will try to make that happen. In many ways, it's one of the best stores in the city---even if you only go to look.

F. Dorian carry many unique, beautiful decorative items and jewelries. It's conveniently located near Davies Symphony hall, SF Opera & Ballet and SF Jazz. I love stopping by the store and looking for lovely items in the store whenever I'm in the neighborhood! Store managers are always friendly and helpful. During the holiday season, you'll find cutest Christmas ornaments there. I love collecting them and add new ones every Holiday season.

What a wonderful shop! The owner, the manager, and the sales staff are all phenomenal. They are non interfering as they let you ooh and aah after looking at the varied wondrous items in this gallery setting. I have purchased a few great artisan made necklaces and they were so priced so reasonably that I try to stop in as much as possible on the way to dinner and symphony. Just don't expect to come out empty handed! They also carry unusual scarves, wood carvings, and glass items that literally blow you away. Stop in and drool. You won't be sorry,

Came in 3 years ago, while on vacation, and remembered it 3 years later. A stunning and classy store with unusual exquisite one-of-a-kind jewelry, scarves, etc etc - I came in wishing I'd bought one of the necklaces 3 years ago - and... there were several more from same artist here today - so finally bought one. If you only visit one craft or jewelry store in San Francisco - it should be this one. And thank you, Bert - the most helpful and kindest salesperson ever.

The owners' passion for beautiful objects is obvious in the unusual selection of items for the home and designer jewelry they offer. It is my go to place for fun cheap accessories as well as unique statement pieces. I also love the idea of supporting a small privately own store.

Like Valencia Street from 15th to 23rd streets, Hayes Street between Franklin and Laguna is an “only in San Francisco” retail gulch. The artisans represented in shops like F. Dorian and Maker and Moss next door are either local or consigned from great, known sources. If you want gorgeous, eclectic ceramics, textiles and glassware, hand-crafted with sharp, contemporary eyes and rustic one-off authenticity, then shop here. I bought my first piece from Dorian in 1987, and haven’t stopped. This grain-grinding disc, and below that, the wrought-iron dish from an old-world Japanese foundry master, are favorites I brought home from Dorian over the years.

This is my "go-to" shop when I want to gift myself something special. I go to shop here for my birthdays, anniversaries and when I acquire a new client and want to congratulate myself on a job well done. I love the selection of high-end wearable art from their highly curated selection of very talented artists. Many of the pieces are one-of-a-kind, so you won't see yourself "coming and going". I've received many compliments on the pieces I've purchased there over many years. I'm an "accessory queen" and this meets my needs to a "T"!I've also bought many lovely gifts for friends here. Their Christmas ornaments are wonderful too. I always purchase a few every year to give as gifts and keep for my own decorations. If you're looking for unique and different, try FDorian! For home decor and wearable art they're a perfect choice!

Like Valencia Street from 15th to 23rd streets, Hayes Street between Franklin and Laguna is an "only in San Francisco" retail gulch. The artisans represented in shops like F. Dorian (and Maker and Moss, next door) are either local residents or are consigned from great, known and authentic sources. If you want edgy urban art, or gorgeous, eclectic ceramics, textiles and glassware, hand-crafted with sharp, contemporary eyes and a one-off authenticity, then shop here. I bought my first piece from Dorian in 1987, and haven't stopped yet. The gorgeous glasswares from nouveau hipster Portland/Seattle studios or village-scale master foundries in Mexico and Italy, are especially worth a visit, as are the Christmas and Hanukkah ornaments.
