I’ve had an exceptional experience with Kimberly, one of the massage therapists at the spa. I see her weekly because she is the only practitioner able to release my muscle tension effectively. Kimberly’s skill and professionalism have earned my complete trust, and I always leave feeling rejuvenated and cared for. Highly recommend!

The amenities the gym provides is pretty good. It has four levels. First floor is the shop, smoothie bar, and front desk. Second floor has the lockers and main studio. Third floor has weights, cardio machine, and cycling studio. And lastly, fourth floor weights, cardio machines, and barre studio. Quality of the all the equipment is fine. Just like any gym that you would pay above $80 a month. But equinox you would pay over $200 for the membership. It's expensive but we know it's "luxury " and San Francisco is expensive. But that's all Equinox's.

I go here to get a massage from Simon Cohn and that is pretty much it. If you are looking to get a massage after your work out he will be a good choice for you. Other than that I think it is too crowded but if you don't mind it then give it a try. It is in a good location also except street parking could be difficult to find. There is a garage parking that is available next door. I would suggest Equinox sports club in market not as crowded and relatively the same price for a regular membership or if you want to go all out you can do the executive membership.

overly crowded and does not stay open late enough, especially around holidays

I was told by customer service that this equinox is THE MOST expensive equinox in the company. This review is written with that in mind. I don't like this gym. I go because it is a nicer alternative to the Crunch gyms close by, but really, it is not worth it. The other reviewer below talking about the front desk staff is hilariously accurate. Super unprofessional, and often seeming inconvenienced. They're always confused or hesitant before scanning me in -- like isn't that literally your job? There is barely any space in this gym at all. It is embarrassing. The mat areas are so small and cramped, don't even bother during mildly busy hours. I can't even imagine during peak times. There are also simply not enough weights, especially of popular smaller denominations (15-20). The "great view" and luxury feel are isolated to the top floor -- the second floor feels no better than a 24 hour fitness, but you'll find yourself there more than half the time since it's less crowded. Locker room is standard to equinox, so I'm not impressed. Again, think of the price. Showers are actually slightly less clean than other locations -- I think they get more use because they feel newer than the average SF apartment bathroom. Group fitness is a redeeming factor. But again, no better than other locations really. I am still a member and will continue to be because, well, I don't want to go to Crunch. But today I just realized how horrible this location is compared to every other equinox I have been to, especially considering the relative price. Come if you're like me and youre kind of snobby but just prepare yourself, it's not worth the money. Should be $100 less atleast.

Simply wonderful gym, clean, has several lockers, and has eucalyptus-scented towels.

Great facility with breathtaking views. Love the vibe and music. Lobby is definitely a great place to just do some light work. Staff was attentive and friendly.

This is one of the coolest looking gyms (interior and exterior) I've ever been to. A decades-old retro movie theater was converted into a modern luxury gym while retaining some of the original architectural elements. I'm sure this gym may have landed in a Architectural Digest article once! But the design does limit workout space. There's very little workout space and very short on equipment. It's so popular on weekday evenings that you can expect to wait in line to use one of the machines.

Very crowded and old rusty gym equipment. When I pay $300 per month, I don’t expect to wait up to 10 minutes every time I want to use a machine or bench. The only reason that I’m a member is because it’s the nearest gym to where I live.

The worst equinox location, I’ve ever been to. It’s the same as a blink fitness.I reached out to the GM several times regarding the out of order machines, people constantly talking on their phones (FaceTiming in the women’s locker room) she has never responded. The staff is friendly, but it doesn’t make up for how crowded and somehow dejected this place is.

This location is not up to the standards I'm used to at other Equinox locations. The weight floors were packed...every bench was in use, I felt like I was competing for mirror space to check form, and folks were waiting for the cable machines. The women's locker room was a mess (is it normal for members to leave dirty towels on the benches and counters instead of putting them in the hampers?). The staff were friendly and the workspace downstairs is comfy and useful. I'll be giving the Pine Street location a try...

equinox van ness is better. it gets extremely crowded quickly and I've had times where every single machine is being used. the only positive about union st is the nice working area and the wood floors in the showers

Felt welcomed at Equinox and able to work out here productively. Darek the trainer, Crystal who on-boarded me and the staff are fantastic. Clean, great amenities and vantage view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the top floor.

Equinox Union Street is a complete disaster. The facilities are in shambles, with broken equipment and dirty changing rooms. The trainer is rude and unhelpful, showing a lack of professionalism. It's clear that the management has no interest in maintaining a quality of gym.
